    An Adaptive Image Encryption Scheme Guided by Fuzzy Models

    A new image encryption scheme using the advanced encryption standard (AES), a chaotic map, a genetic operator, and a fuzzy inference system is proposed in this paper. In this work, plain images were used as input, and the required security level was achieved. Security criteria were computed after running a proposed encryption process. Then an adaptive fuzzy system decided whether to repeat the encryption process, terminate it, or run the next stage based on the achieved results and user demand. The SHA-512 hash function was employed to increase key sensitivity. Security analysis was conducted to evaluate the security of the proposed scheme, which showed it had high security and all the criteria necessary for a good and efficient encryption algorithm were met. Simulation results and the comparison of similar works showed the proposed encryptor had a pseudo-noise output and was strongly dependent upon the changing key and plain image.Comment: Iranian Journal of Fuzzy Systems (2023

    An audio encryption using transposition method

    Encryption is a technique to secure sounds data from attackers. In this study, transposition technique that corresponds to a WAV file extension is used. The performance of the transposition technique is measured using the mean square error (MSE). In the test, the value of MSE of the original and encrypted audio files were compared; the original and decrypted audio files used the correct password is ‘SEMBILAN’ and the incorrect password is ‘DELAPAN’. The experimental results showed that the original and encrypted audio files, and the original and decrypted audio files used the correct password that has a value of MSE = 0, and with the incorrect one with a value of MSE 0.00000428 or ≠ 0. In other words, the transposition technique is able to ensure the security of audio data files

    Z-Numbers-Based Approach to Hotel Service Quality Assessment

    In this study, we are analyzing the possibility of using Z-numbers for measuring the service quality and decision-making for quality improvement in the hotel industry. Techniques used for these purposes are based on consumer evalu- ations - expectations and perceptions. As a rule, these evaluations are expressed in crisp numbers (Likert scale) or fuzzy estimates. However, descriptions of the respondent opinions based on crisp or fuzzy numbers formalism not in all cases are relevant. The existing methods do not take into account the degree of con- fidence of respondents in their assessments. A fuzzy approach better describes the uncertainties associated with human perceptions and expectations. Linguis- tic values are more acceptable than crisp numbers. To consider the subjective natures of both service quality estimates and confidence degree in them, the two- component Z-numbers Z = (A, B) were used. Z-numbers express more adequately the opinion of consumers. The proposed and computationally efficient approach (Z-SERVQUAL, Z-IPA) allows to determine the quality of services and iden- tify the factors that required improvement and the areas for further development.     Si tuviéramos que elegir un conjunto de palabras clave para definir la sociedad actual, sin duda el término información sería uno de los más representativos. Vivimos en un mundo caracterizado por un continuo flujo de información en el que las Tecnologías de la Información y Comunicación (TIC) y las Redes Sociales desempeñan un papel relevante. En la Sociedad de la Información se generan gran variedad de datos en formato digital, siendo la protección de los mismos frente a accesos y usos no autorizados el objetivo principal de lo que conocemos como Seguridad de la Información. Si bien la Criptología es una herramienta tecnológica básica, dedicada al desarrollo y análisis de sistemas y protocolos que garanticen la seguridad de los datos, el espectro de tecnologías que intervienen en la protección de la información es amplio y abarca diferentes disciplinas. Una de las características de esta ciencia es su rápida y constante evolución, motivada en parte por los continuos avances que se producen en el terreno de la computación, especialmente en las últimas décadas. Sistemas, protocolos y herramientas en general considerados seguros en la actualidad dejarán de serlo en un futuro más o menos cercano, lo que hace imprescindible el desarrollo de nuevas herramientas que garanticen, de forma eficiente, los necesarios niveles de seguridad. La Reunión Española sobre Criptología y Seguridad de la Información (RECSI) es el congreso científico español de referencia en el ámbito de la Criptología y la Seguridad en las TIC, en el que se dan cita periódicamente los principales investigadores españoles y de otras nacionalidades en esta disciplina, con el fin de compartir los resultados más recientes de su investigación.
