Effects of introducing a parametric Cad in a first year course in engineering degree regarding quality of technical drawings
Comunicació presentada al ICERI 2019 12th annual International Conference of Education, Research and Innovation (Seville, Spain. 11-13 November, 2019).The evolution of teaching in technical drawing during the last years has been addressed towards new paradigms based on 3D modeling. Nevertheless, not only 3D modeling skills are important for an engineer, but the ability to generate quality technical drawings also are part of the learning objectives and should, therefore, be included in the curriculum. For several years, the core subject of technical drawing at Universitat Jaume I has been a common subject during the first course of different Engineering bachelor’s degrees (Mechanical, Industrial Technologies, Electrical, Chemical, and Agrifood/Rural). However, in the last two years, the subject in the case of Agrifood Engineering has been taught independently. This course, aiming for a more intuitive introduction to 3D modeling, the subject has experienced a general methodological change for all the degrees, except for the Agrifood Engineering one. Apart from changing the order of contents with the intention of improving spatial vision, the use of a different commercial CAD software was implemented, this being parametric.
In a previous work, the effect of this general methodological change was assessed through the academic performance regarding 3D modeling by comparing the scores before and after implementing the change, as well as through specific questionnaires addressed to students and teachers, obtaining very positive results. Notwithstanding, the effects of the change performed on the obtainment of technical drawings were not analyzed. Taking advantage of having two groups (the one that has experienced the change and the one that did not), they were asked to model and generate the drawing of the same parts in their final exams, with the aim of comparing the scores obtained when assessing their skills of modeling, but also in creating technical drawings (views, sections and dimensioning) and in the quality on technical drawings presentation (title block, line thickness, etc.). Scores were collected and statistical analyses were performed, bringing to light that despite the good results that were obtained in previous studies regarding the 3D modeling, teaching efforts in how to generate technical drawings with quality should be reinforced in future
Sharing of hand kinematic synergies across subjects in daily living activities
The motor system is hypothesised to use kinematic synergies to simplify hand control. Recent studies suggest that there is a large set of synergies, sparse in degrees of freedom, shared across subjects, so that each subject performs each action with a sparse combination of synergies. Identifying how synergies are shared across subjects can help in prostheses design, in clinical decision-making or in rehabilitation. Subject-specific synergies of healthy subjects performing a wide number of representative daily living activities were obtained through principal component analysis. To make synergies comparable between subjects and tasks, the hand kinematics data were scaled using normative range of motion data. To obtain synergies sparse in degrees of freedom a rotation method that maximizes the sum of the variances of the squared loadings was applied. Resulting synergies were clustered and each cluster was characterized by a core synergy and different indexes (prevalence, relevance for function and within-cluster synergy similarity), substantiating the sparsity of synergies. The first two core synergies represent finger flexion and were present in all subjects. The remaining core synergies represent coordination of the thumb joints, thumb-index joints, palmar arching or fingers adduction, and were employed by subjects in different combinations, thus revealing different subject-specific strategies
Diseño e implementación de una red de acceso con fibra óptica utilizando tecnología VDSL/FTTX para mejorar los servicios de telecomunicaciones, de la Corporación Nacional de Telecomunicaciones Empresa Pública en Guano.
En el presente trabajo de investigación se detalla el diseño e Implementación de una Red de Acceso con Fibra Óptica utilizando Tecnología VDSL/FTTX, para mejorar los servicios de telecomunicaciones, en la Corporación Nacional de Telecomunicaciones Empresa Pública en Guano. Como primer punto se realizó un análisis del estado del arte de las redes FTTX que utilizan tecnología VDSL desde sus inicios hasta la actualidad. El trabajo se realizó en tres fases principales; recopilación, el análisis de los datos y la implementación de la red. Se realizaron mediciones de parámetros eléctricos en 427 redes telefónicas en diferentes sectores del cantón de Guano, lo cual permitió determinar la ubicación del sector con mayor deficiencia de servicio, en el cual se implementó la red de acceso con fibra óptica utilizando la tecnología VDSL / FTTC para mejorar los servicios de telecomunicaciones de los clientes. Se realizó el Diseño, la simulación e implementación de red, conforme a las Reglamento de diseño de planta externa con plataformas de acceso externo para despliegue de red con tecnología VDSL / FTTC, de Corporación nacional de Telecomunicaciones CNT EP., en el sector de la Cisne en el cantón de Guano. Finalmente se procedió con nuevas mediciones de los parámetros eléctricos en la nueva red implementada, para verificar el funcionamiento. Evidenciando que la Red de Acceso de Fibra Óptica utilizando tecnología VDSL / FTTC implementada, cumple con todos los requisitos solicitados por la CNT EP. Asegurando el funcionamiento óptimo del servicio de voz y datos proporcionado por la empresa en el sector. Cumpliendo con el objetivo principal propuesto al comienzo del trabajo que es mejorar la calidad del servicio de los clientes actuales, así como garantizar la prestación de un servicio eficiente a los futuros clientes.This research work details the design and implementation of a Fiber Optic Access Network using VDSL/FTTX Technology, to improve telecommunications services, in Corporación Nacional de Telecomunicaciones Public Company in Guano. Evidencing that the Fiber Optic Access Network using VDSL / FTTC technology implemented, meets all the requirements requested by the CNT EP. Ensuring the optimal operation of the voice and data service provided by the company in the sector. And thus fulfill the main objective proposed at the beginning of the work; this is to improve the quality of service of current customers, as well as to assure the provision of an efficient service to future customers

Teaching innovation through TikTok in Physiotherapy Degree
[ES] INTRODUCCIÓN: Social networks play an important role as a means of communication. Their use is considered almost essential in educational environments (Marín-Díaz & Cabero-Almenara, 2019). They stimulate creativity, encourage autonomy and promote teamwork. TikTok is a social network for viewing, creating and sharing short videos. Its use in the university environment has had positive effects on learning (Escamilla-Fajardo et al., 2021). OBJETIVOS: To determine whether the use of TikTok improves learning and motivates students of the Degree in Physiotherapy at the University of León. METODOLOGÍA: The sample consisted of 52 physiotherapy students of the University of León. A quasi-experimental study was designed and the participants were divided into groups. Each group created video content with TikTok on some aspect related to the subjects taught. The students were given a self-administered ad hoc questionnaire with 16 questions about their experience of this activity. For this using a Likert-type scale for 5 levels of perception (being 1- totally disagree and 5- totally agree). RESULTADOS: The mean age of the students surveyed was 21.4 ± 1.9 Years. As for gender, 36.54 % (N=19) of the respondents were male and 63.46 % (N=33) were female. The results obtained show responses with scores between 3 and 4 in ten of the sixteen items. Four items scored between 2 and 3, and only two of the items, corresponding to teamwork and fun, scored between 4 and 5. CONCLUSIÓN: Using the social network TikTok in an educational context would favor the implementation of various components for learning in Physiotherapy students, especially the enjoyment in the activity and collaborative work. This coincides with other studies which confirm that the use of social networks for pedagogical purposes is beneficial when implementing collaborative work
BORGES Y LA CONSTRUCCIÓN NO FICCIONAL DE UN IMAGINARIO ARGENTINO
Borges, in his productions, showed his aptitude to generate new speeches departing from the classic genres. This way not only allowed him to construct new communicative possibilities but also it helped him to shape little by little new configurations of the individual, principally, as social subject. In this respect we will approach the «compadrito» in his process of decline and final. In «La muerte y la brújula» we will approach the different portraits that it he developed in a crossing to discipline of the areas socio-political and literary. From the first look he constructs by means of a fiction-not fiction type of social concrete individual of our Argentine history: the «compadrito». For it, he placed the prominent figures in a series of landscapes and spaces formed with plastic resources. Especially this observes in the treatment that it gave him to the conclusion of the work: «the periodic series of facts of blood that culminated in the Triste-Le-Roy Inn between the endless smell of the eucalyptuses». The textual hybridization between fiction and not fiction realizes of the permanent need of re-important analysis and of his sense in this century that is showing a series of actors and emergent social that often might be social memories of those others that lived during last century.Borges, en sus producciones, mostró su capacidad de generar nuevos discursos partiendo de los géneros literarios clásicos. Así no solamente construyó nuevas posibilidades comunicativas sino que fue, poco a poco, plasmando novedosas configuraciones del individuo, principalmente como sujeto social. En este sentido abordaremos al «compadrito» en su proceso de declinación y su final. En «La muerte y la brújula» analizaremos los distintos retratos que desarrolló en un cruzamiento disciplinar de las áreas socio-política y literaria. Desde la primera mirada, Borges construye mediante una ficción-no ficcional un tipo de individuo social concreto de nuestra historia argentina: el compadrito. Para ello, colocó a los personajes en una serie de paisajes y espacios configurados con recursos plásticos. Sobre todo, esto se observa en el tratamiento que le dio al desenlace de la obra, «la periódica serie de hechos de sangre que culminaron en la quinta de Triste-le-Roy entre el interminable olor de los eucaliptos». La hibridación textual entre ficción y no ficción da cuenta de la permanente necesidad de un análisis re-significado y de su sentido en este siglo que va mostrando una serie de actores y emergentes sociales que, muchas veces, podrían ser memorias sociales de aquellos otros que vivieron durante el siglo pasado
Discapacidad intelectual y Dispositivos móviles
El presente trabajo pretende abordar la funcionalidad de las nuevas tecnologías desde el punto de vista del usuario con discapacidad intelectual, concretamente la de los dispositivos/localizadores móviles. Los principales objetivos de este trabajo fueron observar en qué medida el usuario fue capaz de discriminar en qué situaciones debía/no debía hacer uso del dispositivo, aprender a bloquear/desbloquear el Smartphone y realizar la carga de la batería de forma autónoma. Para ello, se realizó un test de evaluación, el cual contenía diferentes dibujos del Smartphone relacionados con los objetivos anteriormente citados (ver Anexos I, II, III y IV). Una vez confeccionado el test de evaluación, se invitó al participante del estudio a realizarlo. Previamente se diseñó y presentó al usuario, un test en el que debía seleccionar uno de los iconos planteados que le sugería “situación de peligro” (ver Anexos V, VI y VII) con el fin de que formara parte de uno de los botones del dispositivo. Por último, señalar que los resultados obtenidos, en mayor o menor medida apoyan las hipótesis sobre el logro de los objetivos planteados previamente
