A systematic review of data quality issues in knowledge discovery tasks

El desafío mas fundamental es la exploración de los grandes volúmenes de datos y la extracción de conocimiento útil para futuras acciones por medio de tareas para el descubrimiento del conocimiento; sin embargo, muchos datos presentan mala calidad. Presentamos una revisión sistemática de los asuntos de calidad de datos en las áreas del descubrimiento de conocimiento y un estudio de caso aplicado a la enfermedad agrícola conocida como la roya del café.Large volume of data is growing because the organizations are continuously capturing the collective amount of data for better decision-making process. The most fundamental challenge is to explore the large volumes of data and extract useful knowledge for future actions through knowledge discovery tasks, nevertheless many data has poor quality. CogCell: Cognitive Interplay between 60GHz Picocells and 2.4/5GHz Hotspots in the 5G Era
Rapid proliferation of wireless communication devices and the emergence of a
variety of new applications have triggered investigations into next-generation
mobile broadband systems, i.e., 5G. Legacy 2G--4G systems covering large areas
were envisioned to serve both indoor and outdoor environments. However, in the
5G-era, 80\% of overall traffic is expected to be generated in indoors. Hence,
the current approach of macro-cell mobile network, where there is no
differentiation between indoors and outdoors, needs to be reconsidered. We
envision 60\,GHz mmWave picocell architecture to support high-speed indoor and
hotspot communications. We envisage the 5G indoor network as a combination of-,
and interplay between, 2.4/5\,GHz having robust coverage and 60\,GHz links
offering high datarate. This requires an intelligent coordination and
cooperation. We propose 60\,GHz picocellular network architecture, called
CogCell, leveraging the ubiquitous WiFi. We propose to use 60\,GHz for the data
plane and 2.4/5GHz for the control plane. The hybrid network architecture
considers an opportunistic fall-back to 2.4/5\,GHz in case of poor connectivity
in the 60\,GHz domain. Further, to avoid the frequent re-beamforming in 60\,GHz
directional links due to mobility, we propose a cognitive module -- a
sensor-assisted intelligent beam switching procedure -- which reduces the
communication overhead. We believe that the CogCell concept will help future
indoor communications and possibly outdoor hotspots, where mobile stations and

Information Systems and Healthcare XX: Toward Seamless Healthcare with Software Agents
Healthcare processes are frequently fragmented and often badly supported with IT. Inter- and intra-organizational communication and media frictions complicate the continuous provision of information according to the principle of information logistics. Based on extensive literature review, we present the vision of seamless healthcare with horizontally and vertically integrated healthcare processes enabled by seamless IT support. Its implementation requires the establishment of a communication infrastructure and the deployment of adequate standards in healthcare. There are already comprehensive approaches for dealing with integrating heterogeneous information systems. However, they lack a common communication infrastructure and do not support proactivity and flexibility which are dominant characteristics in healthcare. We propose a software agent-based approach for realizing the vision of seamless healthcare. We present a corresponding implementation for integrating heterogeneous information systems in the context of the German Health Telematics Infrastructure. Based on the concept and the implementation, we show that the modular approach is capable of supporting a wide range of different applications. We furthermore outline which facets of an agent-based solution could be implemented in an operative real-world environment. In closing we derive implications for IT decision makers in healthcare and show directions for future approaches for reducing information logistics related deficits in healthcare
A review of electric vehicle charge point map websites in the NSR: Interim report
This interim report is a review of the EV charge point (station) map websites in the North Sea Region (NSR) with the aim to identify if there are any patterns, or any noticeable gaps on the information presented by the interactive EV charge point tools. For each example of the charge point (station) map website, a review has been undertaken by visiting the charge point (station) map website and recording if the site contains the information, which is of key importance from an EV user perspective, for example an interactive map; any information on the charger power of the charge points (stations); the type of connection of the charge points (stations); the addresses of the charge points (stations) and further helpful details
Vehicle telematics for safer, cleaner and more sustainable urban transport:a review
Urban transport contributes more than a quarter of the global greenhouse gas emissionns that drive climate change; it also produces significant air pollution emissions. Furthermore, vehicle collisions kill and seriously injure 1.35 and 60 million people worldwide, respectively, each year. This paper reviews how vehicle telematics can contribute towards safer, cleaner and more sustainable urban transport. Collection methods are reviewed with a focus on technical challenges, including data processing, storage and privacy concerns. We review how vehicle telematics can be used to estimate transport variables, such as traffic flow speed, driving characteristics, fuel consumption and exhaustive and non-exhaustive emissions. The roles of telematics in the development of intelligent transportation systems (ITSs), optimised routing services, safer road networks and fairer insurance premia estimation are highlighted. Finally, we outline the potential for telematics to facilitate new-to-market urban mobility technologies, signalised intersections, vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V) communication networks and other internet-of-things (IoT) and internet-of-vehicles (IoV) technologies

You never surf alone. Ubiquitous tracking of users' browsing habits
In the early age of the internet users enjoyed a large level of anonymity. At
the time web pages were just hypertext documents; almost no personalisation of
the user experience was o ered. The Web today has evolved as a world wide
distributed system following specific architectural paradigms. On the web now,
an enormous quantity of user generated data is shared and consumed by a network
of applications and services, reasoning upon users expressed preferences and
their social and physical connections. Advertising networks follow users'
browsing habits while they surf the web, continuously collecting their traces
and surfing patterns. We analyse how users tracking happens on the web by
measuring their online footprint and estimating how quickly advertising
networks are able to pro le users by their browsing habits
Integration of Patient Health Portals into the German Healthcare Telematics Infrastructure
In this paper we describe a generic model of a patient health portal, which is suitable to implement patient access to the evolving German healthcare telematics infrastructure. The portal uses the telematics as a communication infrastructure to ensure the concise and secure exchange of medical data between professional medical personnel and patients. We aim at providing patients an application platform model for using and enhancing their data by processing or extending them with medical services offered via the internet or with local medical appliances. We show that a) specific functionalities (such as data import/export from/to the telematics) for patient health portals can be derived from the legal foundation in the German law b) the portal is conceptually suited to provide a link between the public health information infrastructure and other (maybe commercial) applications in the e-health environment via Personal Health Records (PHR) and c) patients’ rights can be mapped with a common data model
