The usage of antenna is widely developed almost everyday and it has become one of human’s need. In today’s world, the receiving parabolic antenna is almost commonly use in the world including this region. The purpose of this project is to design an Antenna Movement Controller by using stepper motor with PIC as the controller algorithm. The objective is to control maneuver the parabolic antenna with various and elevation angle. As a result, the antenna able to receive the signal that transmit by satellite from various position or direction. The methodology of implementation of this project could be categorized into software development and hardware design. The software development are base on PIC programming as the controller of the stepper motor. The hardware involves three stages which are keypad, PIC16F84A circuit and stepper motor. The operation of this project starting from the keypad enter the angle value. Then, the PIC receive the data to execute the program. The stepper motor maneuver to the desire direction. This project can be applied to the moving vehicle, portable antenna and etc

The Halal Industry is still in the stage of development and empowerment practices. The efforts to conduct the way forward in compliance with Islamic perspective (Shariah Laws) and desirable and necessary along the world. One of the problems facing the global halal industry is the lack of recognition halal certified products are viewed by Muslims as a mark of quality by the different halal certification bodies. With the diverse increasing demand towards halal food throughout the world but the integration of halal practices into supply chain processes in the under lacking coverage. The objective of this paper is to give a basic information in the definition of halal from the Shariah perspective and the researcher’s methodology used in their past research. The references from this desktop working research are allocate from the past research on halal supply chain management. By having the clear definition and methodology, the paper will conclude the easy way for others researcher to get clear understanding about the definition of halal and the other method using in the future studies

    Evolutionary Bits'n'Spikes

    Get PDF
We describe a model and implementation of evolutionary spiking neurons for embedded microcontrollers with few bytes of memory and very low power consumption. The approach is tested with an autonomous microrobot of less than 1 in^3 that evolves the ability to move in a small maze without human intervention and external computers. Considering the very large diffusion, small size, and low cost of embedded microcontrollers, the approach described here could find its way in several intelligent devices with sensors and/or actuators, as well as in smart credit cards

This thesis explores the possibilites of using FITkit as a programmer of Microchip PIC and Atmel AVR microcontrollers. It describes methods of microcontroller programming and procedures that need to be followed to program a microcontroller. It also details the implementation of a FPGA design able to program these microcontrollers and a corresponding application for PC. At last, it evaluates the results, with focus at programming speed.

Computer-aided design of an ergonomic computer mouse

The primary purpose of this thesis is to explain a device which could be used as an alternative for a computer mouse. Instead of using a regular roller found in an ordinary mouse, the device uses a pressure sensitive sensor to control the computer cursor on the monitor. The device is developed mainly for a personal computer with Universal Serial Bus (USB) capability. The computer should have an operating system of Microsoft Windows 98 or newer. The device does not need any additional driver, and it has a USB hot-plug-and-play feature. It uses a Human Interface Device (HID) driver provided by Windows. The device mainly has two buttons (right and left) and is approximately 4 by 3 by 2 in size. Users can press their fingers on to the device to control the cursor. The device will be small enough to be fit inside a person\u27s palm. The area has four pressure sensors used to move the cursor to the left, right, upward and downward. The user can control some parameters, such as cursor movement rate, by just controlling the amount of force pressed on that area. The device will be made from a soft material with a hard box inside. All the necessary components will be placed inside the box. Only the sensors are outside the box, so that the user can control the sensors by squeezing the device. This would make it comfortable for users to operate the device

Development of a Scale Vehicle Dynamics Test Bed

    Get PDF
Research in the area of vehicle dynamics often requires that virtual models be correlated with test data or control systems be implemented within hardware. However, the prohibitive cost associated with a proper testing program has relegated the majority of research in these areas to virtual simulation. The purpose of this research was to develop a low cost vehicle dynamics test bed, which could be used to investigate the full operational range of vehicle handling. A scaled approach, analogous to wind tunnel testing, was used in order to make predictions about a system based on observations obtained from a scale model. The following test bed is unique since it is untethered from the acquisition system allowing for a wider range of test manoeuvres to be used. Results obtained from the test bed verified the usefulness of a scaled approach with good correlation being achieved between linear handling models and test data
