Antecedents of Behavioral Intention to Use Mobile Telecommunication Services: Effects of Corporate Social Responsibility and Technology Acceptance

The concepts of corporate social responsibility (CSR) and user experience have been identified as core determinants of the success of service providers. Accordingly, practitioners and researchers have investigated the effects of service providers’ CSR and user experience on behavioral intention to use a particular service. Based on the importance of these concepts, the current study integrates subjective dimensions of CSR with the technology acceptance model (TAM) to explore whether the CSR efforts of mobile telecommunication services providers and the service acceptance of their customers have significant effects on behavioral intention to use a service. We apply structural equation modeling and find that two factors from the TAM (i.e., usefulness and ease of use) as well as economic, social, and environmental responsibility are significantly related to customer attitude and satisfaction. Moreover, our results show that there are significantly positive relationships between customer attitude and behavioral intention to use a service, as well as between customer satisfaction and intention. Practical and theoretical implications along with notable limitations of the current study are presented

Specificity of communication with devices and applications via touch or peripherals indicates that user interaction and its enjoyment plays an important role in their acceptance. Consequently the study validates interaction’s enjoyment as a set of variables, influence on technology acceptance with proposed model explaining employees’ intention where m-learning use for competences development was chosen as a reference technology. A structural equation modelling approach was used to validate the model on the basis of data collected via a survey from 728 employees from 24 sectors, both public and private. Study results proved that inclusion of interactive enjoyment perspective in technology acceptance models allows to better explain the intention to use a particular technology. Particularly variables such as: user autonomy, system interactivity, system accessibility and system satisfaction occurred to be significant factors influencing m-learning acceptance by employees for knowledge transfer

Mobile application user behavior in the developing countries : a survey in Iran

Mobile applications are increasingly presented by service providers to fulfill the users’ tendency for mobility and access to services from anywhere and anytime; thereby, service platforms and a long range of tasks from banking to gaming are enabled by this technology. Although different companies offer a growing number of mobile services for potential users, only a few of them become popular and are perceived to be useful from the users’ viewpoint. The purpose of this research is to investigate the factors, which directly or indirectly influence mobile applications’ adoption by users. In other words, this study investigates the decision making process of users considering different factors such as subjective norms, attitude, perception and quality. Employing analytical approach in the literature review led to the development of a comprehensive model covering influential factors from different theories such as TPB and TAM as well as system quality, information and service quality approach. Incidentally, 39 hypotheses were developed and classified into nine different groups based on the originated theories. The model and hypotheses were tested by a sample of 1348 potential mobile application users in Iran and the data were analyzed through structural equation modeling techniques. Different internal and external variables were investigated, among which the effect of satisfaction on intention to recommend, the trace of trust on subjective norms and the influence of perceived ease of use on perceived behavioral control were more potent. In addition to offering a few suggestions for mobile application providers and marketers, this research proposes an integrated model of influential variables from different perspectives for scholars

학위논문 (석사)-- 서울대학교 대학원 : 협동과정 기술경영·경제·정책전공, 2016. 8. 황준석.Since the previous third-generation (3G) technology for broadband networks, fourth-generation (4G) broadband technology has been globally adopted with LTE as the accepted standard. While the rate of adoption of 4G broadband has been high, Indonesia, a developing country, commenced implementation of the technology at the end of 2014. There are a number of benefits entailed by the adoption of 4G broadband, such as reducing the digital divide, supporting mobile leapfrogging for rural areas in Indonesia, and emphasizing the urgency of the development of the broadband network throughout the country. The emergence of 4G LTE could be the solution to achieve these goals by providing network availability throughout the archipelagos of Indonesia and to realize the long-term Indonesian Broadband Plan for 2019. To increase the growth of this technology, both providers and the government need to boost the acceptance of 4G LTE to achieve maturation. To this end, this study attempts to understand the determinants of acceptance of 4G LTE broadband services for Indonesian mobile users. A survey was conducted with members of the Indonesian population from different regions. An analysis was conducted by structural equation modeling with the control variables of age, gender, region, experience on 3G, and usage pattern, which acted as moderators affecting the weight of significance influence on behavioral intention from the main variables adopted with the base theory of UTAUT, in addition with a contract- based pricing scheme and trialability. The results show that performance expectancy, effort expectancy, social influence, contract- based pricing scheme, and trialability yielded positive significant results regarding behavioral intention, and the facilitating condition did not have a significance influence. Different control variables of age and experience on 3G as moderators also showed significant discrepancies among relationships of the main variables to behavioral intention. Lastly, the usage intention demonstrated a positive notable effect on actual usage. The results proved that the importance of comparable benefit from the service with importance of education should exist with the utilization of social channels. Building 4G services as a multi-sided platform with offerings including trialability and ensuring the success of a contract-based pricing scheme are suggested as ways to increase the usage of 4G services in Indonesia, targeting young and highly experienced 3G users as early adopters.CHAPTER 1. Modeling the user acceptance of long-term evolution (LTE) services

With an integrated framework, this paper aims to analyze user perception and acceptance toward long-term evolution (LTE) services, focusing on factors that may influence the intention to use. We conducted a web-based survey of 1,192 users to test our research model. We employed structural equation modeling (SEM) as the analysis method. The results of the integrated model analysis indicate that system satisfaction is a core determinant of intention to use LTE services. The model also found that other factors, including perceived usefulness and system and service quality, significantly affect intention to use these services. In addition, both perceived adaptivity and processing speed significantly influence perceived usefulness and service quality, respectively. These factors also play key roles in determining users’ attitudes. This paper is of value to researchers and engineers designing and improving LTE services for use via mobile phones
