Seramai
325 orang pelajar Diploma in Construction Technology dari Kolej Kemahiran Tinggi
Software implementation of a secure firmware update solution in an IoT context
The present paper is concerned with the secure delivery of firmware updates to Internet of Things (IoT) devices. Additionally, it deals with the design of a safe and secure bootloader for a UHF RFID reader. A software implementation of a secure firmware update solution is performed. The results show there is space to integrate even more security features into existing devices
SysMART Indoor Services: A System of Smart and Connected Supermarkets
Smart gadgets are being embedded almost in every aspect of our lives. From
smart cities to smart watches, modern industries are increasingly supporting
the Internet of Things (IoT). SysMART aims at making supermarkets smart,
productive, and with a touch of modern lifestyle. While similar implementations
to improve the shopping experience exists, they tend mainly to replace the
shopping activity at the store with online shopping. Although online shopping
reduces time and effort, it deprives customers from enjoying the experience.
SysMART relies on cutting-edge devices and technology to simplify and reduce
the time required during grocery shopping inside the supermarket. In addition,
the system monitors and maintains perishable products in good condition
suitable for human consumption. SysMART is built using state-of-the-art
technologies that support rapid prototyping and precision data acquisition. The
selected development environment is LabVIEW with its world-class interfacing
libraries. The paper comprises a detailed system description, development
strategy, interface design, software engineering, and a thorough analysis and
evaluation.Comment: 7 pages, 11 figur
Component detection with on-board UHF RFID reader for Industrie 4.0 capable Returnable Transit Items
Industrie 4.0, Cyber-Physical Systems and Smart Manufacturing are all terms used to describe a vision of how intelligent products, processes and services can provide connectivity and real time information based technologies to improve manufacturing. This can be realised by embedding intelligence at the product and operational level to provide predictive, risk preventative and high performing manufacturing systems. The work outlined in this paper details how a Returnable Transit Item (RTI) can become an integral part of the Industrie 4.0 vision as an intelligent container that can interact with components, machines and other manufacturing services
Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) based wireless manufacturing systems, a review
Radio frequency identification (RFID) is one of the most promising technological innovations in order to track and trace products as well as material flow in manufacturing systems. High Frequency (HF) and Ultra High Frequency (UHF) RFID systems can track a wide range of products in the part production process via radio waves with level of accuracy and reliability. As a result, quality and transparency of data across the supply chain can be accurately obtained in order to decrease time and cost of part production. Also, process planning and part production scheduling can be modified using the advanced RFID systems in part manufacturing process. Moreover, to decrease the cost of produced parts, material handling systems in the advanced assembly lines can be analyzed and developed by using the RFID. Smart storage systems can increase efficiency in part production systems by providing accurate information from the stored raw materials and products for the production planning systems. To increase efficiency of energy consumption in production processes, energy management systems can be developed by using the RFID-sensor networks. Therefore, smart factories and intelligent manufacturing systems as industry 4.0 can be introduced by using the developed RFID systems in order to provide new generation of part production systems. In this paper, a review of RFID based wireless manufacturing systems is presented and future research works are also suggested. It has been observed that the research filed can be moved forward by reviewing and analyzing recent achievements in the published papers
RFID-enabled web-based interface for chemical storage management system
The management of a chemical inventory is necessary for safety purposes as well as for fulfilling regulatory compliance. In most academic laboratories, the management of chemicals is still being done manually, which is time-consuming. As a result, data are not updated and expired chemicals are unintentionally used. This research proposes that UHF Class 1 Gen 2 Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) technology be used in the development of a chemical inventory information system to ease chemical tracking as well as to shorten the inventory process time. An information system integrating RFID data and a web-based rule identification interface was developed. WAMP 2.2.17, PHP 5.3.5 and MySQL 5.5.8 were downloaded and a programming language was written to check the expiration date of the chemicals as well as to produce alert notification status. Wireless technology through GSM modem helped in producing alert messages using the Short Message System (SMS) of the nearly expired chemicals to the handphone of the person in charge in real time
Intelligent Packaging Systems: Sensors and Nanosensors to Monitor Food Quality and Safety
Indexación: Web of Science y Scopus. The application of nanotechnology in different areas of food packaging is an emerging field that will grow rapidly in the coming years. Advances in food safety have yielded promising results leading to the development of intelligent packaging (IP). By these containers, it is possible to monitor and provide information of the condition of food, packaging, or the environment. This article describes the role of the different concepts of intelligent packaging. It is possible that this new technology could reach enhancing food safety, improving pathogen detection time, and controlling the quality of food and packaging throughout the supply chain.https://www.hindawi.com/journals/js/2016/4046061/cta
Industrie 4.0 implementations in the automotive industry
To address the challenges imposed by the adoption of new technology to realise the Industrial Internet also known as Industrie 4.0, manufacturing companies are recognising the need to set up and manage “intelligent test factories”. The result is networks of cyber-physical systems (CPS) where software interfaces and services are developed to support interoperability between physical and control structures. A test factory using Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) as a first generation enabler of CPS in industrial production systems is presented in this paper. The research outlined in this paper describes the first generation of CPS that uses identification technologies such as RFID tags embedded into engine components and their carries, which allow unique identification. Data storage, processing and analytics are also provided to support real-time algorithmic intelligent services that may be used in manufacturing operations including supply chain logistics, quality audits and manufacturing strategies
