Antichain cutsets of strongly connected posets
Rival and Zaguia showed that the antichain cutsets of a finite Boolean
lattice are exactly the level sets. We show that a similar characterization of
antichain cutsets holds for any strongly connected poset of locally finite
height. As a corollary, we get such a characterization for semimodular
lattices, supersolvable lattices, Bruhat orders, locally shellable lattices,
and many more. We also consider a generalization to strongly connected
hypergraphs having finite edges.Comment: 12 pages; v2 contains minor fixes for publicatio
Will spin-relaxation times in molecular magnets permit quantum information processing?
Using X-band pulsed electron spin resonance, we report the intrinsic
spin-lattice () and phase coherence () relaxation times in molecular
nanomagnets for the first time. In Cr heterometallic wheels, with = Ni
and Mn, phase coherence relaxation is dominated by the coupling of the electron
spin to protons within the molecule. In deuterated samples reaches 3
s at low temperatures, which is several orders of magnitude longer than
the duration of spin manipulations, satisfying a prerequisite for the
deployment of molecular nanomagnets in quantum information applications.Comment: 4 pages, 3 figures, in press at Physical Review Letter
Profil USAha Nasi Kuning di Kecamatan Tuminting Kota Manado (Studi Kasus Nasi Kuning Ci\u27 Ida)
The aim of this study was to determine the profile of the business yellow rice in District Tuminting, Manado City. The business profile is limited to the amount of profit earned. The study was conducted in Yellow Rice Ci\u27Ida Tuminting District of Manado City. Data were collected by interview directly with the owners of yellow rice. Variables are calculated for characteristic of entrepreneurs, age, education, long sought, establishment, the owners of capital, organization structure, licensing, production, product type, production process, type of production, packaging and sales, raw materials, labor, buildings and equipment. Yellow rice effort Ci \u27Ida is a small business has been operating since 1962 using its own capital and maintain recipes from parents. The yellow rice businesses serve customers every day from 07.00- 11:00 am and 05:00 to 10:00 p.m.. The amount of raw materials used rice ranges between 8-12 kg. On Saturday and Sunday is the highest demand. The highest demand on the benefits obtained is Rp 445 039 per day
Assessment of various strategies for the preservation of clonal genetic resources in oil palm (Elaeis guineensis Jacq.)
Three different approaches for the preservation of oil palm (Elaeis guineensis Jacq.) clonal genetic resources and their impacts on the induction of the « mantled » somaclonal variation were assessed. In vitro long term preservation of somatic embryos stock-cultures was studied : after a 5 year cultivation period, 75 % of clonal lines were still normal. Between 8 and 13 years of embryo cultures, half of the considered clonal lines were found to be « mantled ». Finally, 40 % were found to be normal over 15 years of in vitro conservation. Clonal conformity of ramets resulting from the re-cloning of somaplants depended, on one hand, on the floral status of the mother plant at the time of sampling and, on the other hand, on its origin. Re-cloning of abnormal regenerants led, in all cases, to 100 % abnormal offspring. The age of the ramet used as mother palm at the time of sampling was found to be critical for true-to-type regeneration. There is a high risk of obtaining variant regenerant palms if the clonal mother palm is sampled at nursery stage. Field observations carried out on palms originating from somatic embryos cryopreserved at -196 °C showed floral conformity rates comparable to those obtained from standard not-cryopreserved clonal palms, for 6 out of the 8 clonal lines studied. From the 2 remaining clonal lines, a few regenerant palms originating from standard batch were found to be « mantled », whereas those resulting from cryopreserved embryos were all normal. The assumption of changes in levels of genomic DNA methylation during preservation was discussed, together with the capacity of our cryopreservation protocol to select embryogenic cells which were only suited to trueto-type regeneration
A Static Analyzer for Large Safety-Critical Software
We show that abstract interpretation-based static program analysis can be
made efficient and precise enough to formally verify a class of properties for
a family of large programs with few or no false alarms. This is achieved by
refinement of a general purpose static analyzer and later adaptation to
particular programs of the family by the end-user through parametrization. This
is applied to the proof of soundness of data manipulation operations at the
machine level for periodic synchronous safety critical embedded software. The
main novelties are the design principle of static analyzers by refinement and
adaptation through parametrization, the symbolic manipulation of expressions to
improve the precision of abstract transfer functions, the octagon, ellipsoid,
and decision tree abstract domains, all with sound handling of rounding errors
in floating point computations, widening strategies (with thresholds, delayed)
and the automatic determination of the parameters (parametrized packing)
