Today, research has indicated Knowledge based companies as a potential area in promoting knowledge economy, and due to the substantial added-value they make in the knowledge economy of the countries, these companies play a pivotal role in producing national income. Considering the novelty of the field of designing business models for herbal pharmaceutical Knowledge based companies and the importance of these companies among Knowledge based companies on the one hand, and the lack of academic research on exploring these companies on the other hand, the need for a comprehensive business model to help understand the components of herbal pharmaceutical Knowledge based companies seems urgent. This study aimed at identifying and prioritizing the components of business models and also structuring a business model of herbal pharmaceutical Knowledge based companies around these components. The Friedman test was used to prioritize the importance of the components of Knowledge based companies' business models. The statements of the present study's questionnaire were collected from the literature and the experts' opinions, too. Out of the 130 distributed questionnaires, 119 were collected which were analyzed by employing the Cochran test of the SPSS Statistics software. The components of key activities with the mean ranking of 6.76, cost structure with 6.09, and key resources with 6.06 were the most important components and customer relationships with 5.67, value propositions with 5.45, key partnerships with 4.10, distribution channels with 4.04, customer segment with 3.60, and revenue streams with 3.24 were the least important ones. Average Energy Efficiency Contours for Single Carrier AWGN MAC

    Get PDF
Energy efficiency has become increasingly important in wireless communications, with significant environmental and financial benefits. This paper studies the achievable capacity region of a single carrier uplink channel consisting of two transmitters and a single receiver, and uses average energy efficiency contours to find the optimal rate pair based on four different targets: Maximum energy efficiency, a trade-off between maximum energy efficiency and rate fairness, achieving energy efficiency target with maximum sum-rate and achieving energy efficiency target with fairness. In addition to the transmit power, circuit power is also accounted for, with the maximum transmit power constrained to a fixed value. Simulation results demonstrate the achievability of the optimal energy-efficient rate pair within the capacity region, and provide the trade-off for energy efficiency, fairness and maximum sum-rate

A multilevel evolutionary algorithm for optimizing numerical functions

    Get PDF
This is a study on the effects of multilevel selection (MLS) theory in optimizing numerical functions. Based on this theory, a Multilevel Evolutionary Optimization algorithm (MLEO) is presented. In MLEO, a species is subdivided in cooperative populations and then each population is subdivided in groups, and evolution occurs at two levels so called individual and group levels. A fast population dynamics occurs at individual level. At this level, selection occurs among individuals of the same group. The popular genetic operators such as mutation and crossover are applied within groups. A slow population dynamics occurs at group level. At this level, selection happens among groups of a population. The group level operators such as regrouping, migration, and extinction-colonization are applied among groups. In regrouping process, all the groups are mixed together and then new groups are formed. The migration process encourages an individual to leave its own group and move to one of its neighbour groups. In extinction-colonization process, a group is selected as extinct, and replaced by offspring of a colonist group. In order to evaluate MLEO, the proposed algorithms were used for optimizing a set of well known numerical functions. The preliminary results indicate that the MLEO theory has positive effect on the evolutionary process and provide an efficient way for numerical optimization

Study on the Impact of Polymer Concentration and Coagulation Bath Temperature on the Porosity of Polyethylene Membranes Fabricated Via TIPS Method

    Get PDF
Microporous high density polyethylene flat membranes were fabricated via thermally induced phase separation (TIPS) method. Effects of polymer concentration and coagulation bath temperature on the membrane morphology and porosity were investigated. To the best of our knowledge, there is no work about the order of magnitude and degree of importance of influential parameters and their interactions on the microstructure of fabricated membranes. The results showed that the porosity of membranes decreased as the polymer concentration increased. It was also shown that, due to the short contact time and rapid phase inversion between coagulation bath and membrane’s outer surfaces, bath temperature mainly affects on the outer surface porosity. The results obtained from analysis of variance (ANOVA) using 95% confidence interval on the membrane porosity revealed that the effect of polymer concentration is more important than coagulation bath temperature

In this research, we analyzed the common errors of three highly visited news websites of Iran within three syntactic, morphological and typographic-orthographic level to scrutinize the pitfalls of news websites. The data was gathered from three news websites of ALEF, ASRE-IRAN AND TABNAK which are listed among the most visited news websites in Iran based on Alexa ranking site. The findings showed that in studying the syntactic level of the materials on the news sites, one can face with a breach in the unmarked constituent order of Persian language and asymmetrical verbs deletion. Furthermore, the writing errors in the news are more of the typographical errors, and lack of using punctuations in the news and the commonest linguistic errors in morphological level in news sites are lexical redundancy

    Get PDF
Since ancient times, people have tried to predict earthquakes using simple perceptions such as animal behavior. The prediction of the time and strength of an earthquake is of primary concern. In this study chaotic signal modeling is used based on noise and detecting anomalies before an earthquake using artificial neural networks (ANNs). Artificial neural networks are efficient tools for solving complex problems such as prediction and identification. In this study, the effective features of chaotic signal model is obtained considering noise and detection of anomalies five minutes before an earthquake occurrence. Neuro-fuzzy classifier and MLP neural network approaches showed acceptable accuracy of 84.6491% and 82.8947%, respectively. Results demonstrate that the proposed method is an effective seismic signal model based on noise and anomaly detection before an earthquake
