Serine tRNAs (tRNASer) are frequently overexpressed in tumors and associated with poor prognosis and increased risk of recurrence in breast cancer. Impairment of tRNA biogenesis and abundance also impacts proteome homeostasis, and activates protein quality control systems. Herein, we aimed at testing whether increasing tRNASer abundance could foster tumor establishment through activation of the UPR. In order to do so, firstly we confirmed that the expression of tRNA-Ser-AGA-2-1 [hereafter tRNASer(AGA)] was upregulated by 1.79-fold in Stage I NSCLC tumors when compared to normal adjacent tissue. To study the impact of tRNASer(AGA) in early stage tumorigenesis, we induced its upregulation in a non-tumoral bronchial cell line, BEAS-2B. Upregulation of this tRNA increased cellular proliferation and protein synthesis rate, driven by eIF2α dephosphorylation and ATF4 activation downstream of PERK signaling. Futhermore, tRNASer(AGA) enhanced transformation potential in vitro, and promoted the establishment of slow growing tumors with aggressive features in nude mice. Our work highlights the importance of studying tRNA deregulation on early stage tumorigenesis, as they may be potential malignancy and aggressiveness biomarkers.publishe

The project “Parents and Teachers Working Hand in Hand : Training Programme for Parents and Teachers of Pupils with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD)” was prepared and co-ordinated by Ankara Provincial Directorate for National Education under the European Union Education and Youth Programme, Lifelong Learning Programme within the framework of Grundtvig Learning Partnership. At the planning stage of the project, as the co-ordinating institution, we wanted to prepare a project for pupils with ADHD because we know that, across the world, almost 5% of students suffer from this disorder and they encounter difficulties in their academic life, in their community and in their social relationships. Both parents and teachers encounter difficulties while they are supporting pupils with ADHD in their school lives. As the second biggest local education authority in Turkey, we decided to prepare this project for parents and teachers of pupils with ADHD to make everyone’s life easier. We shared our thoughts with different people and institutions from different countries and we realised that it is not only a problem in Turkey but also for other countries. As a result, we developed project partnerships with various educational institutions, universities and non-governmental organisations (NGOs) from different countries. The project development stage was completed after contributions from all partners. Initially we had started with 8 partners but after approval for the project and the agreement of National Agencies of each partner countries, we implemented the project with 6 partners starting from 1st October 2007 to 31st July 2009

Drug-induced gingival hyperplasia is common in patients undergoing treatment with medications based on phenytoin, nifedipine and cyclosporine-A, due to the fibrotic changes that these drugs cause in the gingival tissues. Therefore, this condition requires more careful hygiene from the patient, and in some situations corrective surgery is necessary to remove hyperplastic gingival tissue, so that the patient has adequate oral health and a more harmonious smile. The objective of the present study is to report a clinical case of corrective surgery by gingivectomy in a patient with drug-treated gingival hyperplasia. Male patient, 14 years old, complained of gingival enlargement. After a detailed anamnesis, he reported the use of phenytoin-based medications, and as a result, it was decided to perform a gingivectomy to remove hyperplastic tissue. After 90 days, excellent healing was achieved and the patient was then released to begin orthodontic treatment. Surgical success was achieved through a correct diagnosis and correct choice of technique.

Background: Ovarian torsion is a condition which the ovary and the ovarian pedicle twist around the ovary suspensory ligament. No report regarding this condition was reported. The aim of the report was to describe a case of unilateral ovarian torsion in a 2-year-old primipara Golden Retriever dog.Case: A 2-year-old female primipara Golden Retriever dog weighting was referred to the Veterinary Hospital, for purulent vaginal discharge evaluation. The dog was presenting anorexia, weight loss, and intermittent diarrhea and vomiting. A cesarean section was performed nine months before her presentation and the oestrus cycle was recorded six months after the cesarean section. Discomfort was observed during the palpation of the abdomen and purulent vaginal was observed. Vaginal swab was performed and followed by cytological examination. The ultrasonographic examination was consistent with pyometra. The ovariohysterectomy was performed and were observed torsion of the left ovary. The histopathological examination of the left ovary and uterus were consistent with ovary necrosis and pyometra. Ten days after surgery the vaginal discharge had resolved and the sutures were removed. Six months postoperatively the dog revealed no further abnormalities. Grossly, the left ovary had firm consistency, dark red surface and 8 cm diameter. The histopathology examination findings were consistent with a diagnosis of diffuse necrosis of left ovary due to ovarian torsion, and uterinesuppurative inflammatory process - pyometra.Discussion: Ovarian torsion is uncommon in small animals, but can be observed high incidence in pregnant female dogs than in non-pregnant ones. The 360º an asynchronous ovarian torsion described in the present case is also an unusual condition in primipara female dogs due to the smaller stretching of the ovary suspensory ligament. The ovarian torsionis considerate an emergency condition due to acute abdominal pain. The mild abdominal discomfort observed during the physical examination was associated to pyometra or to ovarian torsion. The histopathological findings as hemorrhage, edema and necrosis were associated to compromised arterial circulation and ovarian torsion in late stage. The size of the pregnant uterus and/or the pyometra has contributed to ovary torsion. The dog of the present report had pyometra and previouscesarean sections; and these conditions may have contributed to ovarian torsion. The condition was incidentally found during the ovariohysterectomy, and the ovarian torsion diagnosis was determinate through histopathological examination. Computed tomography and magnetic resonance image could be used to diagnose, furthermore, they were not conducted due to the high cost. The leukocytosis and red blood cells Rouleaux was associated with ovarian necrosis and pyometra.Ovariohysterectomy was the treatment of choice to pyometra and ovarian torsion, and the surgery was performed without ovarian torsion reversion to minimize the reperfusion lesions. Ovarian torsion is a rare event in dogs, and it was clinically diagnosed during the surgery. To the best of the authors’ knowledge, this is the first report of ovarian torsion associate withpyometra in primipara female dogs in Brazil. Keywords: dog, obstetric, ovary, pyometra complex, endometrium

Introduction: All the methodological processes that involve the discussion about the neurological complications of Covid-19, and in particular encephalitis, indicate that although the clinical characteristics most observed in patients infected with SARS-CoV-2 are associated with the respiratory system, systemic and systemic changes can also occur in these patients. Methodology: This is an integrative literature review study carried out in the VHL, PMC and IPTODATE, which are online databases of the virtual health library. The following scientific descriptors were used to capture the sample: “Encephaliti”, “viral Encephalophaty” and Covid-19”. The study sample consisted of 54 articles, of which only 19 articles published between the dates of September 2020 and August 2021 comprised the study sample after applying the eligibility criteria. National and international articles available in full were included. Results: The results presented were of great significance regarding the learning of theoretical and practical concepts in the discipline about the occurrence of neurological impacts of Covid-19. Discussion: The study of the subject allowed to observe the neurological complications of covid infection 19, mainly regarding encephalitis and the mechanisms in which Sars-CoV-2 has to reach the central nervous system, its epidemiology, clinical manifestations and treatment. Conclusion: Therefore, it was shown how Sars-CoV-2 virus infection can result in encephalitis, in addition to presenting important data such as its main signs and symptoms, its prevalence and treatment. However, there is still little literature that addresses these repercussions of Covid-19, mainly related to encephalitis. Therefore, more in-depth approaches and research are needed in order to better understand the mechanisms related to the entry of the virus into the central nervous system and how it generates such complications. &nbsp
