    Usability framework for mobile augmented reality language learning

    After several decades since its introduction, the existing ISO9241-11 usability framework is still vastly used in Mobile Augmented Reality (MAR) language learning. The existing framework is generic and can be applied to diverse emerging technologies such as electronic and mobile learning. However, technologies like MAR have interaction properties that are significantly unique and require different usability processes. Hence, implementing the existing framework on MAR can lead to non-optimized, inefficient, and ineffective outcomes. Furthermore, state-of-the-art analysis models such as machine learning are not apparent in MAR usability studies, despite evidence of positive outcomes in other learning technologies. In recent MAR learning studies, machine learning benefits such as problem identification and prioritization were non-existent. These setbacks could slow down the advancement of MAR language learning, which mainly aims to improve language proficiency among MAR users, especially in English communication. Therefore, this research proposed the Usability Framework for MAR (UFMAR) that addressed the currently identified research problems and gaps in language learning. UFMAR introduced an improved data collection method called Individual Interaction Clustering-based Usability Measuring Instrument (IICUMI), followed by a machine learning-driven analysis model called Clustering-based Usability Prioritization Analysis (CUPA) and a prioritization quantifier called Usability Clustering Prioritization Model (UCPM). UFMAR showed empirical evidence of significantly improving usability in MAR, capitalizing on its unique interaction properties. UFMAR enhanced the existing framework with new abilities to systematically identify and prioritize MAR usability issues. Through the experimental results of UFMAR, it was found that the IICUMI method was 50% more effective, while CUPA and UCPM were 57% more effective than the existing framework. The outcome through UFMAR also produced 86% accuracy in analysis results and was 79% more efficient in framework implementation. UFMAR was validated through three cycles of the experimental processes, with triangulation through expert reviews, to be proven as a fitting framework for MAR language learning

    Comparative Analysis of Student Learning: Technical, Methodological and Result Assessing of PISA-OECD and INVALSI-Italian Systems .

    PISA is the most extensive international survey promoted by the OECD in the field of education, which measures the skills of fifteen-year-old students from more than 80 participating countries every three years. INVALSI are written tests carried out every year by all Italian students in some key moments of the school cycle, to evaluate the levels of some fundamental skills in Italian, Mathematics and English. Our comparison is made up to 2018, the last year of the PISA-OECD survey, even if INVALSI was carried out for the last edition in 2022. Our analysis focuses attention on the common part of the reference populations, which are the 15-year-old students of the 2nd class of secondary schools of II degree, where both sources give a similar picture of the students

    Le Web Mining (WM) reste une technologie relativement mĂ©connue. Toutefois, si elle est utilisĂ©e adĂ©quatement, elle s'avĂšre ĂȘtre d'une grande utilitĂ© pour l'identification des profils et des comportements des clients prospects et existants, dans un contexte internet. Les avancĂ©es techniques du WM amĂ©liorent grandement le volet analytique de la Gestion de la Relation Client (GRC). Cette Ă©tude suit une approche exploratoire afin de dĂ©terminer si le WM atteint, Ă  lui seul, tous les objectifs fondamentaux de la GRC, ou le cas Ă©chĂ©ant, devrait ĂȘtre utilisĂ© de maniĂšre conjointe avec la recherche marketing traditionnelle et les mĂ©thodes classiques de la GRC analytique (GRCa) pour optimiser la GRC, et de fait le marketing, dans un contexte internet. La connaissance obtenue par le WM peut ensuite ĂȘtre administrĂ©e au sein de l'organisation dans un cadre de Gestion de la Connaissance (GC), afin d'optimiser les relations avec les clients nouveaux et/ou existants, amĂ©liorer leur expĂ©rience client et ultimement, leur fournir de la meilleure valeur. Dans un cadre de recherche exploratoire, des entrevues semi-structurĂ©s et en profondeur furent menĂ©es afin d'obtenir le point de vue de plusieurs experts en (web) data rnining. L'Ă©tude rĂ©vĂ©la que le WM est bien appropriĂ© pour segmenter les clients prospects et existants, pour comprendre les comportements transactionnels en ligne des clients existants et prospects, ainsi que pour dĂ©terminer le statut de loyautĂ© (ou de dĂ©fection) des clients existants. Il constitue, Ă  ce titre, un outil d'une redoutable efficacitĂ© prĂ©dictive par le biais de la classification et de l'estimation, mais aussi descriptive par le biais de la segmentation et de l'association. En revanche, le WM est moins performant dans la comprĂ©hension des dimensions sous-jacentes, moins Ă©videntes du comportement client. L'utilisation du WM est moins appropriĂ©e pour remplir des objectifs liĂ©s Ă  la description de la maniĂšre dont les clients existants ou prospects dĂ©veloppent loyautĂ©, satisfaction, dĂ©fection ou attachement envers une enseigne sur internet. Cet exercice est d'autant plus difficile que la communication multicanale dans laquelle Ă©voluent les consommateurs a une forte influence sur les relations qu'ils dĂ©veloppent avec une marque. Ainsi le comportement en ligne ne serait qu'une transposition ou tout du moins une extension du comportement du consommateur lorsqu'il n'est pas en ligne. Le WM est Ă©galement un outil relativement incomplet pour identifier le dĂ©veloppement de la dĂ©fection vers et depuis les concurrents ainsi que le dĂ©veloppement de la loyautĂ© envers ces derniers. Le WM nĂ©cessite toujours d'ĂȘtre complĂ©tĂ© par la recherche marketing traditionnelle afin d'atteindre ces objectives plus difficiles mais essentiels de la GRCa.     Sharing Economy Business Models : Addressing the design-implementation gap

    Despite sharing being a long-practiced form of consumption, the concept ‘sharing economy’ has emerged only recently. New business models have proliferated, utilising technology to reduce transaction costs and facilitate shared access. Societal actors have taken interest in the sharing economy, to reduce resource consumption, foster social cohesion, and support the economy. However, sharing economy business models facilitate a wide array of consumption practices, including sharing, renting, borrowing, lending, bartering, swapping, trading, exchanging, gifting, buying second-hand, and even buying new goods. Past academic research and media attention tend to focus on unicorns such as Airbnb and Uber. There is greater need to explore the diverse permutations of business models within the sharing economy, especially considering sustainability.However, a gap exists between the design and successful implementation of sharing economy business models. This research aims to advance and structure knowledge about the sharing economy and sustainable business models, by using business modelling methods to study the design and implementation of sharing economy business models. Inspired by design science, this research engages in prescriptive theory-building and design- oriented research to construct and evaluate design artefacts. Incorporating data materials from people, documents, and literature, the research strategies of grounded theory and desk research are utilised to support methods for data collection and data analysis.The research proposes a prescriptive definition of the sharing economy as a socio-economic system that leverages technology to mediate two-sided markets, which facilitate temporary access to goods that are under- utilised, tangible, and rivalrous. From this, four design principles guide the formation of the sharing economy business model framework, which capture three value dimensions, sixteen business model attributes, and eighty- nine configuration options. This research proposes a coherent design theory to support the conceptualisation of sharing economy business models for sustainability.Additional artefacts are developed to support the successful implementation of these business models. First, business model patterns provide the justificatory knowledge to select relevant business model attributes in specific contexts. Then, a systematic framework measures the social impact of sharing platforms across four aspects – trust, empowerment, social justice, and inclusivity. Finally, organisational response strategies to COVID-19 are established in the sharing economy.The primary contribution of this research is conceptual, with additional modest methodological and empirical contributions.
