Anomalous Quartic and Couplings in Collision With Initial Beams and Final State Polarizations
The constraints on the anomalous quartic and
gauge boson couplings are investigated through the processes
and . Considering the
longitudinal and transverse polarization states of the final W or Z boson and
incoming beam polarizations we find 95% confidence level limits on the
anomalous coupling parameters and with an integrated luminosity
of 500 and =0.5, 1 TeV energies. Assuming the
couplings are independent of the
couplings we show that the longitudinal polarization state of the final gauge
boson improves the sensitivity to anomalous couplings by a factor of 2-3
depending on energy and coupling. An extra enhancement in sensitivity by a
factor of 1.3 comes from a set of initial beam polarizations
Self-consistent calculation of semiconductor heterojunctions by using quantum genetic algorithm
In this study, we have investigated the ground state energy level of
electrons in modulation doped GaAs/AlxGa1-xAs heterojunctions. For this
purpose, Schrodinger and Poisson equations are solved self consistently using
quantum genetic algorithm (QGA). Thus, we have found the potential profile, the
ground state subband energy and their corresponding envelope functions, Fermi
level, and the amount of tunneling charge from barrier to channel region. Their
dependence on various device parameters are also examined.Comment: 16 pages, 5 figures, 1 tabl
Bottom trawl fishery discards in the Black Sea coast of Turkey
The purpose of this study is to determine the amount of bycatch and discardfish caught by bottom trawlers used in the Black Sea coasts of Turkey anddiscard changes depending on the depth. The study was conducted during theSeptember 2009 – April 2010 fishing season. Twenty-one bottom trawleroperations were sampled and the catch composition was determined. A total of 26species were caught, which included 22 species of fish, 2 species of arthropods,1 species of gastropods and 1 species of bivalves. Two of these were targetspecies (Mullusbarbatus, Merlangius merlangus), while 25 species werediscarded including trash fish and specimens below the legal size. A total of2142.76 kg of biomass was caught during the operations, of which 53.99 % bycatch. The weighted discard rate was determined as 42.06% and two different groupswere identified in discards (T1: 10-57 m, T2: 72-118 m) based on the depth. Significantdifferences were identified between these depth groups (p0.05) between theecological parameters of landings
A Study of Students’ Loneliness Levels and Their Attachment Styles
The purpose of this study was to examine the relationship between loneliness levels and attachment styles of university students. In this research, it was investigated whether the attachment styles differed in terms of variables such as gender, class, place of stay, socio-economic level of their family, parental education levels, counterpart friendship relations, number of siblings, whether to receive psychological help or not. This research was conducted as a relational search. A total of 247 university students selected randomly formed the sample of the research. The results of the research can be summarized as follows; Loneliness levels of those who perceive the socioeconomic status as low and those who didn't get psychological help are found to be higher. Male students and students who get psychological help have higher scores on secure attachment. According to the results of the research there’s a low negative correlation between the loneliness levels of students and dismissing attachment style, a low positive correlation between the loneliness level and preoccupied attachment style, and a low negative correlation between the loneliness level and secure attachment style
Examination of communication skills of physical education and sports teacher candidate students: Example of faculty of sports sciences: Beden eğitimi ve spor öğretmeni adayı öğrencilerin iletişim becerilerinin incelenmesi: Spor bilimleri fakültesi örneği
This study aimed to examine the communication skills of students who are studying in the physical education teaching department of the faculties of sports sciences and physical education and sports teacher candidates participating and pedagogical formation certificate program, according to demographic variables. The sample of the study consisted of a total of 377 students, 145 women and 232 men, who continue their education in the physical education teaching, coaching education, and sports management departments of the faculties of sports sciences in the 2019-2020 academic year. Personal information form and the “Communication Skills Scale” that is developed by Korkut Owen and Bugay (2014) were used as data collection tools. Since the data did not show a normal distribution, non-parametric tests were analyzed and descriptive statistics were used. According to the findings obtained, it was observed that the communication skills of the students were high in the sub-dimensions of “communication principles basic skills”, “self-expression”, “active listening and non-verbal communication" and close to high in the “willingness to communicate” sub-dimension. It was determined that the communication skills of the students differed according to their gender and grade levels, and did not differ according to their participation in the departments and pedagogical formation certificate program. As a result, it can be stated that the communication skills of the students studying in the faculties of sports sciences and participating in the pedagogical formation certificate program are generally high, and there is no difference between the students studying in the physical education department and the students participating in the pedagogical formation certificate program.

Eltrombopag for the treatment of immune thrombocytopenia: The aegean region of Turkey experience
Objective: Immune thrombocytopenia (ITP) is an immune-mediated disease characterized by transient or persistent decrease of the platelet count to less than 100x109/L. Although it is included in a benign disease group, bleeding complications may be mortal. With a better understanding of the pathophysiology of the disease, thrombopoietin receptor agonists, which came into use in recent years, seem to be an effective option in the treatment of resistant cases. This study aimed to retrospectively assess the efficacy, long-term safety, and tolerability of eltrombopag in Turkish patients with chronic ITP in the Aegean region of Turkey. Materials and Methods: Retrospective data of 40 patients with refractory ITP who were treated with eltrombopag in the Aegean region were examined and evaluated. Results: The total rate of response was 87%, and the median duration of response defined as the number of the platelets being over 50x109/L was 19.5 (interquartile range: 5-60) days. In one patient, venous sinus thrombosis was observed with no other additional risk factors due to or related to thrombosis. Another patient with complete response and irregular follow-up for 12 months was lost due to sudden death as the result of probable acute myocardial infarction. Conclusion: Although the responses to eltrombopag were satisfactory, patients need to be monitored closely for overshooting platelet counts as well as thromboembolic events. © 2015 Turkish Society of Hematology. A fast algorithm for constructing Arf closure and a conjecture
In this article, we give a fast and an easily implementable algorithm for computing the Arf closure of an irreducible algebroid curve (or a branch). Moreover, we study the relation between the branches having the same Arf closure and their regularity indices. We give some results and a conjecture, which are steps towards the interpretation of Arf closure as a specific way of taming the singularity. © 2014 Elsevier Inc
Early phases of different types of isolated neutron star
Two Galactic isolated strong X-ray pulsars seem to be in the densest
environments compared to other types of Galactic pulsar. X-ray pulsar
J1846-0258 can be in an early phase of anomalous X-ray pulsars and soft gamma
repeaters if its average braking index is ~1.8-2.0. X-ray pulsar J1811-1925
must have a very large average braking index (n~11) if this pulsar was formed
by SN 386AD. This X-ray pulsar can be in an early phase of evolution of the
radio pulsars located in the region P~50-150 ms and \.{P}~10
s/s of the P-\.{P} diagram. X-ray/radio pulsar J0540-69 seems to be evolving in
the direction to the dim isolated thermal neutron star region on the P-\.{P}
diagram. Possible progenitors of different types of neutron star are also
discussed.Comment: to appear in the International Journal of Modern Physics
Top Quark Spin Polarization in ep Collision
We discuss the degree of spin polarization of single top quarks produced via
fusion process in collision at TESLA+HERAp and CLIC+LHC energies
and 5.3 TeV. For subprocess we show that
the top quark spin is completely polarized when the spin basis is chosen in the
direction of the incoming positron beam in the rest frame of top quark. A
description on how to combine the cross sections of and
processes is given. -beam direction is
taken to be the favorite top quark spin decomposition axis in its rest frame
and it is found to be comparable with the ones in collision. It is argued
that theoretical simplicity and experimental clearness are the advantage of
collision.Comment: Revised version of Phys. Rev. D69 (2004)03401
