Molecular Characterization of Native Entomopathogenic Fungi from Ambrosia Beetles in Hazelnut Orchards of Turkey and Evaluation of Their In Vitro Efficacy
Ambrosia beetles, Anisandrus dispar Fabricius, Xylosandrus germanus Blandford, and Xyleborinus saxesenii Ratzeburg (Coleoptera: Curculionidae: Scolytinae) are among the most significant hazelnut pests in Turkey. The control of these pests is difficult and expensive due to their biology. The present study aimed to isolate entomopathogenic fungi (EPF) from A. dispar, X. germanus, and X. saxesenii individuals that were obtained from the main hazelnut production areas of Turkey, characterize the EPF isolates using internal transcribed spacer (ITS)-DNA sequencing and iPBS profiling, and determine the efficacy of the isolates against A. dispar, X. germanus, and X. saxesenii under laboratory conditions. Phylogenetic analyses based on ITS revealed that the 47 native isolates were Beauveria bassiana (11), B. pseudobassiana (8), Cordyceps fumosorosea (6), Cordyceps farinosa (1), Akanthomyces lecanii (13), Purpureocillium lilacinum (3), Clonostachys rosea (2) and Metarhizium anisopliae (3). For the first time, the primer binding site (PBS) marker system, based on retrotransposons, was used to discriminate successfully among the EPF species. Some isolates of B. bassiana, B. pseudobassiana, C. fumosorosea, A. lecanii, and M. anisopliae caused 100% mortality of the beetle species within 7 to 9 days. The findings of this study indicated that some isolated entomopathogenic fungi provide an essential basis for the development of bioproducts, as well as a promising alternative method for controlling these ambrosia beetles

The genetic history of the Southern Arc: a bridge between West Asia and Europe
By sequencing 727 ancient individuals from the Southern Arc (Anatolia and its neighbors in Southeastern Europe and West Asia) over 10,000 years, we contextualize its Chalcolithic period and Bronze Age (about 5000 to 1000 BCE), when extensive gene flow entangled it with the Eurasian steppe. Two streams of migration transmitted Caucasus and Anatolian/Levantine ancestry northward, and the Yamnaya pastoralists, formed on the steppe, then spread southward into the Balkans and across the Caucasus into Armenia, where they left numerous patrilineal descendants. Anatolia was transformed by intra–West Asian gene flow, with negligible impact of the later Yamnaya migrations. This contrasts with all other regions where Indo-European languages were spoken, suggesting that the homeland of the Indo-Anatolian language family was in West Asia, with only secondary dispersals of non-Anatolian Indo-Europeans from the steppe

Sultan II. Abdülhamid, XIX. yüzyılın son çeyreği ile XX. yüzyılın ilk yıllarında Osmanlı Devleti’nin başında bulunmuş ve dış politika uygulamalarıyla bu döneme damgasını vurmuştur. II.
II. Abdülhamid döneminde Osmanlı Devleti’nin diğer devletlerle ilişkileri ve politikaları hakkında birçok eser bulunmasına rağmen Afrika politikası hakkında pek eser bulunmamaktadır. Bu konuyu ele almamızdaki sebep, pek araştırılmayan II. Abdülhamid’in Afrika politikasını objektif bir şekilde okuyucuya aktarmaktır. Çalışmamızda Sultan II. Abdülhamid’in Panislamizm politikasına sıkça değineceğiz.Sultan II Abdulhamid was the Sultan of the Ottoman Empire during the final years of the 20th century and into the early years of the 21st century and struck this turning mark with his foreign policy implementations. He was most successful in the foreign policy implementations during his 33 year reign. The balance policy, which was followed throughout the reign, relieved the Ottoman State a bit.
The main purpose of the Sultan's foreign policy is to ensure that the Ottoman Empire lives in peace. Sultan II. Abdulhamid saw the breakdown of the Ottoman Empire and the liberation of the Islamic world in the union of the Muslims. The Sultan has tried to carry out these activities effectively in the framework of Pan-Islamism policy.
In this study of Sultan II Abdulhamid, in the context of Abdulhamid's Islamic Union policy, we tried to evaluate African politics and its activities in this region. Africa, as it has been in the past, is a land where important developments are experienced today. Africa is a region where colonial incidents are experienced the most frequently in the world today.
Although there are many works on the relations and politics of the ottoman state with other states, we could not find many writings about Abdulhamid's work on African policy. The reason why we consider this issue is to convey the objective of African politics, which is not well known, to the reader. We will frequently refer to the politics of the Ottoman Sultan's Pan-Islamism
Ortaklaşa karışık modellemede rassal etkenlerin dağılım varsayımları.
Joint mixed model is an appealing approach in medical research where it is critical to estimate the odds of a fatal complication that occurs to a patient given the covariate profile such as a risk factor observed over time. For this kind of estimation, joint mixed model is used. In the standard Bayesian analysis of the model, the error variance and random effects’ variance-covariance matrix are apriori modeled independently with Inverse-Gamma and Inverse-Wishart distributions respectively. Recently however, it is shown that joint apriori modeling via Generalized Multivariate Log-Gamma (G-MVLG) distribution is more efficient than the standard Bayesian analysis for these variance components. Our current aim is to inverstigate the robustness of G-MVLG based and standard analysis to random effects’ distributions. Bivariate Gamma, Bivariate Skew-Normal, Normal distribution and their mixture distributions were considered for the true distribution of random effects. Results show that the G-MVLG approach is robust to the underlying true distribution of random effects when the sample size is sufficiently large. For small samples, a robust approach. Simulations and real data study show that DPP for the random effects distributions is less biased and more efficient.M.S. - Master of Scienc

BEING A HAPPY TEACHER IN A PRIVATE SCHOOL
