    LAND CHARACTERISTICS TO INCREASE SUGAR CONTENT OF MELON FRUIT (Cucumis melo)

    Sugar content is primary importance in determining the quality of melon fruit. Quality melon Nganjuk region, Madiun and Ngawi when glucose levels decreased to below ten (10) Brix, so that does not taste sweet and not durable to be stored. Departing from low sugar levels, which pushed to find reasons for the decrease in sugar content of fruit in terms of land characteristics and environmental characteristics. The purpose of this study is to examine the characteristics of land to do with the chemical characteristics of fruit, especially melons melon fruit sugar content. Materials are. (1) The soil layer 0-20 cm of the soil surface. Soil samples from the center area are Nganjuk melons, Madiun and Ngawi. Each regional center of the melon is represented by six (6) observation point on land characteristics. Observations on land characteristics include. Climate data from the station or the nearest local climatology, physical characteristics, chemical and biological soil, and soil geomorphology. Climate data and geomorphological data useful for determining the level of land suitability for crop melons, while data on land characteristics useful for identification of land quality and soil fertility degree to which the modeling of the relationship with the Chemical characteristics of melonfruit. The results of this study indicate that nearly all regions Region. Ngawi, Madiun and Nganjuk there is a limiting factor content of C-Organic and low potassium. Usaha yang berhasil ialah yang mampu bersaing dan unggul diantara para pesaingnya, atau yang disebut sebagai berkeunggulan kompetitif. Keunggulan kompetitif suatu USAha merupakan hasil dari strategi yang dijalankan dalam mengelola USAhanya tersebut. Salah satu strategi utama yang berperan penting dalam menentukan keunggulan kompetitif suatu USAha ialah strategi operasi.     The purpose of this research is to examine the relationship between job stress, job support, family support, and family stress , with work-family conflict. Variabel in this research were measured via survey of 226 student Magister Management on the University in the DIY. Multiple Regression Analysis were used to examine the effect to antecedent of work-family conflict. Result showed in this research that job stress, family support, and family stress significantly related to work-family conflict, but no significantly related with family support. .     Permasalahan yang sering terjadi bagi pelaku UMKM di desa adalah produk kurang bisa bersaing di pasar dan juga terbatasnya lingkup pemasaran hanya pada lingkungan sekitar. Permasalahan ini bisa diatasi salah satunya dengan cara memperbaiki produk melalui strategi branding dan packaging. Oleh karena itu tujuan dari kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini adalah untuk memberi pemahaman kepada para pelaku UMKM di Desa Ganggeng tentang pentingnya packaging dan branding produk, membantu untuk menaikan kualitas kemasan produk, dan membantu memiliki brand untuk produk mereka agar mampu bersaing di pasaran. Kegiatan ini dilaksanakan dalam bentuk ceramah dan praktek. Ceramah dilakukan dengan memberikan materi yang diberikan kepada peserta dan dilengkapi dengan makalah. Setelah penyampaian materi, peserta dibimbing dalam kegiatan praktek. Tujuan praktek ini adalah agar peserta kegiatan benar-benar dapat menggunakan dan menerapkan materi pelatihan yang nantinya akan digunakan dalam kegiatan bisnis UMKM-nya. Praktek dibimbing langsung oleh pemateri dengan bantuan beberapa mahasiswa.     Organizational Culture, Commitment and Teacher Performance: The Role of Job Satisfaction

    Teacher performance today is very much needed so that teachers can overcome and anticipate the challenges of changing times. An organization can make several efforts to improve the performance of its members, such as forming a strong organizational culture and commitment and creating job satisfaction for its members. This study aimed to examine the effect of organizational culture and commitment on teacher performance either directly or mediated by job satisfaction. The study respondents were private vocational high school teachers in Purworejo Regency in Indonesia using purposive sampling. The data was collected using a questionnaire, and then the data was processed using the Smart Partial Least Square method. The results indicate that organizational culture has a positive effect on teacher performance, while organizational commitment does not affect performance. Organizational culture and organizational commitment affect job satisfaction. Job satisfaction has an effect on performance. The conclusion from the results of this study is that organizational culture and organizational commitment, and the mediating role of job satisfaction are important factors for improving teacher performance. Keywords: Teacher performance, organizational culture, commitment, job satisfactio

    The Effect of Rice Husk Biochar and Cow Manure on Some Soil Characteristics, N and P Uptake and Plant Growth of Soybean in Alfisol

    The effect of biochar on dryland in Madura has not been fully assessed. The objective of this study was to investigate the effect of biochar and animal manure on some soil characteristics, namely water content at field capacity, CEC, N total, available P, and N and P absorption, and plant growth of soybean in Alfisol. The research was arranged on a Randomized Completely Block Design (RCBD) with four replications. Rice husk biochar was mixed with cow manure and applied at the range of 2.5 - 10 Mg ha-1. The result showed that biochar (2.5 Mg ha-1) and cow manure (7.5 Mg ha-1) improved soil characteristics, plant growth, and soybean yield by 22%. Cow manure in this study would function as a source of nutrients while rice husk biochar acted as storage of nutrients that were then released slowly to soil solution for plant uptake. It was concluded that the mixture of 2.5 Mg rice husk biochar ha-1 and 7.5 Mg cow manure ha-1 could be the best combination of soil amendments to apply in an Alfisol in Madura

    Organizational behavior is a refl ection of the attitudes and behaviors of employees who believed based on the perception of the individual to improve their performance. The purpose of study will describe the infl uence of organization-based self-esteem (OBSE) on organizational citizenship behavior (OCB) mediated self effi cacy. The research was quantitative methode and to collect data using instruments measuring instrument adapted from self-effi cacy (Bandura, 1997), OBSE (Pierce, Gardner, Cummings, & Dunham, 1989, 1993) and OCB (Williams & Anderson, 1991). Samples of the research were hospital employees, group D both medical and nonmedical employees in the region of Yogyakarta Province.     Quadruple Helix Innovation Model for Rural Development: The Case of Sukaraja Tourist Village in Indonesia

    Tourist villages in Indonesia have a very important role in rural development. The village is the smallest unit of rural development in Indonesia that has its own autonomy in management. Even though there are many innovation models have been well developed in some parts of the world, but it has yet to be implemented in Indonesia. Quadruple helix innovation model has been introduced in developed countries to develop their countries. Thus, this model is seen suitable to be adapted in some villages in Indonesia to achieve prosperity and to improve the welfare of Indonesian society. In general, this research is aimed to adapt the quadruple helix innovation model for the tourist village in Tasikmalaya, West Java, Indonesia. Specifically, this research is aimed to (1) identify the driver for the village development, (2) examine the process of village development, and (3) adapt a model of the village process development. The design for this research is a case study. This case study is conducted in a Sukaraja tourist village in Tasikmalaya, West Java that is chosen purposely. Sukaraja Village is chosen as a study location because it has economic potential in terms of tourism and handicrafts. From the existing condition of socioeconomic and cultural in Sukaraja Village this study adapts a quadruple helix innovation model using soft system methodology to achieve prosperity and to improve the welfare of the village community. The results of this study show that (1) the driver for the village development is a tourism industry that have to manage professionally, therefore have to run by village-owned enterprise (2) the process of village development is a holistic process and cannot be done just by single institution, and (3) the model of process development called a quadruple helix innovation model, which is using synergies from four institutions in the village, there are the village government, the village industries, the village education system and the village industrial community. As a whole, the quadruple helix innovation model can be used to improve village welfare communities and in turn will enhance the prosperity of Indonesian society as a whole
