    Localisation sonore par retournement temporel

The objective of this PhD is to propose a location solution that should be simple and robust to multipath that characterizes the indoor environments. First, a location system that exploits the time domain of channel parameters has been proposed. The system adopts the time of arrival of the path of maximum amplitude as a signature and estimates the target position through nonparametric kernel regression. The system was evaluated in experiments for two main configurations: a privacy-oriented configuration with code-division multiple-access operation and a centralized configuration with time-division multiple-access operation. A comparison between our privacy-oriented system and another acoustic location system based on code-division multiple-access operation and lateration method confirms the results found in radiofrequency-based localization. However, our experiments are the first to demonstrate the detrimental effect that reverberation has on acoustic localization approaches. Second, a location system based on time reversal technique and able to localize simultaneously sources with different location precisions has been tested through simulations for different values of the number of sources. The system has then been validated by experiments. Finally, we have been interested in reducing the audibility of the localization signal through psycho-acoustics. A filter, set from the absolute threshold of hearing, is then applied to the signal. Our results showed an improvement in precision, when compared to the location system without psychoacoustic model, thanks to the use of matched filter at the receiver.

The integration of the photovoltaic (PV) solar systems into distribution networks has brought new challenges to the network planners. One of the most interesting is to prevent the impacts of the PV intermittent character on the steady state system operation conditions. This work is aimed to investigate such effect on voltage performance, conventional generator daily behavior and automatic voltage regulator operation. Simulations were conducted on a 33-bus IEEE radial distribution power system. In order to provide a reliable study, a real PV power profile was considered. Obtained results over a period of 24 hours revealed that the PV integration contributes to an enhancement of the overall voltage profile, a considerable saving in the total amount of the produced active power and a reduction of power losses. However, the PV intermittent character causes significant transformation in buses voltages daily profiles as well as changes in production plan. To sum up, this paper reports the alterations, caused by the PV source intermittence, which must be taken into consideration by the distribution networks planners to maintain the overall network parameters within safe operating conditio

A novel indoor localization scheme based on fingerprinting technique And CDMA signals

    No full text
International audience—In this paper, we propose a novel acoustic local-ization system based on fingerprinting technique. It deploys the Time Of Arrival of CDMA signals emitted by speakers to locate a microphone. The system is inspired from our earlier proposed scheme [1] which deploys the lateration method. Here, we adopt the fingerprinting technique since it is more applicable to indoor environments. The position estimation is accomplished through nonparametric kernel regression. Performance are evaluated by experiments, performed in a hall of interns in National School of Engineers of Le Mans. Results have shown that our proposed scheme provides an accuracy of 8.5 cm within 80% precision

AbstractEquine influenza is an infectious and contagious disease of horses. Studies on this topic are rare in the Maghreb countries. Therefore, the aim of this work is to present the various studies conducted on serological and molecular equine influenza virus since 1972 in the Maghreb region in particular in Morocco, Algeria and Tunisia.A total of four equine influenza strains were isolated in the Maghreb Arab region. A/equine/Nador/1/1997(H3N8), A/equine/Essaouira/2/2004(H3N8), A/equine/Essaouira/3/2004(H3N8) and A/equine/Algiers/1/1972(H3N8).The highest homology of HA nucleotide sequences of A/equine/Nador/1/1997(H3N8) with European strains: A/equine/Italy/1199/1992(H3N8) and A/equine/Brescia/1999(H3N8) clearly clustered A/equine/Nador/1/1997(H3N8) with the strains belonging to the European lineage. However, A/equine/Algiers/1/1972(H3N8), A/equine/Essaouira/2/2004(H3N8) and A/equine/Essaouira/3/2004(H3N8) were placed in the predivergent lineage indicating that like-Miami/63 strains infected equids in Morocco in 2004.This finding does not corroborate the recent studies of the H3N8 subtype of equine influenza viruses which have demonstrated that the oldest equine H3N8 strains, circulating before 1990 apparently went extinct

Synthesis and photophysical properties of new reactive fluorophenanthrenes

A series of six new suitably functionalized fluorophenanthrene derivatives were synthesized through a simple procedure, making use of inexpensive starting materials under mild conditions. The target phenanthrenes were characterized by 1H and 13C NMR and FT-IR spectroscopies. UV–Vis absorption and photoluminescence of these phenanthrenes were evaluated in solutions. A notable behavior and a strong fluorescence in the blue region of the visible spectrum were observed, making them potential candidates for organic light-emitting diode technology or advanced materials. Their electrochemical behavior was also experimentally examined in solution, demonstrating an important charge transfer interaction owing to their π{\pi }-conjugated electronic system

This is an accepted manuscript of an article published by Elsevier in Pacific-Basin Finance Journal on 08/04/2020, available online: https://doi.org/10.1016/j.pacfin.2020.101326 The accepted version of the publication may differ from the final published version.© 2020 The emergence of new asset classes offers avenues to international investment community however understanding relationship between any two assets in a single portfolio is important. We investigate the risk dependence between daily Bitcoin and major Islamic equity markets spanning over from July 2010 to March 2018. We start by examining long memory properties of Bitcoin and sampled Islamic indices and report significant results. The residuals from fractionally integrated models are then used in bivariate time invariant and time varying copulas to investigate dependence structure. Among all Islamic indices, DJIUK, DJIJP and DJICA exhibit time varying dependence with Bitcoin. In addition, we apply VaR, CoVaR and ΔCoVaR as risk measure to examine spillover between Bitcoin and Islamic equity markets. VaR of Bitcoin exceeds from VaR of Islamic indices and CoVaR of both Islamic and Bitcoin exceeds their respective VaR, suggesting presence of risk spillover between each other. Our results also report asymmetry between downside and upside ΔCoVaR suggesting implications for investors with different risk preferences. Finally, the diversification benefits indicate that Islamic equity market serves as an effective hedge in a portfolio along with Bitcoin.Accepted versio

OARLCAM : An Ontology-based Approach for Reusing and Learning through Context-aware Annotations Memory

    No full text
In this paper, we present an approach to adapt and reuse learning annotations and contexts. Then we explain the process to capitalization and reuse of learning annotations and associated learning contexts. This is to provide to the actor, an appropriate learning which is reviewed or validated previously by others, with similar learning contexts. The modeling and the formalization of learning annotations and learning contexts will allow to define functions for their comparison and their evaluations, in order to reuse them. We propose our method measuring similarities. In this way, we get learning annotations dedicated to a given and well-defined pedagogical goal. An alignment between the two types of ontology, respectively that of the annotation and that of the context will provide us with a learning based on annotations according to the current context which requires a pertinent criterion of similarity between the learning contexts and the learning annotations. This approach allows to manage annotations and adapt actors (learner, tutor, teacher, and coauthor) behaviours with the various contexts of their activities. It offers a great reutilisability to share and have a better quality of learning
