Rotor parameter determination for the brushless doubly fed (induction) machine
A procedure has been established for obtaining equivalent circuit parameters for the Brushless Doubly Fed Machine (BDFM),
also known as the Brushless Doubly Fed Induction Machine (DFIM), by transforming a reduced coupled-circuit model into a
sequence component form. This approach takes advantage of the model reduction procedure’s ability to reduce a complex rotor
structure to a single equivalent loop without significant loss of accuracy. An alternative method based on winding factors has
also been developed and includes coupling via harmonic fields. Parameters determined in both ways are in close agreement with
those determined from Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and experimentally. The advantages of each method is discussed in the
conclusion section. This work was supported by the European Union's Seventh Framework Programme managed by REA – Research Executive Agency (FP7/2007_2013) under Grant Agreement N.315485.This is the author accepted manuscript. Exploring the Potential of Emerging Technologies to Meet the Care and Support Needs of Older People: A Delphi Survey
Some emerging technologies have potential to address older people’s care and support needs. However, there is still a gap in the knowledge on the potential uses of these technologies in some care domains. Therefore, a two-round Delphi survey was conducted to establish a consensus of opinion from a group of health and social technology experts (n = 21) on the potential of 10 emerging technologies to meet older people’s needs in five care and support domains. Experts were also asked to provide reasons for their choices in free-text spaces. The consensus level was set at 70%. Free-text responses were analyzed using thematic analysis. Voice activated devices was the technology that reached experts consensus in all assessed care domains. Some technologies (e.g., Artificial intelligence (AI) enabled apps and wearables and Internet of things (IoT) enabled homes) also show potential to support basic self-care and access to healthcare needs of older people. However, most of the remaining technologies (e.g., robotics, exoskeletons, virtual and augmented reality (VR/AR)) face a range of technical and acceptability issues that may hinder their adoption by older people in the near future. Findings should encourage the R & D community to address some of the identified challenges to improve the adoption of emerging technologies by older people
Transcatheter closure of iatrogenic Gerbode defect with an Amplatzer duct occluder in a 23-year-old patient
A 23-year-old man was referred to our center with hematuria and hemolysis. The patient had undergone mitral and tricuspid valve replacement 3 months previously. Echocardiography and catheterization revealed a Gerbode-type ventricular septal defect. A decision was made to occlude the defect interventionally. The patient's hematuria ceased immediately safter the occlusion of the defect. © 2015 Japanese College of Cardiology
Analisis Dan Perancangan Aplikasi Sistem Informasi Audit Mutu Internal Dan Dokumentasi Penjaminan Mutu Perguruan Tinggi
Emerging Technologies With Potential Care and Support Applications for Older People: Review of Gray Literature
BACKGROUND:The number of older people with unmet care and support needs is increasing substantially due to the challenges facing the formal and informal care systems. Emerging technological developments have the potential to address some of the care and support challenges of older people. However, limited work has been done to identify emerging technological developments with the potential to meet the care and support needs of the aging population. OBJECTIVE:This review aimed to gain an overview of emerging technologies with potential care and support applications for older people, particularly for those living at home. METHODS:A scoping gray literature review was carried out by using the databases of 13 key organizations, hand searching reference lists of included documents, using funding data, and consulting technology experts. A narrative synthesis approach was used to analyze and summarize the findings of the literature review. RESULTS:A total of 39 documents were included in the final analysis. From the analysis, 8 emerging technologies were identified that could potentially be used to meet older people's needs in various care and support domains. These emerging technologies were (1) assistive autonomous robots; (2) self-driving vehicles; (3) artificial intelligence-enabled health smart apps and wearables; (4) new drug release mechanisms; (5) portable diagnostics; (6) voice-activated devices; (7) virtual, augmented, and mixed reality; and (8) intelligent homes. These emerging technologies were at different levels of development, with some being trialed for care applications, whereas others being in the early phases of development. However, only a few documents mentioned including older people during the process of designing and developing these technologies. CONCLUSIONS:This review has identified key emerging technologies with the potential to contribute to the support and care needs of older people. However, to increase the adoption of these technologies by older people, there is a need to involve them and other stakeholders, such as formal and informal carers, in the process of designing and developing these technologies

Quantum optomechanics of a multimode system coupled via photothermal and radiation pressure force
We provide a full quantum description of the optomechanical system formed by
a Fabry-Perot cavity with a movable micro-mechanical mirror whose
center-of-mass and internal elastic modes are coupled to the driven cavity mode
by both radiation pressure and photothermal force. Adopting a quantum Langevin
description, we investigate simultaneous cooling of the micromirror elastic and
center-of-mass modes, and also the entanglement properties of the
optomechanical multipartite system in its steady state.Comment: 11 pages, 7 figure
Pembuatan Peta Zona Nilai Ekonomi Kawasan Menggunakan Tcm (Travel Cost Method) Dan Cvm (Contingent Valuation Method) Menggunakan Sistem Informasi Geografis Kawasan Cagar Alam Goa Kreo Dan Waduk Jatibarang
Semarang is a city in Indonesia which has a lot of interesting tourism place to be visited.Kreo Cave and Jatibarang Reservoir are some of tourism places in Semarang which does not only have potential in their beauty, but also have the function to control flood. Based on this thing, region economic value zone map (ZNEK) for this location is needed to to find out the economic value and benefit based on (willingness to pay :WTP) the tourists and people who get profit from that region. The respondent withdrawal method used in this final project is non probability sampling with incidental sampling technique which is for the respondents who are accidentally met at the location. In a field survey takes 50 samples TCM (Travel Cost Method) to calculate the direct use value (DUV) and 85 samples of CVM (Contingent Valuation Method) to calculate the value of existence (EV). The data processing method is multiple linear regression analysis and calculated using Maple 17 software. Statistic and classic assumption tests are done in SPSS 16 software. The statistic tests are validity and reliability tests, while classic assumption tests are normality test, multicolinearity test, heteroscedasticity test and autocorrelation test.In this final project research, the result of statistic test for CVM data is valid and reliable, while classic assumption test is distributed normally, no indication of multicollinearity, no indication of heteroscedasticity nor autocorrelation. The final result of this research is region economic value zone map which had consumer surplus of Rp 525.113 , WTP value of Rp 31.045 for CVM and WTP value of Rp 31.673 for special CVM , so that it was obtained that the total economic value of Kreo Cave and Jatibarang Reservoir was Rp 70.730.162.600 (consumer surplus value per individual multiplied by number of visitors on 2015)
Aspergillus species and aflatoxin contamination in pepper (Capsicum annuum l.) in West Gojjam, Ethiopia
Pepper (Capsicum annuum L.) is an important spice and source of income for smallholder producers in Ethiopia. Since the larger proportion is for the market, it takes a significant share of the national income from export commodity. However, often the product was rejected by some of the European Union markets due to the maximum aflatoxin level accumulations beyond their acceptable limits. So, the present study was carried out to highlight the importance of Aspergillus species invasion in pepper, and levels of aflatoxin contamination at maturity in the field (pod form), farmers' storage and local market (powder form) in West Gojjam, Ethiopia. A total of 135 pepper samples were collected from three districts of West Gojjam (Burie, Jabitehnan, and Fnoteselam), Ethiopia for fungal and aflatoxin analysis. The producers used a pre-validated structured questionnaire to obtain information on pepper production practices. Aspergillus species isolates were recovered using potato dextrose agar (PDA) medium and counting was through dilution method (cfu g-1). The pepper pods were ground to a fine powder for aflatoxin analysis using Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay (ELISA). The prevalence of infected samples revealed that, pre-harvest samples (51%) were less infected by Aspergillus species, compared to local markets (65 %) and storage (79 %). Aspergillus flavus species were recovered in pre-harvest samples, whilst A. niger were found in local market samples. Aflatoxin contamination at pre-harvest, storage, and local market were 10, 47, and 42 % with levels which ranged from non-detected to 10.6, 0.3 - 17.1 and 3.1 - 19.2 ppb, respectively. The mean aflatoxin concentration detected from storage samples (10.6 ppb) and local market (12.6 ppb) were found to be above the tolerable limits set by EU (5 ppb) in pepper products. From the findings in this study, proper drying, physical separation of molded pods and use of clean storage structures should be implemented along the production chain in order to reduce aflatoxin contamination in pepper in Ethiopia
Pollution Levels of Air Hitam River in Tofu Industry Area Pekanbaru Based on Water Quality and Macrozoobenthos
Air Hitam River is one of the most polluted river in Pekanbaru, as there is a tofu industry and households that discharge the waste to the river. To understand the pollution level of the river, a study has been conducted from March to April 2015. The pollution level was identified based on water quality and macrozoobenthos community structure in the river. There were 4 stations and 3 sampling points in each station. Water samples were taken 3 times, once a week and water quality parameters measured were temperature, current speed, TSS, depth, pH, BOD5, COD and ammonia. While the macrozoobenthos diversity (H') was analyzed usinga Shannon-Weinermethod. Results shown that temperature was 27.67 – 28.00 0C, current speed: 13.00 – 35.00 cm/sec, TSS: 28.66 – 51.86 mg/L, depth 47.33 – 75.33 cm, pH: 5, BOD5: 5.61 – 12.51 mg/L, COD: 29.60 – 38.70 mg/L, ammonia: 1.610 – 3.389 mg/L. The value of the TSS, BOD5, COD and ammonia were higher than those of the Quality Standard PP No 82/2001 and the H' of the macrozoobentos was 0.93 – 1.802. Based on data obtained, it can be concluded that the Air Hitam River was lightly to heavily polluted
