    Start Time and Duration Distribution Estimation in Semi-Structured Processes

    Semi-structured processes are business workflows, where the execution of the workflow is not completely controlled by a workflow engine, i.e., an implementation of a formal workflow model. Examples are workflows where actors potentially have interaction with customers reporting the result of the interaction in a process aware information system. Building a performance model for resource management in these processes is difficult since the required information is only partially recorded. In this paper we propose a systematic approach for the creation of an event log that is suitable for available process mining tools. This event log is created by an incrementally cleansing of data.     Software methodologies for the engineering of service-oriented industrial automation: the continuum project

    Indexado InspecService-orientation represents a new wave of features and solutions by bringing closer Information Technology to the industrial domain, particularly factory shop floors. The service-oriented automation software entities (designated here by bots) used in such approach requires a short set of methodologies and software targeting their specification for both computer systems and embedded automation devices. The present work explains the adopted methodologies and software developments for the engineering of service-based automation systems. The main contents focus on the specification of a framework for the development of bots and supporting engineering tools that are part of the Continuum project. The paper also does an overview over the engineering steps from the system design to the operation, and focuses the importance of the maintenance of automation bots.     Service-oriented SCADA and MES supporting petri nets based orchestrated automation systems

    The fusion of mechatronics, communication, control and information technologies has allowed the introduction of new automation paradigms into the production environment. The virtualization of the production environment facilitated by the application of the service-oriented architecture paradigm is one of major outcomes of that fusion. On one side, service-oriented automation works based on exposition, subscription and use of automation functions represented by e.g. web services. On the other side, the evolution of traditional industrial systems, particularly in the production area, as a response to architectural and behavioural (functional) viewpoints of the ISA95 enterprise architecture, where a close inter-relation between SCADA, DCS and MES systems facilitate the management and control of the production environment. Automation functions are increasingly performed by the composition and orchestration of services. Among other methods, the application of formal Petri net based orchestration approaches is being industrially established.     Implementing deep neural networks in safety critical systems, in particular in the aeronautical domain, will require to offer adequate specification paradigms to preserve the semantics of the trained model on the final hardware platform. We propose to extend the nnef language in order to allow traceable distribution and parallelisation optimizations of a trained model. We show how such a specification can be implemented in cuda on a Xavier platform

    Categorical Foundation for Layer Consistency in AHO-Net Models Supporting Workflow Management in Mobile Ad-Hoc Networks

    In this paper we present a layered architecture for modeling workflows in Mobile Ad-Hoc NETworks (MANETs) using algebraic higher order nets (AHO nets). MANETs are networks of mobile devices that communicate with each other via wireless links without relying on an underlying infrastructure, e.g. in emergency scenarios, where an effective coordination is crucial among team members, each of them equipped with hand-held devices. Workflows in MANETs can be adequately modeled using a layered architecture, where the overall workflow, the team members' activities and the mobility issues are separated into three different layers, namely the workflow layer, the mobility layer and the team layer. Dividing the AHO net model into layers immediately rises the question of consistency. We suggest a formal notion of layer consistency requiring that the team layer is given by the mapping of the individual member's activities to the gluing of the workflow and the mobility layer. The main results concern the maintenance of the layer consistency when changing the workflow layer, the mobility layer and the team layer independently
