Charging Interacting Rotating Black Holes in Heterotic String Theory
We present a formulation of the stationary bosonic string sector of the whole
toroidally compactified effective field theory of the heterotic string as a
double Ernst system which, in the framework of General Relativity describes, in
particular, a pair of interacting spinning black holes; however, in the
framework of low--energy string theory the double Ernst system can be
particularly interpreted as the rotating field configuration of two interacting
sources of black hole type coupled to dilaton and Kalb--Ramond fields. We
clarify the rotating character of the --component of the
antisymmetric tensor field of Kalb--Ramond and discuss on its possible torsion
nature. We also recall the fact that the double Ernst system possesses a
discrete symmetry which is used to relate physically different string vacua.
Therefore we apply the normalized Harrison transformation (a charging symmetry
which acts on the target space of the low--energy heterotic string theory
preserving the asymptotics of the transformed fields and endowing them with
multiple electromagnetic charges) on a generic solution of the double Ernst
system and compute the generated field configurations for the 4D effective
field theory of the heterotic string. This transformation generates the
vector field content of the whole low--energy heterotic string
spectrum and gives rise to a pair of interacting rotating black holes endowed
with dilaton, Kalb--Ramond and multiple electromagnetic fields where the charge

Intersection between class and gender and its effect on the quality of employment in Chile

del empleo en Chile. La medida de posición de clase utilizada está basada en la propuesta de
Erik O. Wright y la calidad del empleo en una medida multidimensional, que incluye un índice
de condiciones objetivas de empleo y dos índices de condiciones subjetivas (motivación en
el trabajo y percepción del control sobre el proceso de trabajo). Los resultados demuestran
que la clase y el género determinan diferencias significativas en la calidad objetiva y subjetiva
del empleo. Sin embargo, los datos también indican que el género (particularmente, el
hecho de ser mujer) no actúa necesariamente como “amplificador” de las desigualdades
de clase observadas en el mercado laboral. A partir de esto, al final del artículo se plantean
algunas reflexiones sobre cómo opera la intersección entre clase y género en el mercado
laboral chileno.This study explores the impact of the intersection between class and gender on the quality
of employment in Chile. The method used to measure social class position is based on the
work of Erik O. Wright, while, for the quality of employment, a multidimensional measurement
was used, including one index for objective working conditions and two indices for subjective
ones (motivation on the job and the perception of control over work processes). The results
demonstrate that class and gender give rise to signifcant differences in objective and
subjective job quality. However, the data also indicate that gender (more specifcally, the fact
of being female) does not necessarily amplify the class-based inequalities observed in the
labour market. Drawing on these fndings, a number of thoughts about how the class/gender

Effects of drop and film viscosity on drop impacts onto thin films
While drop-film impacts have been studied extensively in the past, little thought has been given towards separating the effects of the drop fluid properties from those of the film. Distinguishing between the behaviors resulting from characteristics of each independently could provide insight into the underlying physical phenomena with a clarity that is unavailable when the drop and the film consist of identical liquids. In this study, the viscosity is the central parameter varied in both drop and film liquid. Using water, aqueous glycerol mixtures, and Fluoroinert FC-72, a range of kinematic viscosity covering 3 orders of magnitude (4 × 10-7 - 6.5 × 10 -4 m2/s) is examined; a smaller range of surface tension (0.024-0.072 N/m) is covered, as well. Drop impacts occur over a range of Weber numbers from 20 to 3000 and Reynolds numbers from 20 to 14000. Impact outcomes categorized are both formation of a crown and splashing from the crown. Criteria for each impact outcome are presented in light of both film and drop properties; certain outcomes are found to depend more strongly on either the properties of the drop or the film individually. Crown formation appears to relate more strongly to the film's properties, whereas crown splashing has some dependence on the drop properties. Gluon mass generation without seagull divergences
Dynamical gluon mass generation has been traditionally plagued with seagull
divergences, and all regularization procedures proposed over the years yield
finite but scheme-dependent gluon masses. In this work we show how such
divergences can be eliminated completely by virtue of a characteristic
identity, valid in dimensional regularization. The ability to trigger the
aforementioned identity hinges crucially on the particular Ansatz employed for
the three-gluon vertex entering into the Schwinger-Dyson equation governing the
gluon propagator. The use of the appropriate three-gluon vertex brings about an
additional advantage: one obtains two separate (but coupled) integral
equations, one for the effective charge and one for the gluon mass. This system
of integral equations has a unique solution, which unambiguously determines
these two quantities. Most notably, the effective charge freezes in the
infrared, and the gluon mass displays power-law running in the ultraviolet, in

What the Infrared Behaviour of QCD Vertex Functions in Landau gauge can tell us about Confinement
The infrared behaviour of Landau gauge QCD vertex functions is investigated
employing a skeleton expansion of the Dyson-Schwinger and Renormalization Group
equations. Results for the ghost-gluon, three-gluon, four-gluon and quark-gluon
vertex functions are presented. Positivity violation of the gluon propagator,
and thus gluon confinement, is demonstrated. Results of the Dyson-Schwinger
equations for a finite volume are compared to corresponding lattice data. It is
analytically demonstrated that a linear rising potential between heavy quarks
can be generated by infrared singularities in the dressed quark-gluon vertex.
The selfconsistent mechanism that generates these singularities necessarily
entails the scalar Dirac amplitudes of the full vertex and the quark
propagator. These can only be present when chiral symmetry is broken, either

Challenging the status quo: women's experiences of opting for a home birth in Andalucia, Spain
Objective
To explore the perceptions, beliefs and attitudes of women who opted for a home birth in Andalusia (Spain).
Background
Home birth is currently an unusual choice among Spanish women. It is not an option covered by the Spanish National Health Service and women who opt for a home birth have to pay for an independent midwife.
Design
A qualitative study with a phenomenological approach was adopted. All participants who took part in this study had chosen to have a home birth and given written consent to take part in the study.
Methods
Data collection was conducted in 2015–16. Face-to-face, semi-structured interviews were undertaken with women who chose a home birth in the last 5 years.
Findings
The sample consisted of thirteen women. Seven themes were created through analysis: 1. Getting informed about home birth; 2. Home birth as a choice, despite feeling unsupported; 3. The best way to have a personalized and a physiological birth; 4. Seeking a healing and empowering experience 5. The need for emotional safety, establishing a relationship and trusting the midwife; 6. Preparing for birth and working on fears; 7. Inequality of access (because of financial implications).
Conclusions
Women opted to plan birth at home because they wanted a personalised birth and control over their decision-making in labour, which they felt would not have been afforded to them in hospital settings. Andalusian maternity care leaders should strive to ensure that all pregnant women receive respectful and high-quality personalised care, by appropriately trained staff, both in the hospital and in the community
Decision Support System for Grassland-Based Sheep Production in the Chilean Patagonia
Temporal decision-making in sheep production systems of the Chilean Patagonia is influenced by forage availability in existing paddocks, which in turn is determined by previous use, localisation, climate and soil. Also, production strategies are evolving, with a trend towards fat lamb production, introduction of new breeds and a reduction in the importance of wool production. The objective of this study was to develop an initial version of a spatial empirical simulation model based on extremely limited information, to predict forage growth and sheep production so that decision-makers can assess alternative production strategies
