ABSTRACTBackgroundFondaparinux is an agent that has a well-established safety and efficacy profile in the treatment of non-ST segment elevation acute coronary syndromes. When used alone, however, it is associated with a higher incidence of thrombotic complications during invasive coronary procedures, requiring the supplementation of an anti-IIa agent. This study aimed to evaluate the efficacy and safety of percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) in patients with non-ST segment elevation acute coronary syndromes that were previously treated with fondaparinux.MethodsThis was a prospective, controlled registry, enrolling 127 consecutive patients submitted to an early invasive stratification during treatment with fondaparinux with the supplementation of intravenous unfractionated heparin at a dose of 85 U/kg at the time of PCI.ResultsThe composite primary endpoint rate, including death, acute myocardial infarction, stroke, stent thrombosis, or emergency myocardial revascularisation was 3.2%. The cumulative incidence of major bleeding and vascular complications was 3.2%. There were no cases of guide catheter thrombosis or abrupt vessel closure.ConclusionsPCI in patients with acute coronary syndromes receiving fondaparinux was associated with a low rate of major adverse cardiovascular ischaemic events and severe haemorrhagic complications. Supplementation with unfractionated heparin during the invasive procedures eliminated the risk of catheter-related thrombosis

Rural Education has as its principle an education for the revolution, one of its inspirations being the School of Labour by Moisey Pistrak, and the discipline of OTTP is one of the links that connects education with the labour in the field. The methodology applied was a bibliographic research, in which authors such as Pistrak (2000), Freire (1987), Caldart (2003; 2012) and Nascimento and Teixeira (2021) were used as a theoretical basis. We show in this work that the OTTP discipline carries within itself the struggles of social movements, as well as the theoretical and practical essence of the Schools of Labour defended by Pistrak, especially the student's ability to self-organize. Therefore, it was concluded that the OTTP discipline presents itself as a link between Rural School and School of Labour, since its contents are associated to contribute to the construction of the human formation of students.

This study aimed to evaluate the gas exchanges and growth of the purple passion fruit cultivar ‘BRS Rubi do Cerrado’ as a function of the salinity levels of the irrigation water and nitrogen fertilization. The research was conducted in pots adapted as drainage lysimeters, placed within a plant nursery, using a Regolithic Neosol of sandy texture, in the municipality of Pombal-PB, Brazil. A randomized block design was used, testing five levels of electrical conductivity of irrigation water (0.3, 1.1, 1.9, 2.7, and 3.5 dS m-1) associated with four doses of nitrogen (50, 75, 100, and 125% of the recommendation). The irrigation water salinity above 0.3 dS m-1 compromised the leaf area and the relative water content of the purple passion fruit ‘BRS Rubi do Cerrado’. High doses of nitrogen enhance the deleterious effects of irrigation water salinity on stomatal conductance, transpiration, internal CO2 concentration, CO2 assimilation rate, number of leaves, stem diameter, and height of purple passion fruit plants. When waters with salinity levels of up to 1.3 dS m-1 are used, the dose of 125 mg of N kg-1 of soil is recommendation for providing increases in the CO2 assimilation rate of the purple passion fruit ‘BRS Rubi do Cerrado’ at 70 days after sowing (DAS). Water salinity increases electrolyte leakage, regardless of nitrogen doses. This study aimed to evaluate the gas exchanges and growth of the purple passion fruit cultivar ‘BRS Rubi do Cerrado’ as a function of the salinity levels of the irrigation water and nitrogen fertilization. Objective: To evaluate genotoxicity of zinc oxide, P. A. calcium hydroxide, mineral trioxide aggregate and an iodoform paste using comet assay on human lymphocytes. Material and Methods: Two positive controls were used: methyl-methanesulfonate for the P.A. calcium hydroxide and mineral trioxide aggregate; and doxorubicin for the iodoform paste and zinc oxide. There were also two negative controls: distilled water for the P.A. calcium hydroxide and mineral trioxide aggregate; and DMSO for the iodoform paste and zinc oxide. Comets were identified using fluorescence microscopy and 100 of them were counted on each of the three slides analyzed per drug test. A damage index was established, taking into consideration the score pattern that had previously been determined from the size and intensity of the comet tail. Analysis of variance, followed by Tukey’s test, was used to compare the means of the DNA damage indices. Results: The DNA damage index observed for mineral trioxide aggregate (7.08 to 8.58) and P.A. calcium hydroxide (6.50 to 8.33), which were similar to negative control index. On the other hand, damage index for zinc oxide (104.7 to 218.50) and iodoform paste (115.7 to 210.7) were similar to positive control index. Conclusion: Iodoform paste and zinc oxide showed genotoxicity at all concentrations used

rban forests contribute to maintaining livability and increase the resilience of cities in the face of population growth and climate change. Information about the geographical distribution of individual trees is essential for the proper management of these systems. RGB high-resolution aerial images have emerged as a cheap and efficient source of data, although detecting and mapping single trees in an urban environment is a challenging task. Thus, we propose the evaluation of novel methods for single tree crown detection, as most of these methods have not been investigated in remote sensing applications. A total of 21 methods were investigated, including anchor-based (one and two-stage) and anchor-free state-of-the-art deep-learning methods. We used two orthoimages divided into 220 non-overlapping patches of 512 × 512 pixels with a ground sample distance (GSD) of 10 cm. The orthoimages were manually annotated, and 3382 single tree crowns were identified as the ground-truth. Our findings show that the anchor-free detectors achieved the best average performance with an AP50 of 0.686. We observed that the two-stage anchor-based and anchor-free methods showed better performance for this task, emphasizing the FSAF, Double Heads, CARAFE, ATSS, and FoveaBox models. RetinaNet, which is currently commonly applied in remote sensing, did not show satisfactory performance, and Faster R-CNN had lower results than the best methods but with no statistically significant difference. Our findings contribute to a better understanding of the performance of novel deep-learning methods in remote sensing applications and could be used as an indicator of the most suitable methods in such applications
