The scientific and pedagogical professionals' informational and research competence development with the use of open electronic educational and science systems

Стаття присвячена проблемі розвитку інформаційно-дослідницької компетентності наукових і науково-педагогічних працівників з метою сприяння процесу підвищення якості результатів їх робіт, створенню та використанню відкритих електронних систем для підтримки наукової і освітньої теоретико-методологічної та практичної баз. Уточнено поняття інформаційно-дослідницька компетентність наукових та науково-педагогічних працівників, що визначається як здатність здійснювати з використанням ІКТ пошук, збирання, опрацювання, аналіз та представлення наукових даних відповідно до методології наукового дослідження, комунікацію, співробітництво та навчання інших, вміння використовувати сервіси електронних науково-освітніх систем для інформаційно-аналітичної підтримки науково-педагогічних досліджень, моніторингу та оцінювання наукових результатів, продукування нових суспільно-значущих знань з метою впровадження їх у практику освіти та науки. Висвітлено основний зарубіжний досвід щодо впровадження навчальних програм з інформетрії для розвитку інформаційно-дослідницької компетентності наукових та науково-педагогічних працівників. Визначено вплив відкритих електронних науково-освітніх систем на розвиток інформаційно-дослідницької компетентності науково-педагогічних працівників. З’ясовано, що важливим є виокремлення відкритих електронних науково-освітніх систем, що мають особливий вплив на розвитку цієї компетентності для забезпечення відкритої науки. Серед таких систем особливого значення набувають платформи для створення електронних бібліотек, відкритих електронних конференцій, сервіси для управління науковою бібліографією, моніторингу науково-дослідної діяльності наукових та науково-педагогічних працівників та ін. Визначено, що перспективами дослідження щодо розвитку інформаційно-дослідницької компетентності наукових та науково-педагогічних працівників є розробка для цього процесу методики використання відкритих науково-освітніх систем відповідно до принципів відкритої науки.The article is devoted to the development of scientific and pedagogical professionals' information and research competence with the aim to promote the process of improving the quality of the results their work, to create and use open electronic systems for support scientific, educational theoretical and methodological and practical bases. It can to provide modernization of the national education and science in according with world trends. The concept of scientific and pedagogical professionals' information and research competence is defined in, such as the ability to use ICT for search, compile, analyze and present scientific materials according with the methodology of the scientific research, communication, cooperation and training other educators, to use the services of scientific and educational systems for informational and analytical support of scientific and pedagogical researches, monitoring and evaluation scientific results, to product new socially significant knowledge with the aim to promote the implementation its to their research and education practice. The main foreign experience in implementing educational programs of informometry for the scientific and pedagogical professionals' informational and research competence development is described in the article. The open electronic education and science systems’ impact on the development of scientific and pedagogical professionals' information and research competence is determined in. It is found out, that selection of open electronic scientific and educational systems become important for the development of scientific and pedagogical professionals' information and research competence. The platforms for the electronic libraries creation, open electronic conferences, services for the management of scientific bibliography, monitoring of scientific research activities of scientific and scientific and pedagogical workers, etc., are particular importance for the development of scientific and pedagogical professionals' information and research competence. The development of a methodology for the use open scientific and educational systems in accordance with the open science principles is the prospects for research on the development of scientific and pedagogical professionals' information and research competence

Obtención de documentos de investigación sobre la competitividad de las pequeñas y medianas empresas: un enfoque basado en las redes de autores

This study aims to present a scientometric analysis, based on author’s network maps, to determine the most influential and relevant authors with papers published about the subject Small- and medium-sized enterprises, competitiveness and its measurement, including the use of key performance indicators. Academic research relies on the prospection to retrieve the most relevant research studies and establishing links to authors from key international research groups. To facilitate this study, we used the Scopus and Web of Science databases research results, due to the significant number of indexed scientific articles. The extracted data were compiled and analysed through author’s networks using the statistical software Sci2 Tool, which supports temporal, geospatial, topical, and networks analysis. This study also attempts to point out the research trends and gaps in this area. Results obtained are illustrated by maps of author’s networks that reveal the main authors and research subject groups, thereby enhancing access to information from a scientific approach.Este estudio tiene como objetivo presentar un análisis cientométrico, basado en mapas de redes de autores, para determinar los autores más influyentes y relevantes con trabajos publicados sobre el tema Pequeñas y medianas empresas, la competitividad y su medición, incluido el uso de indicadores clave de rendimiento. La investigación académica se basa en la prospección para recuperar los estudios de investigación más relevantes y establecer vínculos con autores de grupos de investigación internacionales clave. Para facilitar este estudio, utilizamos los resultados de la investigación de las bases de datos Scopus y Web of Science, debido a su número significativo de artículos científicos indexados. Los datos extraídos fueron compilados y analizados a través de redes de autores utilizando el software estadístico Sci2 Tool, que es compatible con el análisis temporal, geoespacial, tópico y de redes. Este estudio también intenta señalar las tendencias de investigación y las brechas en esta área. Los resultados obtenidos se ilustran mediante mapas de redes de autores, que revelan los principales autores y grupos de temas de investigación, mejorando así el acceso a la información de una manera científica

Using ontologies to map between research data and policymakers’ presumptions: the experience of the KNOWMAK project

Understanding knowledge co-creation in key emerging areas of European research is critical for policy makers wishing to analyze impact and make strategic decisions. However, purely data-driven methods for characterising policy topics have limitations relating to the broad nature of such topics and the differences in language and topic structure between the political language and scientific and technological outputs. In this paper, we discuss the use of ontologies and semantic technologies as a means to bridge the linguistic and conceptual gap between policy questions and data sources for characterising European knowledge production. Our experience suggests that the integration between advanced techniques for language processing and expert assessment at critical junctures in the process is key for the success of this endeavour

Визначено вплив відкритих електронних науково-освітніх систем на розвиток інформаційно-дослідницької компетентності науково-педагогічних працівників. З’ясовано, що важливим є виокремлення відкритих електронних науково-освітніх систем, що мають особливий вплив на розвитку цієї компетентності для забезпечення відкритої науки. Серед таких систем особливого значення набувають платформи для створення електронних бібліотек, відкритих електронних конференцій, сервіси для управління науковою бібліографією, моніторингу науково-дослідної діяльності наукових та науково-педагогічних працівників та ін. Analyzing Funding Patterns and Their Evolution in Two Medical Research Topics

[EN] This paper analyzes funding patterns and their evolution in two medical research topics: breast cancer and ovarian cancer, taking into account cross-agency and cross- national co-funding. A bibliometric analysis of 355 463 papers from PubMed (273 526 on breast cancer and 81 937 on ovarian cancer) brought back 91 funding agencies involved in breast cancer and 65 in ovarian cancer. Additionally, the paper examined the evolution of medical subject headings ( MESH) funded by agencies. An analysis of patterns in funding, co-funding, MESH, and their evolution, was carried out using social network analysis (SNA) methodology. The results show the importance of the National Cancer Institute (NCI) in both breast and ovarian cancer. The NCI achieves its policy goals by co-funding its programs with both national and cross- national agencies. Moreover, the MESH agencies co-funded in the two years studied coincided; however, it must be said that the number of agencies which participated in research funding also increased.De-Miguel-Molina, B.; Cunningham, SW.; Palop Marro, FR. Corporate social responsibility and marketing: A bibliometric and visualization analysis of the literature between the Years 1994 and 2020

Several studies explored the effect of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) on marketing. However, bibliometric research that organizes this production is scarce. Thus, this study aims to provide a bibliometric view of marketing-related CSR research, identifying this field’s state-of-the-art literature. Two thousand and forty-two articles were collected through the Web of Science (WoS) platform. Data were analyzed using VOSviewer software to map the data graphically. The results show that: (a) the literature on CSR in the marketing area is growing; (b) five articles alone accounted for 9940 citations, and there are several prolific authors; (c) the prominent journals identified in this research published 42.16% of the total; (d) The “Journal of Business Ethics” is the leader in the number of publications, followed by “Sustainability,” which has shown strong growth in recent years, and; (e) The US is the leading country, according to the number of articles and citations. The keyword trending network analysis revealed that CSR is becoming a strategic marketing approach for companies. Using Social Media Websites to Support Scenario-Based Design of Assistive Technology

Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis (IUPUI)Having representative users, who have the targeted disability, in accessibility studies is vital to the validity of research findings. Although it is a widely accepted tenet in the HCI community, many barriers and difficulties make it very resource-demanding for accessibility researchers to recruit representative users. As a result, researchers recruit non-representative users, who do not have the targeted disability, instead of representative users in accessibility studies. Although such an approach has been widely justified, evidence showed that findings derived from non-representative users could be biased and even misleading. To address this problem, researchers have come up with different solutions such as building pools of users to recruit from. But still, the data is not widely available and needs a lot of effort and resource to build and maintain. On the other hand, online social media websites have become popular in the last decade. Many online communities have emerged that allow online users to discuss health-related subjects, exchange useful information, or provide emotional support. A large amount of data accumulated in such online communities have gained attention from researchers in the healthcare domain. And many researches have been done based on data from social media websites to better understand health problems to improve the wellbeing of people. Despite the increasing popularity, the value of data from social media websites for accessibility research remains untapped. Hence, my work aims to create methods that could extract valuable information from data collected on social media websites for accessibility practitioners to support their design process. First, I investigate methods that enable researchers to effectively collect representative data from social media websites. More specifically, I look into machine learning approaches that could allow researchers to automatically identify online users who have disabilities (representative users). Second, I investigate methods that could extract useful information from user-generated free-text using techniques drawn from the information extraction domain. Last, I explore how such information should be visualized and presented for designers to support the scenario-based design process in accessibility studies
