Hadronic Spectrum - Multiquark States
Many newly discovered mesons behave like \ccbar charmonium states in that
they preferentially decay into final states that contain a - and a
-quark, but do not fit expectations for any of the unfilled levels of
the conventional \ccbar spectrum. There is a growing suspicion that at least
some of these states are {\it exotic}, {\it i.e.} have a substructure that is
more complex than the quark-antiquark mesons of the classical constituent quark
model. Some of these candidate states have a non-zero electric charge and,
thus, a minimal quark content of \ccbar u\bar{d} or \ccbar d\bar{u}. In
addition, states with similar properties have been observed in the - and
-quark sectors. In this report, the experimental situation is briefly
reviewed.Comment: 8 pages, 9 figures, plenary talk at PANIC 2008, Nov. 9-14, 2008

Evaluation of hemodynamic imaging findings of hypervascular hepatocellular carcinoma: comparison between dynamic contrast-enhanced magnetic resonance imaging using radial volumetric imaging breath-hold examination with k-space-weighted image contrast reconstruction and dynamic computed tomography during hepatic arteriography
To compare the visualization of hemodynamic imaging findings of hypervascular hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) on dynamic contrast-enhanced magnetic resonance imaging (DCE-MRI) using radial volumetric imaging breath-hold examination with k-space-weighted image contrast reconstruction (r-VIBE-KWIC) versus dynamic computed tomography during hepatic arteriography (dyn-CTHA). We retrospectively reviewed the databases of preoperative DCE-MRI using r-VIBE-KWIC, dyn-CTHA, and postoperative pathology of resected specimens. Fourteen patients with 14 hypervascular HCCs underwent both DCE-MRI and dyn-CTHA. The imaging findings of the tumor and adjacent liver parenchyma were assessed on both modalities by two readers. The tumor enhancement time was also compared between the two modalities. On DCE-MRI/dyn-CTHA, early staining, peritumoral low-intensity or low-density bands, corona enhancement, and washout of HCC were observed in 14/14 (100%), 10/12 (83%), 11/14 (78%), and 4/14 (29%) patients, respectively. Pathologically, four HCCs with low-density bands on dyn-CTHA had no fibrous capsules. The median tumor enhancement time on DCE-MRI and dyn-CTHA was 24 (9-24) and 23 (8-35) s, respectively. The correlation coefficient between the two groups was 0.762 (P < 0.002). DCE-MRI using r-VIBE-KWIC has diagnostic potential comparable with that of dyn-CTHA in the hemodynamic evaluation of hypervascular HCC except for the washout phenomenon.ArticleJAPANESE JOURNAL OF RADIOLOGY.36(4):295-302(2018)journal articl
Lysophosphatidic Acid Level and the Incidence of Silent Brain Infarction in Patients with Nonvalvular Atrial Fibrillation
Lysophosphatidic acid (LPA), which is proposed to play an important role in normal physiological situations such as wound healing, vascular tone, vascular integrity and reproduction, may be involved in the etiology of some diseases such as atherosclerosis, cancer, obesity or myocardial infarction. Abnormal findings, including silent brain infarction (SBI), are frequently observed by magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) in patients with nonvalvular atrial fibrillation (NVAF). However, whether there is a relationship between LPA level and the prevalence of SBI has not been extensively studied. In the present study, the association between them was investigated. 235 patients with NVAF, 116 cases of SBI without NVAF and 120 cases of healthy volunteers (control group), who did not receive any antithrombotic therapy, were enrolled in this study. Plasma LPA levels in the NVAF with SBI group were significantly higher than that in the control group (p < 0.01), NVAF without SBI group (p < 0.01) and SBI without NVAF group (p < 0.01). The LPA levels are lower in the control group than in the NVAF without SBI and SBI without NVAF groups (p < 0.01), however, the latter two groups did not significantly differ from each other for LPA levels (p > 0.05) There were significant differences in the positive rate of platelet activation between each of the groups (p < 0.01). The positive rate of platelet activation was significantly higher in the NVAF with SBI group. We suggest that LPA might be a novel marker for estimation of the status of platelet activation and the risk factor for SBI onset in NVAF patients. We expected that plasma LPA levels could predict the occurrence of SBI in NVAF patients
Measurement of inclusive electron cross section in collisions at TRISTAN
We have studied open charm production in collisions with the
TOPAZ detector at the TRISTAN collider. In this study, charm
quarks were identified by electrons (and positrons) from semi-leptonic decays
of charmed hadrons. The data corresponded to an integrated luminosity of 95.3
pb at a center-of-mass energy of 58 GeV. The results are presented as
the cross sections of inclusive electron production in
collisions with an anti-tag condition, as well as the subprocess cross
sections, which correspond to resolved-photon processes. The latter were
measured by using a sub-sample with remnant jets. A comparison with various
theoretical predictions based on direct and resolved-photon processes showed
that our data prefer that with relatively large gluon contents in a photon at
small , with the next-to-leading order correction, and with a
charm-quark mass of 1.3 GeV.Comment: 26 pages, Latex format (article), 5 figures included, to be published

AXL confers intrinsic resistance to osimertinib and advances the emergence of tolerant cells
A novel EGFR-tyrosine kinase inhibitor (TKI), osimertinib, has marked efficacy in patients with EGFR-mutated lung cancer. However, some patients show intrinsic resistance and an insufficient response to osimertinib. This study showed that osimertinib stimulated AXL by inhibiting a negative feedback loop. Activated AXL was associated with EGFR and HER3 in maintaining cell survival and inducing the emergence of cells tolerant to osimertinib. AXL inhibition reduced the viability of EGFR-mutated lung cancer cells overexpressing AXL that were exposed to osimertinib. The addition of an AXL inhibitor during either the initial or tolerant phases reduced tumor size and delayed tumor re-growth compared to osimertinib alone. AXL was highly expressed in clinical specimens of EGFR-mutated lung cancers and its high expression was associated with a low response rate to EGFR-TKI. These results indicated pivotal roles for AXL and its inhibition in the intrinsic resistance to osimertinib and the emergence of osimertinib-tolerant cells
Observation of B+->Lambda_c+Lambda_c-K+ and B0->Lambda_c+Lambda_c^-K0 decays
We report first measurements of the doubly charmed baryonic B decays
B->Lambda_c+Lambda_c-K. The B+->Lambda_c+Lambda_c-K+ decay is observed with a
branching fraction of (6.5+1.0-0.9+-1.1+-3.4)x10^{-4} and a statistical
significance of 15.4sigma. The B0->Lambda_c+Lambda_c-K0 decay is observed with
a branching fraction of (7.9+2.9-2.3+-1.2+-4.2)x10^{-4} and a statistical
significance of 6.6sigma. The branching fraction errors are statistical,
systematic, and the error resulting from the uncertainty of Lambda_c+->pK-pi+
decay branching fraction. The analysis is based on 357fb-1 of data accumulated
at the Y(4S) resonance with the Belle detector at the KEKB asymmetric e+e-
collider.Comment: 10 pages, 3 figure
Precise measurement of hadronic tau-decays with an eta meson
We have studied hadronic tau decay modes involving an eta meson using 490
fb^{-1} of data collected with the Belle detector at the KEKB asymmetric-energy
e+e- collider. The following branching fractions have been measured: B(tau- ->
K- eta nu)=(1.58 +- 0.05 +- 0.09)x 10^{-4}, B(tau- -> K- pi0 eta nu)=(4.6 +-
1.1 +- 0.4)x 10^{-5}, B(tau- -> pi- pi0 eta nu)=(1.35 +- 0.03 +- 0.07)x
10^{-3}, B(tau- -> pi- KS eta nu)=(4.4 +- 0.7 +- 0.2)x 10^{-5}, and B(tau- ->
K^{*-} eta nu)=(1.34 +- 0.12 +- 0.09)x 10^{-4}. These results are substantially
more precise than previous measurements. The new measurements are compared with
theoretical calculations based on the CVC hypothesis or the chiral perturbation
theory. We also set upper limits on branching fractions for tau decays into K-
KS eta nu, pi- KS pi0 eta nu, K- eta eta nu, pi- eta eta nu and non-resonant K-
pi^0 eta nu final states.Comment: 24 pages, 7 figure
Search for the X(1812) in
We report on a search for the X(1812) state in the decay with a data sample of pairs collected
with the Belle detector at the KEKB collider. No significant signal is
observed. An upper limit (90% C.L.) is determined. We also constrain the
three-body decay branching fraction to be 1.9 (90% C.L.).Comment: 5pages,2 figures(3 figure files). submitted to PRD(RC
