Rozpoznawanie w przekładzie. O literaturze polskiej w Chorwacji
Sploty tradycji : dwugłosy o literaturze polskiej XX wieku
The book consists of five “dialogues” devoted to selected aspects of works by
Władysław Broniewski, Władysław Sebyła, Miron Białoszewski, Zbigniew Herbert
and Jacek Podsiadło. The title “entanglements” connect particular “voices”
within multithematic dialogues with literary and cultural heritage. Once, the basis
of this “entanglement” turns out to be some ideological or theological nuance,
some other time, a romantic context, melancholic sense of enstrangement, mournful
despair or oikological meditation. The whole volume has been preceded
by an introduction, in which the meaning of a seemingly forgotten theoretical
concept — tradition — has been given much consideration
'To Make the Enemy Immortal by the Sheer Play on Words' – on Julian Tuwim’s Pamphlets
The article presents both the formal aspects of the poetics of Tuwim’s pamphlets (enumeration, hyperbole, grotesque, irony) and the figures of those who are the targets of his satirical addresses. Tuwim used verse satires to create polemical and ironic portraits of individual people (the main figure being a nationalist journalist and literary critic Stanisław Pieńkowski) as well as to ridicule state institutions, ideologies and political parties. The author also analyses pamphlet-like lyrical poems, columns and literary criticism by Julian Tuwim. In conclusion the author describes some elements of the cultural milieu which the poet refers to in his satirical writing (popular culture and the media, totalitarian ideologies, mass-society).Zadanie „Stworzenie anglojęzycznych wersji wydawanych publikacji” finansowane w ramach umowy nr 948/P-DUN/2016 ze środków Ministra Nauki i Szkolnictwa Wyższego przeznaczonych na działalność upowszechniającą naukę
W cudzysłowie : o literaturze polskiej XX i XXI wieku
The book consists of twelve interpretative essays which relate
the author’s close encounters with the Polish literature of the
20th and 21st century. The publication opens with a micrological
look into the poetry of Bolesław Leśmian as a story of the simultaneous
power and misery of life, which by being embodied in
an infinite number of forms ensures permanence of existence to
none of these forms. The subsequent essay is a reading, guided
by poetics, of the ideological poems of Władysław Broniewski,
whose layer of content admittedly lost their appeal but they
continue to enchant the reader with their masterly form which
conceals both the mystery of their contemporary success with
the readers as well as the reason for the present interest of the
researchers in these poems. In the text that follows the author
suggests a shared reading of a Władysław Sebyła poem which
begins with *** [„Jesteśmy gnojem, mój bracie...”] (*** [“We are
the muck, my brother…”]), here treated as a subtle counterpoint
to the dark tone of the entire oeuvre of the author of the Koncert
egotyczny (An egotistical concert). A return to the micrological
perspective is featured in the article devoted to the works of
Anna Kamieńska, in which the poet demonstrates a particular
sensibility to small everyday things as a source of the answers
to the questions about the sense of the existence of the world, of man and of God. The two subsequent chapters of the book
are devoted to the works of Miron Białoszewski as a poet of
transgression who consistently observes and deconstructs all
patterns that he encounters. The protagonist of the two texts
which follow is Wisława Szymborska as the author of the poem
entitled Mikrokosmos (Microcosmos), which is one of the instances
of proof, presented in the book, that she is fond of the world of
micromatter and that she is a precursor of posthumanist thought
in the context of Polish modern poetry. The final text which
refers to poetry is an analysis of the volume by Ewa Lipska entitled
Drugi zbiór wierszy (Second collection of poems), in which ironic
notes resonate against the background of bitter diagnoses of
modernity, enabling the reader to maintain distance toward the
existential pitfalls which endanger both the individual and the
community. The problems of the three final chapters, devoted
to the accomplishments of Ryszard Kapuściński, Jacek Dehnel
and Halszka Opfer in the field of prose, oscillate around the category
of truth and fiction associated with the problem of the relation
about the present time and the past time, the testimony of
memory or the horizon of readerly expectations toward the text
Wojciech Stanisław Chrościński (ok. 1660-po 1733) — człowiek i dzieło
The article discusses the figure and the work of the poet from the Saxon times in Poland. The first part of the article presents some essential biographical data and his most important literary achievements – from his debut poem Trąba wiekopomnej sławy..., through the translations of the Latin works of Ovid and Lucan, to poems written in the Polish language, such as Biblical poems and other cycles of poems. The other part of the article includes a discussion on the history of the reception of Chrościński’s works and the opinions on his literary output given by literary critics and contemporary historians of literature. Diverse and not equivocal opinions emerge – from decidedly favourable to those more restrained and even critical. However, the popularity of the poems written by Chrościński in the seventeenth and the eighteenth centuries is remarkable. This popularity wanes in the course of time and slowly but steadily he becomes an unknown author, rarely recalled and selectively cited. The varied and divergent attitudes of historians of literature make us fully accept the following opinion given by Brückner: “Chrościński highly deserves a closer study of his literary output”. Accordingly, the latter postulate is an invitation to a thorough and deepened investigation of the works of the poet

Zakład Historii Literatury Baroku i Dawnej Książki - spojrzenie wstecz
Czwarty zeszyt Sarmackiego theatrum, wydawnictwo Zakładu Historii Literatury
Baroku i Dawnej Książki, oddajemy do druku w roku czterdziestolecia Uniwersytetu
roku w wyniku połączenia WSP i Filii Uniwersytetu Jagiellońskiego.
