INFLUENCE OF COMPONENTS OF METABOLIC SYNDROME ON THE PATIENTS’ LIFE QUALITY

We researched the influence of components of metabolic syndrome on the indices of patients' life quality. Patients with abdominal obesity and different combination of components of metabolic syndrome were studied. The assessment of indices of life quality was conducted using MOS SF-36 enquirer. It was found that each component of metabolic syndrome might decrease indices of physical and mental health. In case of long existence of single components of metabolic syndrome the combination of most of them and aggravation of physical activity, emotional state, general and mental health

Non-Equivalence in Translation: Russian-German Diachronic Corpus-Based Dictionaries of Non-Equivalent Units

This paper explores the essence of lexical units with no direct equivalents in other languages and introduces a bilingual dictionary of a new type. Such a dictionary is built upon a diachronic corpus of parallel translations with due consideration of the principles of present-day lexicography. The suggested diachronic German-Russian glossary of non-equivalent vocabulary – realia – presents the mega-, macro- and microstructure of a diachronic translation dictionary. The glossary is of a holistic character: it can provide information on the ways different realia were translated in various periods and thus reflect the creative role of translation plurality; it can also influence the formation of translating competence, acquisition of translating skills and skills of comparative analysis

Effect of nitrogenous bases on the thermal stability of jet fuels

Fuels from naphthenic petroleums were evaluated, and it was found that they had more N bases than those paraffinic ones (0.00024 and 0.000009% N, respectively). The removal of the N bases improved significantly the thermal stability and reduced the residue formation during oxidation of the fuel. The improvement depended on both content and composition of the bases. Thus, fuels with similar content of N bases (0.00058% N) and thermal stability had oxidation residues of 17.5 and 5.6 and sol. gum of 13 and 1.5 mg/100 ml, before and after removing the N bases, respectively

The author consecutively considers the introduction of intermittent use of ibandronate (I), by determining its single dose and annual cumulative dose. She presents data on the adequate antiresorptive activity of intermittent treatment, shows it necessary to design an intravenous dosage form of the drug and gives detailed data on the efficacy of parenteral I. The fact that the agent may be used in secondary (steroidal) osteoporosis is provided. There is evidence that the risk of extravertebral and all clinical fractures reduces when I is intravenously injected in a dose of 3 mg quarterly and orally administered in a dose of 150 mg monthly.Последовательно рассмотрено внедрение интермиттирующего назначения ибандроната (И) с определением его однократной дозы и годовой кумулятивной дозы. Приведены данные о достаточной антирезорбтивной активности прерывистого курса лечения. Показана необходимость создания внутривенной формы препарата и подробно представлены данные об эффективности парентерального И, освещена возможность его применения при вторичном (стероидном) остеопорозе. Приведены доказательства уменьшения риска внепо-звоночньа и всех клинических переломов при внутривенном введении 3 мг И ежеквартально и пероральном приеме 150 мг ежемесячно
