Dirac Triples for Unital AF Algebras
For a unital AF algebra A, we construct a family of triples (A, H, D) where A is represented faithfully on the Hilbert space H and D is an unbounded self-adjoint operator on H. These triples have the same properties as spectral triples except for the compact resolvent condition, so we call them Dirac triples. They serve as a generalization of Pearson-Bellissard spectral triples for an ultrametric Cantor set corresponding to choice functions. Pearson and Bellissard showed that the underlying ultrametric can be recovered by considering spectral triples associated to all choice functions. We obtain an analogue for unital AF algebras: the supremum of the Connes spectral distances induced by a large family of Dirac triples from our construction coincides with a generalized version of the Aguilar seminorm, which is a Leibniz Lip-norm for a unital AF algebra. Moreover, the convergence result of Aguilar is retained: equipped with the generalized Aguilar seminorm, a unital AF algebra is the limit of its defining finite-dimensional subalgebras for the quantum Gromov-Hausdorff propinquity

Collisions in a liquid fluidized bed
Collisional phenomena in a solid–liquid flow were studied in terms of two parameters: the collision frequency and the coefficient of restitution. Experimental measurements of these parameters were conducted inside a liquid fluidized bed by particle tracking in an index-matched array. Collision detection was based on the use of a peak acceleration threshold of the instantaneous speed of colored tracers. The measurements of collision frequency were compared with the theoretical expression derived from the kinetic theory for granular flow (KTGF). The normal and tangential restitution coefficients were measured from the trajectories before and after contact for both particle–particle and particle–wall collisions. A comparison with previous theoretical and experimental works is presented and discussed
The Transitional Protoplanetary Disk Frequency as a Function of Age: Disk Evolution in the Coronet Cluster, Taurus, and Other 1--8 Myr-old Regions
We present Spitzer 3.6--24 micron photometry and spectroscopy for stars in
the 1--3 Myr-old Coronet Cluster, expanding upon the survey of Sicilia-Aguilar
et al. (2008). Using sophisticated radiative transfer models, we analyze these
new data and those from Sicilia-Aguilar et al. (2008) to identify disks with
evidence for substantial dust evolution consistent with disk clearing:
transitional disks. We then analyze data in Taurus and others young clusters --
IC 348, NGC 2362, and eta Cha -- to constrain the transitional disk frequency
as a function of time. Our analysis confirms previous results finding evidence
for two types of transitional disks -- those with inner holes and those that
are homologously depleted. The percentage of disks in the transitional phase
increases from ~ 15--20% at 1--2 Myr to > 50% at 5--8 Myr; the mean
transitional disk lifetime is closer to ~ 1 Myr than 0.1--0.5 Myr, consistent
with previous studies by Currie et al. (2009) and Sicilia-Aguilar et al.
(2009). In the Coronet Cluster and IC 348, transitional disks are more numerous
for very low-mass M3--M6 stars than for more massive K5--M2 stars, while Taurus
lacks a strong spectral type-dependent frequency. Assuming standard values for
the gas-to-dust ratio and other disk properties, the lower limit for the masses
of optically-thick primordial disks is Mdisk ~ 0.001--0.003 M*. We find that
single color-color diagrams do not by themselves uniquely identify transitional
disks or primordial disks. Full SED modeling is required to accurately assess
disk evolution for individual sources and inform statistical estimates of the
transitional disk population in large samples using mid-IR colors.Comment: 43 pages in emulateapj format, Accepted for publication in Ap
Unpublished works and other notes about Manuel Aguilar Guerrero, a silversmith of neoclassicism Cordoba
In this article we are going to present diverse unpublished works of the silversmith native of Cordoba Manuel Aguilar Guerrero, indisputable teacher of the neoclassic goldwork cordobesa. In addition there are going to be announced other pieces that even it makes small they were relating to the artist and they will give themselves new keys to know better to the goldsmiths of this moment. Manuel Aguilar Guerrero is considered to be the best goldsmith of the first decades of the 19th century and author of magnificent works, as the last two custodies procesionales of the province, placed in Montilla and Aguilar of the Border
