The important aspect of the career chosen has been divided into three, first is information about career, type of career and factor that most influence students in choosing a career. The study was conducted at Sekolah Menengah Teknik Kajang, Selangor Darul Ehsan. Thirty six form four students was chosen by using non-random sampling purpose method as respondent. All information was gather by using questionnaire. Data collected has been analyzed in form of frequency, percentage and mean. Results are performed in table and graph. The finding show that information about career have been improved in students career chosen and mass media is the main factor influencing students in choosing their career

The Internet of Medical Things (IoMT) is the networking of health things or equipment that communicate data over the internet without the need for human involvement in the healthcare field. A large quantity of data is collected from numerous sensors in the health field, and it is all transferred and stored on the cloud. This data is growing bigger here all time, and it's becoming increasingly challenging to secure it on the cloud with real-time storage and computing. Data security problem can be addressed with the aid of machine algorithms and fog computing. For data security in IoMT gadgets correspondence in an intelligent fashion, an intelligent encryption algorithm (IEA) is proposed using blockchain technology in cloud based system framework (CBSF). It is applied on patient’s database to provide immutable security, tampering prevention and transaction transparency at the fog layer in IoMT.  The suggested expert system's results indicate that it is suitable for use in for the security. In the fog model, the blockchain technology approach also helps to address latency, centralization, and scalability difficulties

Advanced intelligent control and optimization for cardiac pacemaker systems

Since cardiovascular diseases are major causes of morbidity and mortality in the developed countries and the number one cause of death in the United States, their accurate diagnosis and effective treatment via advanced cardiac pacemaker systems have become very important. Intelligent control and optimization of the pacemakers are significant research subjects. Serious but infrequently occurring arrhythmias are difficult to diagnose. The use of electrocardiogram (ECG) waveform only cannot exactly distinguish between deadly abnormalities and temporary arrhythmias. Thus, this work develops a new method based on frequency entrainment to analyze pole-zero characteristics of the phase error between abnormal ECG and entrained Yanagihara, Noma, and Irisawa (YNI)-response. The thresholds of poles and zeros to diagnose deadly bradycardia and tachycardia are derived, respectively, for the first time. For bradycardia under different states, a fuzzy proportional-integral-derivative (FPID) controller for dual- sensor cardiac pacemaker systems is designed. It can automatically control the heart rate to accurately track a desired preset profile. Through comparing with the conventional algorithm, FPID provides a more suitable control strategy for offering better adaptation of the heart rate, in order to fulfill the patient\u27s physiological needs. This novel control method improves the robustness and performance of a pacemaker system significantly. Higher delivered energy for stimulation may cause higher energy consumption in pacemakers and accelerated battery depletion. Hence, this work designs an optimal single-pulse stimulus to treat sudden cardiac arrest, while minimizing the pulse amplitude and releasing stimulus pain. Moreover, it derives the minimum pulse amplitude for successful entrainment. The simulation results confirm that the optimal single-pulse is effective to induce rapid response of sudden cardiac arrest for heartbeat recovery, while a significant reduction in the delivered energy is achieved. The study will be helpful for not only better diagnosis and treatment of cardiovascular diseases but also improving the performance of pacemaker systems

The Development of an Empirical Model for Estimation of the Sensitivity to Heat Stress in the Outdoor Workers at Risk

Background: Workers who work in hot environments may be at risk for heat stress. Exposure to heat can result in occupational illnesses, including heat stroke, heat cramps, and heat exhaustion. The risk of exposure to heat depends on individual, environmental, and occupational risk factors. Individual risk factors may decrease the individual’s tolerance to heat stress. Sensitivity as an intrinsic factor may predispose a person to heat stress. Aim: This study was aimed to determine the criteria for sensitivity parameter, specify their weights using the fuzzy Delphi-analytical hierarchy, and finally providing a model to estimate sensitivity. The significant of the study is presenting a model to estimate the sensitivity to heat stress. Materials and Methods: The expert’s opinions were used to extract the criteria in Delphi method. After determining the weight of each criterion, Fuzzy analytic hierarchy Process (FAHP), by mathematical principles matrix and triangular fuzzy numbers, was applied for the prioritization of criteria. Results: According to experts’ viewpoints and considering some exclusion, 10 of 36 criteria were selected. Among 10 selected criteria, age had the highest percentage of responses (90% (27/30)) and its relative weight was 0.063. After age, the highest percentages of response were assigned to the factors of preexisting disease (66.6% (20/30)), body mass index (56.6% (17/30)), work experience (53.3% (16/30)), and clothing (40% (16/30)), respectively. Other effective criteria on sensitivity were metabolic rate, daily water consumption, smoking habits, drugs that interfere with the thermoregulatory processes, and exposure to other harmful agents. Conclusions: Eventually, based on the criteria, a model for estimation of the workers’ sensitivity to heat stress was presented for the first time, by which the sensitivity is estimated in percent. Keywords: Heat stress, Sensitivity, Personal factors, Fuzzy AH

Linear discriminant analysis and principal component analysis to predict coronary artery disease

    Get PDF
Coronary artery disease is one of the most prevalent chronic pathologies in the modern world, leading to the deaths of thousands of people, both in the United States and in Europe. This article reports the use of data mining techniques to analyse a population of 10,265 people who were evaluated by the Department of Advanced Biomedical Sciences for myocardial ischaemia. Overall, 22 features are extracted, and linear discriminant analysis is implemented twice through both the Knime analytics platform and R statistical programming language to classify patients as either normal or pathological. The former of these analyses includes only classification, while the latter method includes principal component analysis before classification to create new features. The classification accuracies obtained for these methods were 84.5 and 86.0 per cent, respectively, with a specificity over 97 per cent and a sensitivity between 62 and 66 per cent. This article presents a practical implementation of traditional data mining techniques that can be used to help clinicians in decision-making; moreover, principal component analysis is used as an algorithm for feature reduction
