Achieving sustainable construction in the developing countries Of Southeast Asia

    Get PDF
Sustainable construction is a way for the building industry to move towards achieving sustainable development, taking into account environmental, socioeconomic and cultural issues. Differing approaches and differing economic markets lead to different priorities. This paper presents the construction scenario of Southeast Asia and the developments in sustainable construction taking place in the region. Barriers to the implementation of sustainable construction are discussed. A list of recommendations was proposed to drive sustainable construction in the region. In conclusion, the status of sustainable construction in Southeast Asia is still in its infancy. The lack of awareness, training and education and ineffective procurement systems are among the major barriers for sustainable construction in the region. In some countries public policies and regulatory frameworks do not encourage the development of the construction sector. Besides the needs for capacities, technologies and tools, total and ardent commitment by all players in the construction sectors including the governments and the public at large are required in order to achieve sustainable construction in South-East Asia

Study of Flow Over Oscillating Airfoil Models at a Mach Number of 7.0 in Helium

A wind-tunnel study of unsteady flow at a Mach number of 7 in helium has been conducted on several sting-mounted wedge, double-wedge, and flat-plate airfoil models with three different leading-edge radii. The data were obtained by taking high-speed schlieren motion pictures of the decaying motion of the model as it was released from an initial deflection. The shock-wave position observed on the sharp-leading-edge models during the oscillation was compared with that obtained by use of unsteady flow theory as well as steady-state theory. Comparison of theoretical results indicated that no unsteady-flow effects exist over the range of reduced frequencies k, 0.007 less than equal than k less than or equal 0.030, studied experimentally. The experimental results confirmed this finding as no unsteady-flow effects were detected in this reduced-frequency range. Comparison of shock-wave positions measured for the blunt models with those calculated by steady-state methods indicated fair agreement

Purpose: This research aims to determine the effect of either partially or simultaneously of the variable product variation and service quality on customer satisfaction Design/methodology/approach: The data used of primary data which obtained by questionnaire, observation, interview and documentation methods. The sample is 96 customers done by accidental sampling method. The data analysis tool used multiple linear regression model, while hypothesis testing was done by F test and t test at five percent alpha Findings: The result reveal that the product variation and service quality had a significant simultaneous and partial effect on customer satisfaction, furthermore there is evidence the strong relationship between the variables of product variation and service quality with customer satisfaction Research limitations/implications: This research is only carried out in one company as the object of research. Further researchers can conduct research from several companies so that the study results can be generalized Practical implications: The results of this study will provide to the management and the company in increasing profitability through consumer satisfaction. The results of the study also provide theoretical implications as a reference in costumer satisfaction. Originality/value: Determine the effect of product variations and service quality either simultaneously or partially on customer satisfaction.  Paper type: Research pape

The Impact of User-Generated Content, Social Interactions and virtual Economies on Metaverse Environments

    Get PDF
This study examines how user-generated content, social interactions, and virtual economies impact the Metaverse's changing environment. It offers crucial knowledge for policymakers, stakeholders, and developers of the Metaverse in building interesting and long-lasting virtual worlds. The study surveyed 385 respondents from the South Asian demographic using a Likert rating scale through an online survey. Demographic variables were analyzed using SPSS version 29, focusing on frequency and percentage distribution. Means and standard deviations were calculated for each variable and survey item. The main analysis included multiple regression to evaluate hypotheses regarding the interaction between user-generated content, social interaction, and the virtual economy. User-generated content significantly improves Metaverse environments (= 0.22, p<0.01**), highlighting its crucial part in creating immersive virtual spaces. Metaverse environments bene t from social interactions (=0.16, p<0.01**), fostering involvement and community. In the growth of the Metaverse, virtual economies are extremely important (=0.501, p<0.001***), encouraging user participation and innovation. This research, which uses rigorous statistical analysis and focuses on South Asian demographics, offers novel insights into the metaverse dynamics. It serves as a crucial resource for the Metaverse's future growth and development by guiding developers, stakeholders, and policymakers as they navigate the Metaverse's seemingly limitless potential

A conceptual architecture for integrating software defined network and network virtualization with internet of things

    Get PDF
Software defined network (SDN) and network function virtualization (NFV) are new paradigms and technologies of the network which support the best experience of providing functions and services, managing network traffic, and a new way of control. They support virtualization and separating data from control in network devices, as well as provide services in a software-based environment. Internet of things (IoT) is a heterogeneous network with a massive number of connected devices and objects. IoT should be integrated with such technologies for the purpose of providing the capabilities of dynamic reconfiguration with a high level of integration. This paper proposes a conceptual architecture for integrating software defined network (SDN) and NFV with IoT. The proposed work combines the three technologies together in one architecture. It also presents the previous works in this area and takes a look at the theoretical background of those technologies in order to give a complete view of proposed work

ABSTRACT Three phase induction motor has a weakness in controlling the speed which depends only on the input frequency, but this can be reduce with inverter technology. Torque setting on an induction motor with low ripple and transient response form and good steady state is the main criteria of this controller design. First, using a PI controller to obtain these parameters, but with certain conditions. Gain can’t be increased outside the limit, so needed more better response. With the Artificial Intelligent techniques, this deficiency can be reduced. Once technique is using fuzzy logic in design of the controller or with PI controller. Elements of Fuzzy and PI controller for each of the overall aim to solve problems that happen, such as during start motor, no load and load conition. This method using the input of voltage and current on the close loop for calculating the rotor parameters. Controller in this method is designed for speed control which used in vector control for dynamic induction motor analysis. The final result which obtained from the model of fuzzy logic controllers and PI controllers are compared. It’s expected that with fuzzy logic and PI controller can improve and reduce the ripple in motor torque and stator currents. It’s also can simplfy the restrictions on the magnitude of the torque and current values in a specific range on some kind of disturbance.
