Let $f\colon M\to M$ be an expansive homeomorphism with dense topologically hyperbolic periodic points, $M$ a compact manifold. Then there is a local product structure in an open and dense subset of $M$. Moreover, if some topologically hyperbolic periodic point has codimension one, then this local product structure is uniform. Miguel Antonio Caro y el pensamiento conservador ante las independencias hispanoamericanas

Durante el siglo XIX, las vivas polémicas ideológicas sobre la conquista y la colonización de América, se intensificaron entre las elites latinoamericanas. El caso ejemplar fue el del conservador ultramontano Miguel Antonio Caro (1843-1909), militante activo del partido nacionalista de la “Regeneración” y ejecutor como también promotor principal de la “Constitución de 1886”. Su proyecto político concebido como misional y patriótico fue enfurecido en la disutopía que planteó, la de salvaguardar la herencia española y desestimar la ruptura peninsular, que tantos liberales radicales del continente exigieron como presupuesto de desarrollo y civilización de nuestros pueblos. El siguiente artículo hace una estimación de las principales ideas que Caro tuvo frente al problema sociopolítico de las independencias latinoamericanas, la polémica pasional que desató en su defensa de España como su acendrada y acérrima recuperación de la civilización hispánica en nuestros territorios. Al cumplirse los 200 años de nuestro proceso de emancipación, este escrito brinda la posibilidad de repensarnos en la construcción de nuestra identidad y construcción de la nacionalidad, a partir de uno de los líderes, dirigentes y batalladores insignes del pensamiento latinoamericano

Machine learning techniques applied to multiband spectrum sensing in cognitive radios

Also, this work was supported by the Program for Professional Development Teacher (PRODEP).In this work, three specific machine learning techniques (neural networks, expectation maximization and k-means) are applied to a multiband spectrum sensing technique for cognitive radios. All of them have been used as a classifier using the approximation coefficients from a Multiresolution Analysis in order to detect presence of one or multiple primary users in a wideband spectrum. Methods were tested on simulated and real signals showing a good performance. The results presented of these three methods are effective options for detecting primary user transmission on the multiband spectrum. PWM Control of a Buck Converter with an Amorphous Core Coil

Pulse-width modulation is widely used to control electronic converters. One of the most topologies used for high DC voltage/low DC voltage conversion is the Buck converter. It is obtained as a second order system with a LC filter between the switching subsystem and the load. The use of a coil with an amorphous magnetic material core instead of air core lets design converters with smaller size. If high switching frequencies are used for obtaining high quality voltage output, the value of the auto inductance L is reduced throughout the time. Then, robust controllers are needed if the accuracy of the converter response must not be affected by auto inductance and load variations. This paper presents a robust controller for a Buck converter based on a state space feedback control system combined with an additional virtual space variable which minimizes the effects of the inductance and load variations when a not-toohigh switching frequency is applied. The system exhibits a null steady-state average error response for the entire range of parameter variations. Simulation results are presented
