    Expanded Perlite-Polyphosphoric Acid (EP-PPA) as a Low-Cost Heterogeneous Solid Acid Catalyst for Green and Metal-Free Synthesis of Nitriles from Aldehydes

    Expanded Perlite-Polyphosphoric Acid (EP-PPA) as a solid acid catalyst reported earlier by our group, has been found to be very effective for direct transformation of aldehydes into nitriles. The aforesaid catalyst exhibited excellent catalytic activity in high yielding preparation of a wide range of nitriles under solvent-free conditions. Furthermore, the method consistently has the advantages of environmental acceptability, short reaction times, excellent functional group compatibility and easy experimental and work-up procedures. Importantly, catalyst reusability up to six runs with little loss of catalytic activity made the present procedure better than the most previously reported protocols

    The emergence of big data, as well as advancements in data science approaches and technology, is providing pharmaceutical companies with an opportunity to gain novel insights that can enhance and accelerate drug development. It will increasingly help government, health agencies, players, and providers to make decisions about such issues as drug discovery, patient access, and marketing. In this paper we use scenario planning tools and system dynamic to evaluate the impact of emergent technology such as big data &cloud &in healthcare industry. In this case we have four scenarios of big data and emergent tech transformation in Iran health care industry.La aparición de grandes volúmenes de datos, así como los avances en los enfoques y la tecnología de la ciencia de datos, brindan a las compañías farmacéuticas la oportunidad de obtener información novedosa que puede mejorar y acelerar el desarrollo de medicamentos. Ayudará cada vez más al gobierno, agencias de salud, jugadores y proveedores a tomar decisiones sobre temas como el descubrimiento de medicamentos, el acceso de pacientes y la comercialización. En este documento, utilizamos herramientas de planificación de escenarios y dinámica del sistema para evaluar el impacto de la tecnología emergente, como Big Data y nube, y en la industria de la salud. En este caso, tenemos cuatro escenarios de big data y transformación de tecnología emergente en la industria del cuidado de la salud de IránO surgimento de grandes volumes de dados, bem como os avanços nas abordagens e tecnologias da ciência de dados, estão proporcionando às empresas farmacêuticas uma oportunidade de obter novos insights que possam melhorar e acelerar o desenvolvimento de medicamentos.     Sun-light-driven Suzuki-Miyaura Cross-coupling using a Novel Superparamagnetic Metal-organic Framework Catalyst

    A prominent catalytic activity for sun-light driven Suzuki-Miyaura cross-coupling reaction has been shown in the presence of superparamagnetic core-shell metal-organic framework (Fe3O4@Ni-Co-BTC NPs) (with particle size 10–47 nm) and unique bimetallic core-shell nanostructure). Various aryl halides with electron-donating or electron-withdrawing substituents were coupled with different arylboronic acids towards corresponding products at ambient temperature in H2O. The results of photocatalysis demonstrate that Fe3O4@Ni-Co-BTC NPs is a good photocatalyst under sun light irradiation with high efficiency, chemoselectivity and functional group tolerance. This magnetic separable nanostructured catalyst can be reused more than six times with minimal loss of catalytic activity rendering this catalyst long-term stability. The results acquired in the present study can serve as inspiration for the further exploitation of the sun-light-driven cross-coupling reaction under mild conditions.     A mild, efficient, and practical method for one-step synthesis of alkanoyl and aroyl isothiocyanates from carboxylic acids using a safe and inexpensive mixed reagent, trichloroisocyanuric acid/triphenyl¬phosphine is described at room temperature.     Conformational behaviour of mannuronic acid based azasugars

    A set of mannuronic acid based iminosugars, comprising the C-5-carboxylic acid, -methyl ester and -amide analogues of 1-deoxymannorjirimicin (DMJ), was synthesized and their pH dependent conformational behavior studied. Under acidic conditions the methyl ester and the carboxylic acid took up an "inverted" 1C4 chair conformation as opposed to the "normal" 4C1 chair at basic pH. This conformational change is explained by the stereoelectronic effects of the ring substituents and it parallels the behavior of the mannuronic acid ester oxocarbenium ion. Because of this solution phase behavior, the mannuronic acid ester azasugar was probed as an inhibitor for a Caulobacter GH47 mannosidase that hydrolyzes its substrates following a reaction itinerary that proceeds through a 3H4 transition state. No binding was observed for the mannuronic acid ester azasugar, but sub-atomic resolution data were obtained for the DMJ-CkGH47 complex, showing two conformations, 3S1 and 1C4, for the DMJ inhibitor
