    Mestrado em Gestão de OperaçõesA evolução dos mercados tem sido caracterizada por um crescimento acentuado dos modelos de negócio “make-to-order” em virtude de ser exigido, cada vez mais, uma especialização nas necessidades do cliente. Esta vertente, associada à imprevisibilidade da procura, obriga as empresas a avaliar e afectar constantemente os seus recursos (desistindo dos tradicionais sistemas MRP) e recorrer a técnicas de planeamento que incluem várias restrições para a gestão da capacidade. Alguns sistemas ERP existentes no mercado foram analisados sobre diversos critérios e todos eles apresentaram lacunas na análise de repercussões (fundamental para empresas com mais do que uma variável de capacidade produtiva) e no auxílio à tomada de decisão para pedidos de cotação incompletos (muito usual, em modelos “make-to-order” só fornecer a descrição completa da lista de materiais ou rotas de produção em períodos posteriores à negociação). Perante isto, foi proposto um novo sistema para a construção de um modelo de capacidades inovador, de elevada integração e grau de “nervosismo” (atento a qualquer alteração das suas variáveis), que fornecesse ao gestor várias panorâmicas da sua capacidade produtiva. Este sistema deverá permitir, em pouco passos e num único ecrã, visualizar a globalidade da capacidade produtiva segundo várias parâmetros e efectuar um conjunto de acções rectificativas.Market evolution has been characterized for a deep growth of "make-to-order" business models since specialization of the customer needs are more and more required. This source, associated to an uncertain demand, compels companies to evaluate and afect its resources constantly (giving up the traditional MRP systems) and to decide for planning techniques that include management capacity restrictions. Some ERP systems in the market were studied based on some defined criteria and they all presented some gaps in the analysis of repercussions (basic situation for companies working with more than one variable when calculating their capacity) and when helping in the decision process for quotation requests' incomplete (in " make-to-order" business models ", it is common to supply the full description of the materials' list and of the production routes just after the negotiation process). During this work a new system for the development of an innovative model of capacities is introduced, with a high level of integration and degree of "nervousness" (subject to any change of its capacity variables), in order to provide the manager with a set of different "views" from its productive capacity. This system should allow, in few steps and only in one screen, a complete visualization of the productive capacity, according to some parameters, and to perform a set of actions

    ResumoO objetivo principal desta revisão bibliográfica é sistematizar e determinar qual omaterial de enxerto ósseo de eleição no levantamento do seio maxilar atrófico pela técnica da janelalateral para posterior colocação de implantes dentários (segunda fase cirúrgica) em função da alturaganha de osso. Como objetivo secundário, tentamos avaliar qual o efeito do uso dos promotores decrescimento, da mistura dos diversos biomateriais com osso autólogo e a sobrevivência dos implantesdentários nos diferentes tipos de enxertos. A pesquisa foi realizada na base de dados Pubmed, utilizando-se o total de 22 artigos datados de 2005a 2011. As exclusões deveram-se aos artigos referirem-se a colocação dos implantes dentários numaetapa, a técnica utilizada não ser a janela lateral ou inadequado desenho do estudo.AbstractThe main objective of this literature review was to try with a simple and systematic observer which was the bone graft material of choice in sinus lift of atrophic maxilla for the technic of lateral window, to placing dental implants (second surgical phase) in according the gain of bone height.     Gestão da água e das águas residuais para uma viticultura e enologia sustentáveis no sul de Portugal - Revisão

    Assessing sustainability of the wine industry requires improved characterization of its environmental impacts, namely in terms of water use. Therefore, quantification of water inputs and wastewater (WW) outputs is needed to highlight inefficiencies in wine production and related consequences for the environment. Water use and WW generation in irrigated viticulture and oenology remains insufficiently quantified for dry Mediterranean regions (e.g. South Portugal). This paper is focused on wine production under warm and dry climate conditions in the winegrowing region of Alentejo (South Portugal). This region experiences increasingly dry conditions, while the irrigated area keeps expanding, which puts exacerbates the pressure on existing local and regional water resources. Additionally, more erratic variation in climate conditions and the tendency for increasingly extreme climate events (e.g. heat waves) pose more challenges to Alentejo’s wine sector. We conclude that quantitative information on water use and management is not always easy to obtain or access, which hinders improved strategies and/or policies for water use at farm, winery and region-level. Up-to-date statistics and robust metrics can help to better characterize water use and WW flows for Alentejo’s wine region, while optimizing management in vineyards and wineries, in companies and region-wide. The paper is focused on a “Farm-Winery" scenario, which is the most common in South Portugal's wine sectorA avaliação da sustentabilidade da indústria vitivinícola requer uma caracterização detalhada do seu impacto ambiental, nomeadamente ao nível do factor água. A quantificação detalhada dos consumos de água e das águas residuais produzidas (WW) é crucial para identificação de ineficiências na indústria da vinha e do vinho. A utilização da água e a gestão dos efluentes em viticultura regada e na adega permanecem pouco quantificados nas regiões mediterrânicas. O presente trabalho centra-se na produção de vinho em condições de clima quente e seco, tomando como exemplo a região vitivinícola do Alentejo (Sul de Portugal). A região está sujeita a situações de seca mais frequentes e severas, enquanto a área regada continua em expansão, o que pressiona os recursos hídricos locais e regionais. Além disso, as condições climáticas altamente variáveis e a maior tendência para eventos climáticos extremos (e.g. ondas de calor) colocam desafios ao setor vitivinícola no Sul de Portugal. Concluímos que a informação quantitativa relativa ao uso e gestão de água não está sempre facilmente disponível, limitando a otimização de estratégias e/ou políticas para o uso da água ao nível da vinha, da adega e da região. Dados atualizados e indicadores robustos podem ajudar a caracterizar melhor o uso de água e a geração de água residual na região vitivinícola do Alentejo, otimizando a gestão na vinha e na adega, ao nível da empresa e da região.     Effectiveness of Caregiver-Provided Individual Cognitive Interventions in Older Adults with Dementia

    Background: In a society increasingly committed to promoting an active life in the community, new resources are needed to respond to the needs of citizens with Alzheimer’s disease and other forms of dementia. The potential of several individual cognitive interventions to be provided by caregivers has been explored in the literature. Objective: To synthesize the best available evidence on the effectiveness of caregiver-provided individual cognitive interventions in older adults with dementia. Methods: Systematic review of experimental studies on individual cognitive interventions for older adults with dementia. An initial search of MEDLINE and CINAHL was undertaken. Another search for published and unpublished studies was performed on major healthcare-related online databases in March 2018 and updated in August 2022. This review considered studies that included older adults with dementia, aged 60 years and over. All studies that met the inclusion criteria were assessed for methodological quality using a JBI standardized critical appraisal checklist. Data were extracted using a JBI data extraction form for experimental studies. Results: Eleven studies were included: eight randomized controlled trials and three quasi-experimental studies. Caregiver-provided individual cognitive interventions had several beneficial effects in cognitive domains, including memory, verbal fluency, attention, problem-solving, and autonomy in activities of daily living. Conclusion: These interventions were associated with moderate improvements in cognitive performance and benefits in activities of daily living. In that sense, this work is focused on the development of novel OSILs-API based on amphotericin B through an innovative procedure and the evaluation of the respective biological activity against Leishmania infantum. Several ammonium, methylimidazolium, pyridinium and phosphonium organic cations combined with amphotericin B as anion were synthesized in moderate to high yields and high purities by the water-reduced buffer neutralization method. All prepared compounds were characterized to confirm the desired chemical structure and the specific optical rotation ([α]D25) was also determined. The biological assays performed on L. infantum promastigotes showed increased activity against this parasitic disease when compared with the starting chloride forms and amphotericin B alone, highlighting [P6,6,6,14][AmB] as the most promising formulation. Possible synergism in the antiprotozoal activity was also evaluated for [P6,6,6,14][AmB], since it was proven to be the compound with the highest toxicity. This work reported a simple synthetic method, which can be applied to prepare other organic salts based on molecules containing fragile chemical groups, demonstrating the potential of these OSILs-AmB as possible agents against leishmaniasis.publishersversionpublishe

    Perfil metabólico de cordeiros Santa Inês terminados em confinamento com manejo alimentar restritivo e ad libitum

    Objetivou-se avaliar o perfil metabólico de 24 ovinos Santa Inês, machos, com peso vivo médio inicial de 20±1,25 kg, submetidos à restrição alimentar seguida de realimentação em confinamento, distribuídos em quatro tratamentos com 0, 20, 40 ou 60% de restrição alimentar. Dois ensaios foram desenvolvidos, um referente à restrição e outro à realimentação. Para tanto, foi utilizado delineamento experimental inteiramente ao acaso, com quatro tratamentos e seis repetições. Observou-se na fase de restrição alimentar que houve um decréscimo linear para as concentrações bioquímicas de ureia, glicose, GGT e fósforo; contrariamente, a concentração de colesterol aumentou linearmente ao final do período restritivo. A restrição alimentar influenciou negativamente nas concentrações de triglicerídeos e creatinina, diferentemente, os valores de proteínas totais e albumina apresentaram aumento significativo com o período restritivo. Já na realimentação, observou-se comportamento linear decrescente para ureia, glicose, GGT e magnésio. No segundo ensaio, verificou-se que as concentrações de proteínas totais, globulina e creatinina apresentaram diferença (P<0,05) entre os períodos de coleta. Os níveis de restrição alimentar afetaram o metabolismo proteico e interferiram também no metabolismo energético e mineral e a realimentação resultou em alteração no metabolismo proteico e energético.Palavras-chave: Bioquímica clínica; Jejum; Nutrição; Ovino
