Implications of a New Effective Chiral Meson Lagrangian
Based on a recently derived effective chiral meson Lagrangian from the
extended SU(2)\otimes SU(2) Nambu -- Jona-Lasinio (ENJL) model, in the linear
realization of chiral symmetry, we extract to leading order in the 1/N_c
expansion all associated relevant three-point functions \rho \to \pi\pi, \sigma
\to \pi\pi, a_1 \to \rho\pi, a_1 \to \sigma\pi, as well as the amplitude for
\pi\pi scattering. We discuss the formal differences of these amplitudes as
compared with those derived in the literature and calculate the associated
decay widths and scattering parameters. The differences have two origins: i)
new terms, which are proportional to the current quark mass and arise from
taking the correct NJL vacuum from the first steps in a proper-time expansion,
are present in the Lagrangian; ii) an implemented chiral covariant treatment of
the diagonalization in the pseudoscalar - axialvector sector induces new
couplings between three or more mesonic fields. Both effects have been derived
from the chiral Ward Takahashi identities, which are fully taken into account
at each order of the proper-time expansion.Comment: Plain LaTex, 15 page
Remote spatiotemporal control of a magnetic and electroconductive hydrogel network via magnetic fields for soft electronic applications
Multifunctional hydrogels are a class of materials offering new opportunities for interfacing living organisms with machines due to their mechanical compliance, biocompatibility, and capacity to be triggered by external stimuli. Here, we report a dual magnetic- and electric-stimuli-responsive hydrogel with the capacity to be disassembled and reassembled up to three times through reversible cross-links. This allows its use as an electronic device (e.g., temperature sensor) in the cross-linked state and spatiotemporal control through narrow channels in the disassembled state via the application of magnetic fields, followed by reassembly. The hydrogel consists of an interpenetrated polymer network of alginate (Alg) and poly(3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene) (PEDOT), which imparts mechanical and electrical properties, respectively. In addition, the incorporation of magnetite nanoparticles (Fe3O4 NPs) endows the hydrogel with magnetic properties. After structural, (electro)chemical, and physical characterization, we successfully performed dynamic and continuous transport of the hydrogel through disassembly, transporting the polymer–Fe3O4 NP aggregates toward a target using magnetic fields and its final reassembly to recover the multifunctional hydrogel in the cross-linked state. We also successfully tested the PEDOT/Alg/Fe3O4 NP hydrogel for temperature sensing and magnetic hyperthermia after various disassembly/re-cross-linking cycles. Amb aquesta publicació, EINA, Centre universitari de Disseny i Art adscrit a la Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona, dóna a conèixer el recull dels Treballs de Fi de Grau presentats durant el curs 2016-2017. Voldríem que un recull com aquest donés una idea més precisa de la tasca que es realitza a EINA per tal de formar nous dissenyadors amb capacitat de respondre professionalment i intel·lectualment a les necessitats i exigències de la nostra societat. El treball formatiu s’orienta a oferir resultats que responguin tant a paràmetres de rigor acadèmic i capacitat d’anàlisi del context com a l’experimentació i la creació de nous llenguatges, tot fomentant el potencial innovador del disseny.Con esta publicación, EINA, Centro universitario de diseño y arte adscrito a la Universidad Autónoma de Barcelona, da a conocer la recopilación de los Trabajos de Fin de Grado presentados durante el curso 2016-2017. Querríamos que una recopilación como ésta diera una idea más precisa del trabajo que se realiza en EINA para formar nuevos diseñadores con capacidad de responder profesional e intelectualmente a las necesidades y exigencias de nuestra sociedad. El trabajo formativo se orienta a ofrecer resultados que respondan tanto a parámetros de rigor académico y capacidad de análisis, como a la experimentación y la creación de nuevos lenguajes, al tiempo que se fomenta el potencial innovador del diseño.With this publication, EINA, University School of Design and Art, affiliated to the Autonomous University of Barcelona, brings to the public eye the Final Degree Projects presented during the 2016-2017 academic year. Our hope is that this volume might offer a more precise idea of the task performed by EINA in training new designers, able to speak both professionally and intellectually to the needs and demands of our society. The educational task is oriented towards results that might respond to the parameters of academic rigour and the capacity for contextual analysis, as well as to considerations of experimentation and the creation of new languages, all the while reinforcing design’s innovative potential
Escaping : creació d'un escape room
Durant els últims anys el fenomen dels escape rooms s’ha anat popularitzant. Aquests, consisteixen a escapar d’una habitació fent servir els objectes que trobes en aquesta. Aquest treball tracta sobre la creació d’un escape room d’ordinador. Per tal d’entendre bé en què consisteixen, he realitzat una investigació sobre els seus orígens així com els dels jocs d’aventura d’ordinador. També he realitzat una anàlisi d’aquests tipus de jocs. Aquesta memòria també documenta el procés creatiu de la creació del joc, des de les eines utilitzades fins als referents visuals.Durante los últimos años el fenómeno de los escape rooms se ha ido popularizando. Estos, consisten en escapar de una habitación utilizando los objetos que encuentras en ella. Este trabajo trata sobre en la creación de un escape room de ordenador. Para entender bien en que consisten he realizado una investigación sobre sus orígenes así como el de los juegos de aventura de ordenador. También he realizado un análisis de este tipo de juegos. Esta memoria también documenta el proceso creativo de la creación del juego, des de las herramientas utilizadas hasta los referentes visuales.Lately, the escape room phenomena has become very popular. This type of game consists of escaping out of a room using the objects that are inside of it. This project is about the creation of a computer escape room. To understand what an escape room is about I have done research about its origins as well as the origins of computer adventure games. I have also analysed this type of games. This report also documents the creative of process of the game, from the tools that I have used to the aesthetic references
