This study aims to identify and discover the ideas of social change offered by Mas Marco Kartodikromo through his work. Mas Marco Kartodikromo is an active person who writes literary works and articles in the early 20th century. The results of his writings present ideas for social change and the theme of the injustice of the system applied by the Dutch colonial government. The results of this study indicate that the idea of social change offered by Mas Marco Kartodikromo concerns the issue of nationalism for the Indies homeland, the idea of independence for the Indies homeland, defending the rights of indigenous women in the Indies, and improving the policy system in the Indies. Broadly speaking, the narratives written by Mas Marco Kartodikromo provide awareness to the readers so that the Indies quickly get out of the Dutch colonial shackles to become an independent state

LASMI DAN GOTHIC FEMINISM DIANA LONG HOEVELER

Abstrak-Konsep gothic feminisme berbeda dengan pengertian feminisme pada umumnya. Gothic feminisme merupakan konsep feminis yang lahir dari perempuan korban terhadap diskriminasi dan dominasi untuk memulai meluapkan pembalasan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengungkapkan kandungan teks gothic feminism berdasar teori Diana Long Hoeveleryang terdapat dalam novel Lasmi karya Falen dan Ara. Hasil penelitian ini menemukan, bahwa tokoh Lasmi merupakan simbol atas perempuan korban akibat diskriminasi budaya dan sosial tentang identitas wanita. Hadirnya tokoh Lasmi bagian dari upaya penulis untuk mengajikan pengetahuan sekaligus revisi sistem budaya dan sosial yang berkembang di masyarakat. How Self Efficacy in Mathematic Based on Gender Perspective?

This study aims to determine whether there are differences in self efficacy between middle school male and female students in Mathematics. This research is a quantitative study to find out the level of self efficacy in 108 male students and 118 female students of class VIII middle school, using a self efficacy questionnaire consisting of reasoned statement items with a reliability value of 0.844. The analysis showed that the average self efficacy in mathematics learning for male students was 92.77 and for women 90.27 of the maximum value of 120, was in the high category. This shows that most male and female students have great confidence in solving mathematical problems. Therefore, it can be said that there is no significant difference in mathematical self efficacy between male and female students

The Effectiveness of Problem Based Learning (PBL) Method Through Marquee Model to Cultivate Literacy

The aim of this study was to determine the effectiveness of the Problem Based Learning (PBL) method to cultivate students’ literacy. By using the marquee model, the students can focus on writing which would be the topic of problems that would be discussed through the PBL method. The method used a quasi experimental design. The result of this research showed that PBL method through Marquee media was effective to improve the literacy culture of students at Universitas Hasyim Asy’ari (UNHASY) Tebuireng Jombang. The literacy culture before using PBL method through Marquee was 75% of children rarely do literacy activities. After using PBL method through Marquee was 90% children often do literacy activities. Hence, it can be concluded that the problem basic learning (PBL) method through marquee can improve the students’ literacy culture of Indonesian language and literature education, mathematics education. Because there was an increase from 75% to 90% of students who like to read, this indicates that PBL through marquee was effective in improving literacy culture. NASKAH SYAIR KANJENG NABI DAN HIKAYAT NABI BERCUKUR DALAM RELASI EPIGONISTIK

The Kanjeng Nabi Verses (Syair Kanjeng Nabi) is a pegon and Arabic lettered verse that tells us the story  about Prophet Muhammad when his hair was cut. The same story is also narrated in the Tale of  Shaving Prophet (Hikayat Nabi Bercukur) that was written in Jawi. Both texts tell the similar story despite their different geographical backgorund. This study enables the epigone theory as an approach to controvert the idea on act of  plagiarism between authors of  both texts then to propose the creator‘s creativity in producing texts. ANALISIS PRODUKSI KULTURAL PIERRE BOURDIEU DALAM NASKAH-NASKAH TEATER ANDHI SETYO WIBOWO

Abstract This study aims to analyze ‘practice’ in the form of Andhi Setyo Wibowo’s theatrical scripts in Pierre Bourdieu’s Theory of Cultural Production. This study uses a critical descriptive paradigm, the researcher focuses on the analysis of sources and data received by utilizing the theory used, namely Pierre Bourdieu’s theory of cultural production. There are three problem formulations that will be explained by the researcher. First, the context that shapes Andhi Setyo Wibowo’s habitus in producing his works. Second, how does Andhi Setyo Wibowo manage his modalities. Third, how Andhi Setyo Wibowo represented his theatrical scripts in the theater arena in East Java. PROPAGANDA POLITIK DALAM NOVEL RASA MERDIKA KARYA SOEMANTRI

Penelitian ini menganalisis dan mengungkap propaganda politik dalam novel Rasa Merdika karya Soemantri. Tujuannya, (1) menjelaskan kondisi sosial, ekonomi, dan politik disertai relasi zamannya, (2) menjelaskan propaganda politik internasionalisme tokoh Soedjanmo, Sastro, dan Soedarmo sekaligus beberapa teknik propaganda yang digunakan. Penelitian ini mengungkap dinamika hubungan antar fenomena yang diamati dengan menggunakan logika ilmiah dan memakai teori sosiologi sastra Goldmann dan Swingwood. Pandangannya memiliki hubungan homologis dengan struktur sosial (kondisi), kemudian Umar Junus memanfaatkan hal demikian sebagai suatu cerita dianggap membayangkan keadaan sosiobudaya suatu masyarakat. Dalam novel Rasa Merdika, propaganda politik yang dilakukan tokoh Soedjanmo, Sastro, dan Soedarmo secara sengaja menyuarakan pengetahuan internasionalisme proletariat. Gambaran kemiskinan dan kesengsaraan menjadi dasar utama, realitas masyarakat di suatu desa. Seorang tokoh propagandis memberikan penjelasan sebab-sebab kemiskinan di penduduk desa sampai pentingnya membangun perubahan melalui jalan Marxsisme. Strategi itu sebatas jembatan dasar atau pendukung posisi untuk melancarkan propaganda agar komunikan bersedia menerima secara logis dan meyakininya

An Analysis of Sexual Comments on Social Media: Men's Comments On Women's Twitter Posts

This research aimed to analyze the sexual comments made by men on women’s posts on Twitter. During the COVID-19 pandemic, there was an increase in the use of social media Twitter makes it easier for individuals to communicate with people they know and to interact with other users with minimal restrictions. Twitter allows its users to upload selfies and allows other users to comment on those pictures. This research analyzed sexual comments on @lucintaluna and @dododid selfies during 2021. The authors found three major themes in the comments using Norman Fairclough’s critical discourse analysis method. They were calling the women beautiful, objectifying the women and expressing stigmas and stereotypes. Through this research, the authors also found that online-based gender violence can be experienced by anyone in various forms.
