Fabric defects that occur during weaving production causes wastage at garment production. If fabric defects can not be detected during garment production, causes separation of the finished product as second quality. In this study, in a weaving mill, raw fabrics were inspected during three weeks for defect detection after weaving operation and results were investigated using statistical methods. Detected fabric defects has been classified and noted on quality control charts. For statistical investigation of number of defects pareto analysis and p control charts were used from statistical process control methods
Okvirno rješenje za difrakciju ravnog vala impedacijskom trakom: slučaj H-polarizacije
In this study, the diffraction of H-polarized plane wave by an infinitely long strip which has the same impedance on both faces with a width of 2a is investigated by using an analytical-numerical method. The diffracted field is obtained by an integral equation in terms of the electric and magnetic currents induced by the incident field. This integral equation is reduced to two uncoupled integral equations that include only induced electric and magnetic currents separately. Both of the currents are defined as a sum of infinite series of Gegenbauer polynomials with unknown coefficients satisfying the edge conditions. The integral equations are transformed to linear algebraic equations by using analytical methods and the unknown coefficients are determined by solving numerically obtained matrix equations. Numerical examples on the RCS (radar cross section) are presented, and the far field scattering characteristics of the strip are discussed in detail. Some of the obtained results are compared with the other existing method.U ovom radu istražuje se difrakcija H-polariziranog ravnog vala od beskonačno duge trake koja ima jednak otpor na obje strane i širinu 2a korištenjem analitičkog-numeričke metode.
Assessment of caramote prawn (Penaeus kerathurus) proximate value and freshness under ice storage
In this study, the flesh yield and proximate contents of caramote prawn, Penaeus kerathurus, were researched depending on sex and seasons. Furthermore, prawns were divided into two groups for freshness assessments at two different times. The first group of prawn was completely wrapped with the stretch film and aluminium foil and stored at room temperature. The second group was placed in water with ice and stored at 4±1 °C (ice storage). The shelf-life of P. kerathurus was determined. Trimethylamine-nitrogen (TMA-N) and pH were analysed to determine biochemical quality and total mesophilic count (TMC) was measured to determine the microbial quality. In addition, sensory analyses were also carried out. The flesh yield of P. kerathurus was on average 52%. It was found that percentages on average moisture, lipid, protein, and ash contents in P. kerathurus were 76.27%, 1.63%, 16.52%, and 1.98%, respectively, and these values changed depending on the season (P<0.01). Increases in TMA-N, pH, TMC values and changes in the sensory parameters were found statistically significant (P<0.05) in prawns throughout storage. According to sensory, chemical, and microbial analyses, it was found that shelf-life of P. kerathurus wrapped with aluminium foil and stretch film and stored at room temperature was 1 day. The shelf-life of P. kerathurus for ice storage was 9 days
Harmony of Retaining Systems to Various Local Subsoil Conditions – A Case Study
A case study for the utilization of various retaining systems for different subsoil and groundwater conditions encountered within a given site is presented in this paper. The project is known as “BJK Fulya Complex”, covering approximately 160,000 m2 floor area. It is located at a very prestigious district of the city, therefore maximum underground space gain were desired. As a result nearly 20 m of excavation is planned to be performed partly under groundwater. Due to unique topography and geology of the site, subsoil and groundwater conditions at various faces of the excavation differ considerably. Because of the complicated geology, budget constraints of the project and the high seismicity, it was compulsory to employ various retaining structures such as flexible and rigid retaining systems at various locations within the site including permanent and temporary soil nailing, permanent tie-back cast in-situ reinforced concrete wall and temporary tied-back diaphragm wall consist of soldier cast in-situ piles with jet grout columns in between. Performances of various systems are monitored closely by means of inclinometers. Displacement data and experience obtained from this case study serves an excellent source of data and example for future applications in similar conditions within the city
Text analytics on MOOCs. A comprehensive analysis of emotions
The value of diversity in education is highly emphasized in recent years, particularly in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, by many scholars. Massive open online courses (MOOCs) have aided the evolution of online learning by broadening the range of learning opportunities available. They have gained popularity, especially in higher education by providing unlimited access to lectures and rich learning materials by renowned and respected academics in a wide variety of areas, with no restrictions and at very low fees. Furthermore, learners' motivations for enrolling in a MOOC may vary depending on their choices for the course's instructional design as well as their emotions.
Knowing this, the development of more effective online courses that address affective concerns would appeal to a wider audience and improve the learning experience. This research aims to uncover the emotional characteristics of MOOCs to better understand why learners choose a specific course among hundreds of options available on MOOC sites. For extracting the learners' emotions from user reviews, the study used Kansei Engineering approach, which is enhanced with text analytics techniques. The research methodology entails gathering reviews from MOOCs and analyzing them using natural language processing (NLP) techniques to discover Kansei words that characterize MOOCs, notably for courses in the discipline of Data Science. The expected output of this study is a Kansei corpus for online courses in this discipline

Unraveling the molecular mechanism underlying ALS-linked astrocyte toxicity for motor neurons
Mutations in superoxide dismutase-1 (SOD1) cause a familial form of amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), a fatal paralytic disorder. Transgenic mutant SOD1 rodents capture the hallmarks of this disease, which is characterized by a progressive loss of motor neurons. Studies in chimeric and conditional transgenic mutant SOD1 mice indicate that non-neuronal cells, such as astrocytes, play an important role in motor neuron degeneration. Consistent with this non-cell autonomous scenario are the demonstrations that wild-type primary and embryonic stem cell-derived motor neurons selectively degenerate when cultured in the presence of either mutant SOD1-expressing astrocytes or medium conditioned with such mutant astrocytes. The work in this thesis rests on the use of an unbiased genomic strategy that combines RNA-Seq and "reverse gene engineering" algorithms in an attempt to decipher the molecular underpinnings of motor neuron degeneration caused by mutant astrocytes. To allow such analyses, first, mutant SOD1-induced toxicity on purified embryonic stem cell-derived motor neurons was validated and characterized. This was followed by the validation of signaling pathways identified by bioinformatics in purified embryonic stem cell-derived motor neurons, using both pharmacological and genetic techniques, leading to the discovery that nuclear factor kappa B (NF-κB) is instrumental in the demise of motor neurons exposed to mutant astrocytes in vitro. These findings demonstrate the usefulness of this novel genomic approach to study neurodegeneration and to point to NF-κB as a potential valuable therapeutic target for ALS
