    Understanding Interactions in Vehicular Networks Through Taxi Mobility

    International audienceVehicular Networks (VANETs) are an emerging network that enables the communication among the vehicles, in order to promote a safe and efficient traffic, avoiding crashes and preventing hazards. These vehicles transit on the streets and highways, and during their trajectories, they can communicate with each other or with another network, through interactions among them and road side units. Aiming to better understand these interactions, in this work, we characterize the vehicular mobility through a detailed analysis of dataset traces, which portray the mobility of a group of taxis in a great city. We perform the analysis using statistical techniques, graph theory and network analysis, extracting properties and behaviors from the mobility traces. The results reveal the existence of regularity and common interests in the studied traces

    An Analysis of a Real Mobility Trace Based on Standard Mobility Metrics

    Better understanding mobility, being it from pedestrians or any other moving object, is practical and insightful. Practical due to its applications to the fundamentals of communication, with special attention to wireless communication. Insightful because it might pinpoint the pros and cons of how we are moving, or being moved, around. There are plenty of studies focused on mobility in mobile wireless networks, including the proposals of several synthetic mobility models. Getting real mobility traces is not an easy task, but there has been some efforts to provide traces to the public through repositories. Synthetic mobility models are usually analyzed through mobility metrics, which are designed to capture mobility subtleties. This work research on the applicability of some representative mobility metrics for real traces analysis. To achieve that goal, a case study is accomplished with a dataset of mobility traces of taxi cabs in the city of Rome/Italy. The results suggest that the mobility metrics under consideration are capable of capturing mobility properties which would otherwise require more sophisticated analytical approaches

    Big Data has significant impact in developing functional smart cities and supporting modern societies. In this paper, we investigate the importance of Big Data in modern life and economy, and discuss challenges arising from Big Data utilization. Different computational intelligence techniques have been considered as tools for Big Data analytics. We also explore the powerful combination of Big Data and Computational Intelligence (CI) and identify a number of areas, where novel applications in real world smart city problems can be developed by utilizing these powerful tools and techniques. We present a case study for intelligent transportation in the context of a smart city, and a novel data modelling methodology based on a biologically inspired universal generative modelling approach called Hierarchical Spatial-Temporal State Machine (HSTSM). We further discuss various implications of policy, protection, valuation and commercialization related to Big Data, its applications and deployment

    An Agent-based Modelling Framework for Driving Policy Learning in Connected and Autonomous Vehicles

    Due to the complexity of the natural world, a programmer cannot foresee all possible situations, a connected and autonomous vehicle (CAV) will face during its operation, and hence, CAVs will need to learn to make decisions autonomously. Due to the sensing of its surroundings and information exchanged with other vehicles and road infrastructure, a CAV will have access to large amounts of useful data. While different control algorithms have been proposed for CAVs, the benefits brought about by connectedness of autonomous vehicles to other vehicles and to the infrastructure, and its implications on policy learning has not been investigated in literature. This paper investigates a data driven driving policy learning framework through an agent-based modelling approaches. The contributions of the paper are two-fold. A dynamic programming framework is proposed for in-vehicle policy learning with and without connectivity to neighboring vehicles. The simulation results indicate that while a CAV can learn to make autonomous decisions, vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V) communication of information improves this capability. Furthermore, to overcome the limitations of sensing in a CAV, the paper proposes a novel concept for infrastructure-led policy learning and communication with autonomous vehicles. In infrastructure-led policy learning, road-side infrastructure senses and captures successful vehicle maneuvers and learns an optimal policy from those temporal sequences, and when a vehicle approaches the road-side unit, the policy is communicated to the CAV. Deep-imitation learning methodology is proposed to develop such an infrastructure-led policy learning framework

    Novi Zakon o obveznim odnosima promijenio je naziv instituta bankarske garancije u bankarsko jamstvo i pojam tog instituta izložen u čl. 1039. st. 1. i 2. (tako da se sada pod nazivom bankarskog jamstva pojavljuje samostalna bankarska garancija), dok ostale odredbe ranijeg ZOO-a sadržajno nisu promijenjene. Bankovna garancija jeste samostalna obveza banke garanta koja je akcesorna obveza jamca. Banka garant ne osigurava ispunjenje obveze glavnog dužnika, naprotiv, obvezuje se korisniku garancije nadoknaditi štetu, odnosno izvršiti obvezu koju u ugovorenom roku nije izvršio glavni dužnik. U radu izlažem pitanja u svezi s oblikom i vrstama garancije, kvalifikacijom i nastankom bančine obveze prema korisniku, pretpostavkama isplate, prenosivošću i potvrdom garancije kao i njihovoj zlouporabi.The new Law of mandatory relations has changed the name of the bank warranty to bank assurance and complete connotation is represented in article 1039. in section 1 and 2. (according to which, under the name of bank warranty is independent bank assurance) while other provisions from the Law of mandatory relations have not been significantly contextually changed. Bank warranty is independent obligation of the warrant bank, which is accessory obligation of the guarantor. Warrant bank does not assure implementation of the main debtor’s obligation, but it commits to compensate potential detriment towards the warranty user, in the other words, implement the obligation which has not been realized by the main debtor in specified time period
