The aim of this study was to determine the relationships between metacognitive awareness, learning styles, and reading comprehension. The study was conducted in the District of Hulu Langat with a total of 284 students who were randomly sampled from two boarding and two day schools. The Metacognitive Awareness Inventory (MAl) was used to assess the metacognitive awareness level of the students. The Barsch Learning-style Inventory (BLSI) categorized the students into auditory, tactile, and visual learners. To assess the students' reading comprehension ability, they sat for the reading comprehension test. Frequency distribution, independent t-test, and Pearson correlation test were used to analyze the data. The students' metacognitive awareness scores indicated that the females had a higher metacognitive awareness (x = 129.72) than the males (x = 129.62). Furthermore, statistically students from the day schools had a better metacognitive awareness level (x = 132.16) than those in the boarding schools (x = 125.86). Analysis showed that the males were more auditory (x = 18.36) and visual (x = 20.66) than the females. However, the females were more tactile (x = 17.70). Moreover, the day school students were more auditory (x = 18.38) and tactile (x = 17.51) than the boarding school students. Nevertheless, the boarding school students were more visual (x = 20.78)

While performing their duties in an organization, an employee performance can be viewed through the provision of rewards, benefits, pay levels and pay for their administration. It was called work performance. The inquiry based on part-time students to master, in relation to the satisfaction of reward, it has 4 items, which pay level, benefit satisfaction has roughly three main items, namely training, health and rights, then there also raise satisfaction and salary administration. It is because; this research title is aimed to determine the Relationship between reward satisfaction and work performance. The objective of this study are; to examine relationship between pay level and work performance, to examine relationship between benefits and work performance, to examine relationship between raise satisfaction and work performance and to examine relationship between salary administrative and work performance. A total of 138 questionnaires were distributed to 138 part time postgraduate students at UUM Campus KL and UUM Campus Sintok, Kedah by e-mail and only 116 questionnaires were returned for analysis. Data were analyzed using both descriptive and inferential statistical analysis to interpret data. Research findings revealed there was work performance existing among the respondents. Significant values for each element in independent variable which the item of reward such as pay level, benefit, raise and structure. The higher significant value of independent variables are work performance and item benefits, 0.152 > 0.05. It does can refer from the Heneman and Schwab (1985) which are studied about the pay level, benefit, raise satisfaction and salary administrative. For the individual’s pay level also play an important role in individual work performance and more substantial evidence which are reference for various pay and benefit combinations that are as a function of personal characteristic of employees. There are including with the four dimensions of reward satisfaction; level, benefit, raise and structure (Heneman & Schwab, 1985)

This study examined the receptive and productive English vocabulary knowledge of tertiary students. Vocabulary Levels Test (VLT) consisted of three tests, namely Passive Vocabulary Test (PVT), Controlled Active Vocabulary Test (CAVT), and Free Active Vocabulary Test (FAVT) was used to collect the data. A total of 360 first-, second- and third-year university students were involved in the study. The findings revealed that majority of them had very limited lexical knowledge to use English as their second or foreign language, though formal exposures to English language had been given to them for at least 11 years before entering the tertiary level. In trying to unfold the unsuccessful attempt to enhance the students’ lexical competent through the present Malaysian education system, the issue of lexical input in terms of quantity and quality had been raised

AbstractLearning how to solve mathematical problems has been a long withstanding difficulty faced by students and has been given constant focus in mathematical development. Successful problem solvers spend more time analyzing a problem and they will find all the alternatives related to the situation. Therefore many educators (Cai, 2003, National Council of Teachers of Mathematics, 2000; Smith, 1991) agreed that teaching mathematics through problem solving hold great promise. Furthermore, according to the Malaysian Curriculum Development Centre (2003), one of the important objectives in teaching mathematics is to develop student's mathematical problem solving skills. Mathematical problems are not simply computational tasks type but are problems which also require appropriate selection of strategies and decisions that lead to logical solutions. Word problem solving is one of the important components of mathematics problem solving which incorporate real-life problems and applications. However, many researches revealed that students express great difficulties in handling a word or story problem. This study examined the use of visual representations which posed great difficulties in most mathematical tasks. Secondary students were given the 15Mathematical Processing Instrument (MPI) adapted from Hegarty and Kozhevnikov (1999). This study examined 381 students from eight secondary schools in three different districts in Malacca. Results indicated that less than two percent of the problems were solved using pictorial representation and most of the students preferred to used schematics solutions

This quantitative research aims to determine the relationship between rewards system and career planning and career success of an individual. The study is to help to reveal whether rewards system do have any influences of an individual career planning and career success. It will help to identify the most significant rewards that influenced the individual career planning and career success. With this information it would help an organization to relook at their rewards system and decision can be made to either to enhance the most significant rewards or to eliminate it that is not giving any impact. In this study there are two dimensions are measured for Rewards system and they are monetary rewards and non-monetary rewards. Under the two dimensions there are four sub dimensions and they are basic salary, incentives & allowance, recognition and exposure. While the Career Planning and Success has also two dimensions with three sub dimensions. The sub dimensions that measured Career Planning and Success are awareness of self and environment, goal setting and career success. Data was gathered through questionnaires survey that was distributed out to a1 employee, who either employed with private sector or government in Klang Valley. This is to measure and identify whether rewards systems has any influence towards the individual career planning and success. There were five (5) hypotheses tested and the result based on the respond received is three (3) hypotheses is substantiated and the remaining two (2) hypothesis are not. Based on the study that shows, there is a correlation between rewards system and career planning and success. It further indicated that the element in the rewards system have a positive correlation towards the individual career planning and success particularly the non-monetary rewards (Recognition and Exposure). The difference of opinion between the respondent of a private sectors and government shows private sector employees do feel that rewards system have a significant positive influence towards the individual career planning and success while the government sector does not regard it not significant important of the rewards system towards the individual career planning and success. However in terms of gender and age there is no difference in opinion and they are equal respond in opinion with regards to the rewards system towards the individual career planning and success. Implication of the findings, suggestion for future studies and recommendations are suggeste

The research entitled “Multinational factors contributing to the development from local to international talents” is conducted with three objectives which are first to identify the respondents socio demographic background and the respondents rating of importance of the area in developing international talent, second to determine differences between respondents socio demographic and the factors contributing to the development of international talent and third is to compare whether there are differences between departments to the factors contributing in developing international talent. The respondents of this study are the employees from 2 selected departments in SCOPE International which are International Trade and Foreign Market Operation. 40 questionnaires were distributed in order to complete the purpose of study. At the end of the research the researcher found that all independent variables to be important, which the factors mentioned as independent variables having positive results toward the development from local to international talents
