Le texte littéraire, passeur culturel et interculturel ? Discours d'enseignants et pratiques de classe dans une université algérienne.

Le présent article s\u27intéresse aux dynamiques interculturelles qui se manifestent dans les interactions "autour" d\u27un texte littéraire  (un extrait du Figuier enchanté de Marco Micone), lors d\u27un cours de littérature dans une université algérienne. Trois aspects retiennent plus particulièrement notre attention : - quel est la place de cette dimension interculturelle dans la lecture du texte menée par l\u27enseignante ; - quelles sont les modalités du dialogue entre soi et l’autre (les autres) qui se tisse dans cette lecture ; - quels sont les tensions et les conflits nés de cette dynamique ? L’étude de cette séquence met en évidence les dynamiques (inter) culturelles à l’œuvre lors de la lecture d’un texte littéraire, témoigne des potentialités de  cette  approche ; elle est aussi révélatrice des difficultés à mener  à bien de  manière  pertinente  cette démarche (inter) culturelle et de la  concilier avec une lecture attentive du texte.

Poésie et musique : propositions pour la classe de langue

Cet article est consacré à à la poésie mise en musique, à la place et au rôle qu’il est possible de lui attribuer dans l’enseignement du français langue étrangère. Après avoir rappelé brièvement quand et comment, dans l’histoire littéraire, la poésie a pu être accompagnée de musique et / ou mise en voix , nous nous plaçons sur le terrain de la pratique : quels poèmes en musique travailler dans la classe de FLE ? quelles activités mettre en œuvre ? à quelles fins 

Littératures francophones et formation des enseignants de FLE

Alors qu’en France les littératures francophones sont marginalisées dans les programmes des licences et masters de lettres, elles apparaissent régulièrement dans les cours des «parcours» ou «mention» FLE de licence, tout comme dans ceux des masters de didactique du FLE. Nous nous interrogeons ici, en prenant appui sur une enquête par questionnaire menée auprès d\u27étudiants de master FLE, sur les raisons de cette présence des littératures francophones dans ces cours, qui pourrait sembler de prime abord inattendue, mais renvoie de fait à l’attention qui leur est portée depuis une quinzaine d’années dans le domaine de la didactique du FLE. Quelle place tiennent-elles dans les formations ? Quels objectifs leur sont assignés ? Que connaissent  ces futurs enseignants de FLE de ces littératures ? Quel rôle pensent-ils qu’elles puissent tenir dans leur pratique future

The papal legat at the Chinese court . Fragments of Acta Pekinensia

In this article the author presents a history of the papal legation of Charles Maillard de Tournon to the court of the Kangxi Imperor, which was one of the most imporant and dramatic episode of so called Chinese Rites Controversy. This legation has been described by a German Jesuit Bernhard Kilian Stumpf in a Latin manuscript entitled "Acta Pekinensia".Text presents in detail the audience of the patriarch of Antioch and Apostolic Visitor of the Indies, papal Legate Charles Thomas Maillard de Tournon to the Kangxi Emperor Court in December 1705. This meeting of the Chinese Emperor and the representative of the Holy See have been described by Kilian Stumpf SI in a monumental manuscript entitled Acta Pekinensia. Complicated personality of Maillard de Tournon and his completely undiplomatic way of doing were the cause of the series of dramatic events as Kangxi’s decree of December 17, 1706, Tournon’s deportation, his house arrest in Macao and his premature death in 1710. The Tournon’s mission to China was a decisive stage of the history of the Rites Contorversy and also of the relationships between the Middle Kingdom and all Catolic world (and the Holy See in particular), which has officially caused a refusal of Ricci’s accomodation method and in consequence total ruin of the Catholic Church to China. Enseigner le français en contexte universitaire à des étudiants non francophones en mobilité : quelle place pour les littératures francophones ?

The role of literature in language teaching has been re-assessed ; it has been documented in numerous work, many of them paying a special attention to francophone literature, which seems to be able to function as a bridge between languages and cultures. This paper will analyze individual interviews conducted with teachers  working in French-language university centers. How do they define this corpus (including, or not, french «hexagonal» literature ?)  Which place and functions do they assign to theses litteratures in their teaching practices 

Kristapurāṇa: Reshaping Divine Space

If a place is simply a physical location, the word space can be used for something shaped by mental processes. Physical places influence our lives by putting limits to the physically practicable, whereas spaces exercise their influence through mental processes like shaping our beliefs, values and sentiments. A space may be a mental superstructure based on an actual place, but, since its power is mental, it is not necessary that this place physically exists. One such space, with power to affect the lives of human beings, is heaven. Belief in heaven has had and still has great impact on many people’s thinking and acting. Interlopers at the Fringes of Empire: The Procurators of the Propaganda Fide Papal Congregation in Canton and Macao, 1700-1823

The office of the procurator of the papal Sacred Congregation for the Propagation of the Faith (Sacra Congregatio de Propaganda Fide) offers a unique case study of noncommercial interloping in the long eighteenth century in the Pearl River Delta, and reveals the complexity and fluidity of life at the intersection of Asian and European maritime environments in that special human ecosystem. The oceanic infrastructure of the Age of Sail and the Sino-Western trade system in Canton sustained the Catholic missionary enterprise in Asia, and the professional figure of the procurator represented its economic and political linchpin. Procurators were agents connected with both European and Qing imperial formations, yet not directly at their service. They utilized existing maritime trade networks to their own advantage without being integral parts of those networks’ economic mechanisms. All the while, they subverted Qing prohibitions against Christianity. Using sources preserved in Rome, this article offers new insights into the global mechanisms of trade, communication, and religious exchange embodied by the procurators-interlopers and their networks, with significant implications for the history of the Sino-Western trade system, Qing policies toward the West and Christianity, and the history of Asian Catholic missions.
