ANALISIS SEMIOTIKA ROLAND BARTHES TENTANG FENOMENA JILBOOBS
Hijab/jilbab is a cloth to cover all of women’s body except face and two palms. Now, there is one controversial Hijab trend, which is Jilboobs phenomenon. Basically, jilboobs means have deviation meaning from the nature of veil. Jilboobs is a critic to Muslim women who wear hijab, but they still wear tight dress or blouse. It causes their indentation body looked very clear, especially in her chest. Then, the jilboobs phenomenon is a sign in fashion culture which very interference how Muslim teenagers to dress up now. The function of jibab is not to cover women genitals anymore, but it becomes a mode that break out the religion rules. The jilboobs phenomenon is a negative connotation from the real jilbab function. The writers used Semiotics theory from Roland Barthes to discuss this jilboobs phenomenon. It tried to reveal about abusing the real jilbab function as covering Muslim women’s genitals and a religion symbol
An Investigation of the Relationship between English Language Proficiency and Information Technology Literacy
Today's dependence on technology has changed how we view literacy. Literacy no longer means to have only the ability to read and write. Literate people now must be able to use the computer and other communication technologies in handling the vast information. In conjunction with this, there is a need to study what is meant by Information Technology (IT) literacy and what is required to be IT literate. This study was based on the belief that proficiency in the language of technology, that is the English language, would enhance IT literacy. Hence, the
relationship between two variables, English language proficiency and IT literacy, was studied. Proficiency was identified through students' scores in the SPM English examination while IT literacy was identified through the IT proficiency questionnaire. Other contributing factors to IT literacy were also discussed. 257 second year UPM students from five different faculties provided the qualitative and quantitative data for this study. They were given a set of
questionnaire to respond to and were briefly interviewed for further insights. Data were then analysed. Both descriptive qualitative and quantitative analyses provided the answer to the five research questions that motivated the study. Subject to the limitations of the study, the results showed a significant relationship between English language proficiency and IT literacy. In other words, proficiency in the English language tends to enhance IT literacy. This is because IT literacy requires the skill to use computers and other communication technologies. This skill can be acquired through hands-on experience and
exploration which requires a profound proficiency level of the language of technology, that is the English language. Hence, one must be proficient in the English language to be IT literate
Inferring functional dependencies for XML storage
XML allows redundancy of data with its hierarchical structure where its elements may be nested and repeated. This will make the same information appear in more than one place; in fact it allows the same elements appear at different sub-trees. With this capability, XML is easier to understand and to parse, while to recover this information would require less joins. This is in contrast to relational data for which the normalized theory has been developed for eliminating data redundancy. Therefore how to detect redundancy in XML data is important before mapping can be done. In this paper, we use functional dependencies to detect data redundancies in XML documents. Based on inferring other functional dependencies from the given ones, we proposed an algorithm for mapping XML DTDs to relational schemas. The result is a “good relational schema” in terms of reducing data redundancy and preserving the semantic constraints
Identity Exploration of Arabic Teachers: the Efforts to Become a Driving Teacher
To realize the driving of teachers as planned by the government, it cannot be separated from various forms of professional competence that must be mastered as teachers’ identity. However, the identity, which is the qualification standard, is not evenly shared by Arabic language teachers, especially in several districts in the Kalimantan region. Therefore, this research aims to describe the identity of Arabic teachers as driving teacher resources in Arabic language learning to become driving teacher figures in the Kalimantan Region. This research uses a mixed method, combining qualitative and quantitative methods using a concurrent triangulation design. The research results show that the identity of Arabic teachers in Central Kalimantan is formed from their experiences so far, which require them to do more even though some do not have a non-Arabic language educational background. The emotional aspect of Arabic teachers who teach the Arabic language used in the Al-Quran and hadith fosters the teacher's enthusiasm to become a motivator, inspiration, and facilitator who always looks for solutions to problems in learning Arabic. Even though the teachers are located in the regions, this does not reduce the teachers' identity as teachers with pedagogical, social, personal, and professional competencies. Individuals who play the role of teachers always learn continuously throughout life and have the moral, emotional, and spiritual maturity to behave according to a code of ethics: planning, implementing, reflecting, and evaluating learning. This research recommends exploring the identity of Arabic teachers not only at the regional level but also at the national level
Compost Oil Palm and Indigenous Endophytic Fungi Effect on Basal Stem Rot in Oil Palm Seedling
Basal stem rot (BSR) caused by Ganoderma is an important disease of oil palm in North Sumatra, Indonesia. Control of BSR is complex, because the disease occurs in the dynamic environment at the interface of the roots with soil. Compost with endophytic fungi as a biological fertilizer offer possible advantages and eventually suppressed ganoderma growth. A study using two compost oil palm (empty fruit bunch and palm oil midrib-leaf compost) containing indigenous endophytic fungi (Trichoderma koningii, T. viride, and Aspergillus sp.) singly and in a mixture was conducted to determine potential of them to control Ganoderma. The result showed that 16 weeks after artificial inoculation, all treatments aren't significant difference reduced BSR incidence but compost containing endophytic fungi have potential to inhibit the pathogen showed BSR incidence in a mixture treated lower than singly treated seedling
The Increasing of N, P, and K Nutrient in Palm Oil Under Prenursery Seedling By Application of Palm Oil Waste Compost and Endofitic Microbes
Improvement of palm oil nutrient status since at the nursery is one of the efforts to improve plant resistance to Ganoderma attacks. Compost from palm oil waste and potentially endophytic microbes could potentially increase plant nutrients, especially N, P and K. This study aims to determine the potential of oil palm waste compost and endophytic microbes in increasing N, P and K in the plant oil palm under prenursery seedling. The study was conducted in a factorial experiment with the factors tested were types of compost, type and time of endophytic microbial inoculation. Research results indicating that the levels of N, P and K plants are not affected by the main factors and factor interactions of three factors. The concentration of of N, P, K soil is influenced by the interaction effect of two factors. The empty fruit bunch compost enriched every type endophyte showed better effects than compost midrib in increasing levels of P and K nutrient in plants and plant growth The application endofitic microbe after and before Ganoderma application inreased phosphor and potassium in plant and growth plant
Pengembangan Game Edukasi Etnomatematika Tenun Ikat Bandar pada Materi Transformasi
This paper is a Research and Development to make an educational game learning called Puzzle TEKAD (Tenun Ikat Bandar), which is aimed at transforming material for 9th grade students. The software developed using Construct 2 by applying the ADDIE development model which includes 5 main stages, namely Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation. The tools used in this paper include expert verification forms, practitioner questionnaires, black box tests, student response questionnaires, and student assessment forms. The results show that the product validity is in a very good category, with an average score of 4.95 for media experts, 4.15 for materials experts, and 4.66 for field practitioners. Based on group experiments, educational games fall into the utility category, as all aspects of functional testing using black-box testing work well. The product effectiveness aspect falls under the effective category based on student assessment results, which shows that all scores are higher than KKM. It can be concluded that the TEKAD educative game meets the aspects of feasibility, practicality, and effectiveness in teaching transform materials in 9 school grade
Pengembangan Media Pembelajaran Berbasis Android pada Materi Suku Banyak (Polinomial)
This study aims to develop android-based mathematics learning media on polynomial material that is valid, practical, and effective for use in learning. This type of research is research and development by applying a 4-D development model which has stages consisting of: define, design, develop, and disseminate. The data collection instruments used were an expert validation questionnaire, practicality questionnaire, and pretest-posttest questions. The subjects of this study were students of class XII SMAN Gogol. The results show that the assessments of material experts and media experts obtained valid criteria. In the practical aspect, the learning media are stated to be very practical to use as a support for learning from the assessment of teachers and students. In the pretest-posttest results of students, the increase in learning outcomes is at the "medium" level seen from the n-gain test scores so the "Pintar Polinomial" learning media is declared to be effectively used in learning polynomial material. Relationship between the industry specialist auditors and financial reporting timeliness under MFRS
This paper aims to identify the association between financial reporting timeliness and the presence of industry specialist auditors. The auditor’s report lag (ARL) is used as a proxy for the financial reporting timeliness. The association between the two factors was
examined through the resource dependence theory. Data comprise the 2012 annual reports of 796 Malaysian public listed companies and 342 of these companies had fully complied with the Malaysian Financial Reporting Standards (MFRS). From the results noted, it appears that financial reporting timeliness can be improved through the engagement of industry specialist auditors. This outcome contributes to the existing literature in auditing
by enlarging the empirical evidence that was assessed with four different methods
