Building information modeling (BIM) of cultural heritage. Case study: 28 Dragoman St, Varna, Bulgaria

The publication presents the efforts of the team of the R&D SME Architectural Spies EOOD of creating models of the cultural heritage (CH) building at 28 Dragoman St and 11 Bdin St, Varna, Bulgaria. The team vectorized the old paper plans from 1912, did aerial and terrestrial photos and movies, completed the data acquisition from 2D images to a 3D model, testing 3 types of software for photogrammetry, and finalized the building information model (BIM). The BIM is a base for creating the building energy model (BEM) and applications for virtual reality (VR) and augmented reality (AR) of the same building. The work is included as a virtual demonstration site in the H2020 project BIM-SPEED (Harmonized Building Information Speedway for Energy-Efficient Renovation)

Extracorporeal ultrafiltration in refractory heart failure

Сърдечната недостатъчност (СН) е значим здравен и социален проблем и, въпреки напредъка на медицината, продължава да бъде водеща причина за хоспитализациите в развитите страни. Основна изява на декомпенсация е хиперволемията, която при рефрактерна СН трудно може да бъде повлияна с познатите досега средства. В настоящия обзор е разгледана подробно ултрафилтрацията (УФ) като надежден, безопасен и ефективен метод за лечение на застойна рефрактерна СН. Описани са методиката, известните клинични проучвания в тази област, както и основните индикации и контраиндикации за нейното приложение.Heart failure (HF) is a major health and social problem and despite the advances in medicine it still remains the main cause for hospitalizations in the developed world. The main sign of decompensation is hypervolemia, which in refractory HF is difficult to treat with the currently available medications. This review studies in detail ultrafiltration (UF) as a safe, effective and promising method for management of refractory congestive HF. The procedure, the prominent clinical studies in this field, as well as the main indications and contraindications are described

Building energy modeling (BЕM) of cultural heritage. Case study: 28 Dragoman St, Varna, Bulgaria

This paper presents the efforts of the team of the R&D SME Architectural Spies EOOD of creating а building energy model (BEM) of the cultural heritage building at 28 Dragoman St and 11 Bdin St, Varna, Bulgaria. Two types of BEMs are presented: based on BIM and based on FLIR thermal surveys. Know-how of producing volumetric 3D models based on 2D thermal scans is the specific scientific contribution of the authors. The BEMwill be a part of AR and VR applications developed by the same team in the frames of the H2020 project BIM-SPEED (Harmonized Building Information Speedway for Energy-Efficient Renovation)
