    Analiza ishrane zelene želve, Chelonia mydas, iz Jadranskog mora

    The green sea turtle (Chelonia mydas) is a foraging specialist, with strong tendency towards herbivory of neritic-stage individuals. Due to lack of data on the feeding ecology of this species in the Mediterranean, we analysed diet composition of one juvenile green turtle with the curved carapace length of 40.0 cm, found dead in the eastern Adriatic Sea (Croatia) in December 2001. The turtle has dominantly feed upon benthic polychaetes Chaetopterus variopedatus (69.8%), while seagrass (Cymodocea nodosa) and algae accounted for 11.1% of the total wet mass. Species composition and their vertical distribution showed that the turtle was in the post-pelagic stage and has foraged in the shallow coastal waters. We discuss our results in the light of recent recoveries of C. mydas juveniles in Albania and Greece, and suggest the existence of an Ionian-Adriatic developmental pathway of green turtles from reproductive habitats in the eastern Mediterranean Sea.Zelena želva (Chelonia mydas) je specijalist u ishrani, sa snažnom tendencijom neritičkih stadija prema herbivornosti. Zbog potpunog nedostatka podataka o ekologije ishrane ove vrste u Sredozemlju, proveli smo analizu sadržaja probavila jedne zelene želve zakrivljene dužine karapaksa 40 cm, na|ene uginule u istočnom Jadranu (Hrvatska) u prosincu 2001. Dominantan plijen predstavljao je pridneni mnogočetinaš Chaetopterus variopedatus (69.8%), dok su morske cvjetnice (Cymodocea nodosa) i alge sačinjavale 11.1% ukupne mokre mase sadržaja probavila. Sastav vrsta i njihova vertikalna raspodjela pokazali su da je kornjača bila u post-pelagičkoj razvojnoj fazi, hraneći se u plitkim obalnim vodama. Rezultati su raspravljeni u svjetlu novih nalaza juvenilnih primjeraka C. mydas u Albaniji i Grčkoj, što ukazuje na postojanje jonsko-jadranskog razvojnog puta zelenih želvi iz reproduktivnih staništa u istočnom Sredozemlju

    <div><p><b>Capsule</b> Clutch initiation date decreased with longitude, clutch size increased with latitude and decreased with maximum temperature, whereas the number of fledglings increased both with latitude and longitude, and decreased with maximum temperature in 19 European studies of the Great Reed Warbler. Our study confirmed previous findings about the increasing trend in clutch size with latitude, but also found earlier clutch initiation dates and higher number of fledglings longitudinally from west to east, with precipitation closely associated with clutch initiation date and maximum temperature closely associated with the number of fledglings.</p></div

    UTJECAJ IZABRANIH AKTIVNOSTI UNAPRJEĐENJA PRODAJE NA PONAŠANJE POTROŠAČA : Diplomski rad

    U ovom diplomskom radu analizirao se utjecaj korištenja kupona, uzoraka i premija u drogerijskim prodavaonicama. Uvodni dio sadrži problem, kao i predmet istraživanja, cilj koji se želi postići, metode koje se koriste u radu, doprinos istraživanju te postavljene hipoteze. U drugom dijelu rada se definira pojam unaprjeđenje prodaje općenito te se posebno definira unaprjeđenje prodaje usmjereno potrošačima. Osim što se navode definicije i podjele, opisuje se i cjelokupan razvoj i korištenje unaprjeđenja prodaje kroz desetljeća. Treći dio rada se odnosi na definiranje izabranih aktivnosti unaprjeđenja prodaje, a to su uzorci, kuponi i premije. Za svaki oblik se navodi definicija, podjele, pozitivne i negativne značajke te njihova važnost za potrošače i proizvođače. Četvrti dio je empirijski dio u kojem se analiziraju podaci dobiveni anketnim upitnikom. Analiziraju se i interpretiraju mišljenja i stavovi ispitanika o navedenim oblicima unaprjeđenja prodaje i njihovom korištenju istih, te se može zaključiti kako u ovom istraživanju uzorci i kuponi ne djeluju na ponašanje ispitanika pri njihovoj kupnji kako su neka dosadašnja istraživanja pokazala, dok se za premije može sa sigurnošću reći da uvelike djeluju na njihovo kupovno ponašanje. Konačno, u diplomskom radu se navodi doneseni zaključak, popis literature koja je korištena, popis tablica i grafova te se prilaže anketni upitnik.In this graduate thesis, the impact of the use of coupons, samples and premiums in drugstores was analyzed. The introductory part contains the problem, as well as the subject of the research, the goal to be achieved, the methods used in the work, the contribution of the research and the hypothesis set. In the second part of the thesis, the term "sales promotion" is defined in general and the sales promotion is specifically defined for consumers. Apart from defining definitions and divisions, the overall development and use of sales promotion for decades has also been described. The third part of the graduate thesis is all about defining the selected sales promotion activities, which are samples, coupons and prizes. For each form is defined definition, division, positive and negative features and their importance for consumers and manufacturers. The fourth part is an empirical part in which the data from the questionnaire is analyzed. The opinions and attitudes of the respondents on these forms of sales promotion and their use are analyzed and interpreted, and it can be concluded that in this survey samples and coupons do not affect the behavior of the respondents in their purchase, as some of the research has shown so far, while it can certainty be concluded that premiums are largely acting on their purchasing behavior Finally, the graduate thesis provides a conclusion, a list of the literature used, a list of tables and graphs and a questionnaire is attached

    Predmet je završnog rada strateška analiza Ateljea Iva j.d.o.o. Provođenjem strateške analize i proučavanjem okoline poduzeća donose se odluke o poduzeću i njegovu poslovanju. Svako poduzeće treba primijeniti odgovarajuću strategiju kako bi poslovanje bilo profitabilno. U radu je analizirano poslovanje krojačke radnje Atelje Iva j.d.o.o. Strateška analiza navedenog poduzeća pokazala je da Atelje Iva ima modernu opremu za rad, kvalitetne i iskusne kadrove te da je menadžment poduzeća motiviran i sposoban za vođenje. Osim toga, kao snage poduzeća pokazale su se zadovoljstvo kupaca, kvaliteta proizvoda, kvalitetan odnos s dobavljačima i uspjeh u poslovanju. Slabosti poduzeća odnose se na mali tržišni udio i teškoću izlaska na tržište. Poslovanje poduzeća je u proteklih 13 godina bilo stabilno, izuzevši blagi pad poslovanja u prvoj polovici 2016. godine, što nije zabrinjavajuće, a objašnjava se kao posljedica porasta konkurencije na tržištu i slabljenja kupovne moći kupaca, što su prijetnje poduzeću. Prilike su mogućnost napredovanja, širenje asortimana i mogućnost izlaska na inozemno tržište. Iskorištavanjem snaga i prednosti Atelje Iva neutralizira svoje slabosti i nastoji izbjeći prijetnje na tržištu.The subject of this paper is strategic analysis of Studio Iva. By conducting strategic analysis and study of business environment companies make decisions about the company and its operations. Every company needs to apply the appropriate strategy so that business can be profitable. In this paper is analyzed the business of tailor shop Studio Iva. Strategic analysis of the company showed that Studio Iva has modern equipment for work, quality and experienced personnel and that the management is motivated and capable of managing. In addition, as companies’s strenghts proved to be customer satisfaction, product quality, quality relationships with vendors and business success. Companies’ weaknesses refer to the small market share and the difficulty of entering the market. Business was stable in the past 13 years, except for a slight decline in the first half of 2016, which is not alarming, but it is explained as a consequence of growing competition in the market and the weakening of purchasing power of buyers, which are threats to the company. Opportunities of te company are posibility for advancement, expansion of product range and the possibility of entering the foreign market. Taking advantage of its strenghts and opportunities Studio Iva can neutralize their weaknesses and avoid threats on the market

    The influence of process parameters cold pressed poppy seed on the yield and quality oil

    U ovom radu istraživan je utjecaj procesnih parametara prešanja maka na efikasnost proizvodnje hladno prešanog makovog ulja te njegovu kvalitetu. Prešanje sjemenki maka provedeno je na laboratorijskoj pužnoj preši za proizvodnju hladno prešanih biljnih ulja. Prešanjem maka dobivena su tri proizvoda: sirovo ulje, uljni talog i pogača. Prilikom prešanja mijenjali su se procesni parametri: temperatura glave preše, brzina pužnice, te nastavak za izlaz pogače. Nakon prešanja provedeno je prirodno taloženje dobivenog sirovog ulja te filtriranje. Primjenom standardnih metoda određeni su parametri kvalitete ulja: preoksidni broj, slobodne masne kiseline, udio netopljivih nečistoća te udio vlage i hlapljivih tvari. Kako bi se odredila efikasnost proizvodnje ulja provedeno je ispitivanje udjela ulja u pogači metodom po Soxhlet-u. Primjenom nastavka za izlaz pogače promjera 5 mm, frekvencije elektromotora 20 Hz i temperature zagrijavanja glave preše 100 °C dobiven je veći volume sirovog i finalnog makovog ulja, niži udio zaostalog ulja u pogači te većo stupanj djelovanja preše.In this study we have monitored the influence of process parameters on the efficiency of the pressing poppy seed production of cold pressed poppy oil and its quality. Poppy seeds pressing was carried out on laboratory screw press for production of cold pressed vegetable oils. Pressed poppy produced three products: unpirified crued oil, oil sludge and cake. During the pressing process, the process parameters had been changed: the temperature of presses head, frequency and output cake thickness. After the process of pressing, natural sedimentation and filtration were conducted on unpurified crude oil. By using standard methods we determineted the parametars of oil quality: peroxide value, free faty acid, the proportion of insoluble impurities as well as moisture and volatile matter. In order to determine the effieciency of oil production we examined oil share in a cake by using Soxhlet method. After applying the 5 mm press head for cake outcome, 20 Hz electromotor and 100 °C heating temperature of press head, the bigger volume of crude and final poppy oil was obtained as well as smaller volume of residual oil in the cake and larger level of press operation

    BRAF V600E gene mutations in hairy cell leukemia

    Leukemija vlasastih stanica ili triholeukemija je rijetka, limfoproliferativna bolest s malobrojnim cirkulirajućim tumorskim stanicama u perifernoj krvi. Trihociti su stanice čiji su citoplazmatski izdanci nalik vlasima te karakteriziraju ovu bolest. TL je kronična tijeka i sporo progresivna, te dobro reagira na terapiju purinskim analozima koji su standard u liječenju. Bolest uglavnom zahvaća slezenu, a limfni čvorovi su pošteđeni. TL je povezana s mutacijom BRAF gena i to s najčešćom mutacijom gena, BRAF V600E. Ta mutacija dovodi do konstitutivne aktivnosti RAS-RAF-MEK-ERK signalnog puta i do proliferacije stanica. BRAF mutacije do sad su povezane s brojnim malignomima, a najčešće s melanomom. Otkriće povezanosti triholeukemije s BRAF mutacijom donosi mogućnosti za novu terapiju BRAF inhibitorima, vemurafenibom i dabrafenibom, te praćenje bolesti uz pomoć RT-PCR metode. U ovom istraživanju analizirano je 15 ispitanika dijagnosticiranih s TL-om u KB Dubrava, u Zagrebu. Korišteni su uzorci periferne krvi i koštane srţi uklopljene u parafin. U istraživanju se utvrđivalo postojanje BRAF V600E mutacije u oboljelih te ocjenjivala uloga alel specifičnog RT-PCR-a u praćenju bolesti i otkrivanju minimalne ostatne bolesti. Zaključeno je da je RT-PCR metoda dovoljno osjetljiva za otkriće mutacije u aktivnoj bolesti te relapsu, a slabije osjetljiva u remisiji bolesti te kod minimalno aktivne bolesti. Povećan postotak limfocita u perifernoj krvi u ispitanika se pokazao kao dobar prediktor utvrđivanja BRAF V600E mutacije.Hairy cell leukemia, also called trycholeukemia, is a rare lymphoproliferative disorder with few circulating tumor cells in the peripheral blood. Hairy cells, characteristic of this disorder, are cells that have hair-like cytoplasmic projections. HCL has a chronic course. It is slowly progressive and has a good response to the standard treatment with purine analogues. Usually it affects the spleen, and lymph nodes are spared. HCL is associated with the BRAF gene mutation, more precisely with the most common, BRAF V600E mutation. That mutation leads to the constitutive activity of the RAS-RAF-MEK-ERK signal pathway and cell proliferation. BRAF mutations are related to many malignomas, but most commonly to melanoma. The discovery of the association between the HCL and the BRAF mutation lead to new possibilites in the treatment of the disorder, such as BRAF inhibitors, vemurafenib, and dabrafenib, as well as the possibility to follow up the disease with the RT-PCR method. In our study, 15 patients diagnosed with HCL were analyzed in the Clinical Hospital Dubrava in Zagreb. We used peripheral blood samples and samples of bone marrow embedded in paraffin. In this study we tried to detect the BRAF V600E mutation in patients diagnosed with HCL, and we also evaluated the allele-specific RT-PCR in the follow up of the disease and in the detection of the minimal residual disease. We concluded that the RT-PCR method is sensitive enough to detect the mutation in the active disease and in the relapse, but is less sensitive in the remission and in the minimal residual disease. A high percentage of lymphocytes in the peripheral blood has proved to be a good predictor of the BRAF V600E mutation

    Prvi nalaz vrste Oculina patagonica (Cnidaria, Scleractinia) u Jadranskom moru

    Scleractinian coral Oculina patagonica De Angelis 1908, non-indigenous species for the Adriatic Sea, was for the first time recorded during biological baseline survey in the harbour of Split (eastern coast of the Central Adriatic Sea), in May 2011. Colony was found in fouling community at depth of 3 m on concrete vertical wall. The surface of single colony was approximately 200 cm2. This record could be the base for future monitoring of possible spreading of this species, and to observe its behaviour in competition with the algal community and sedentary benthic invertebrates that were dominant on the surfaces of harbour walls.Kameni koralj Oculina patagonica De Angelis 1908, strana vrsta u Jadranskom moru, prvi je put zabilježen za vrijeme biološkog istraživanja nultog stanja u luci Split (istočna obala srednjeg Jadrana) u svibnju 2011. godine. Kolonija je pronađena u obraštajnoj zajednici na dubini od 3 m na vertikalnom zidu. Površina ove kolonije je bila oko 200 cm2. Ovaj nalaz može biti osnova za buduće praćenje mogućeg širenja vrste, te za promatranje njenog ponašanja u kompeticiji sa zajednicom algi i sedentarnih bentoskih beskralješnjaka koji su bili prevladavajući na površinama zidova luke
