    Get PDF
We present a method for decision making by using induced aggregation operators. This method is very useful for business decision making problems such as product management, investment selection and strategic management. We introduce a new aggregation operator that uses the induced ordered weighted averaging (IOWA) operator and the weighted average in the adequacy coefficient. We callit the induced ordered weighted averaging weighted averaging adequacy coefficient (IOWAWAAC) operator. The main advantage is that it is able to deal with complex attitudinal characters in the aggregation process. Thus, we are able to give a better representation of the problem considering the complex environment that affects the decisions. Moreover, it is able to provide a unified framework between the OWA and the weighted average. We generalize it by using generalized aggregation operators, obtaining the induced generalized OWAWAAC (IGOWAWAAC) operator . We study some of the main properties of this approach. We end the paper with a numerical example of the new approach in a group decision making problem in strategic managemen

Support-Neutrosophic Set: A New Concept in Soft Computing

    Get PDF
Today, soft computing is a field that is used a lot in solving real-world problems, such as problems in economics, finance, banking... With the aim to serve for solving the real problem, many new theories and/or tools which were proposed, improved to help soft computing used more efficiently. We can mention some theories as fuzzy sets theory (L. Zadeh, 1965), intuitionistic fuzzy set (K Atanasov, 1986), neutrosophic set (F. Smarandache 1999). In this paper, we introduce a new notion of sup port-neutrosophic set (SNS), which is the combination a neutrosophic set with a fuzzy set. So, SNS set is a direct extension of fuzzy set and neutrosophic sets (F. Smarandache). Then, we define some operators on the support-neutrosophic sets, and investigate some properties of these operators

An approach to multiple attribute decision making based on the induced Choquet integral with fuzzy number intuitionistic fuzzy information

In this paper, we investigate the multiple attribute decision making problems with fuzzy number intuitionistic fuzzy information. Firstly, some operational laws of fuzzy number intuitionistic fuzzy values, score function and accuracy function of fuzzy number intuitionistic fuzzy values are introduced. Then, we have developed two fuzzy number intuitionistic fuzzy Choquet integral aggregation operators: induced fuzzy number intuitionistic fuzzy choquet ordered averaging (IFNIFCOA) operator and induced fuzzy number intuitionistic fuzzy choquet ordered geometric (IFNIFCOG) operator. The prominent characteristic of the operators is that they can not only consider the importance of the elements or their ordered positions, but also reflect the correlation among the elements or their ordered positions. We have studied some desirable properties of the IFNIFCOA and IFNIFCOG operators, such as commutativity, idempotency and monotonicity, and applied the IFNIFCOA and IFNIFCOGM operators to multiple attribute decision making with fuzzy number intuitionistic fuzzy information. Finally an illustrative example has been given to show the developed method

Aggregation operators in group decision making: Identifying citation classics via H-classics

    Get PDF
To analyze the past, present and future of a particular research field, classic papers are usually studied because they identify the highly cited papers being a relevant reference point in that specific research area. As a result of the possible mapping between high quality research and high citation counts, highly cited papers are very interesting. The objective of this study is to use the H-classics method, which is based on the popular h-index, to identify and analyze the highly cited documents published about aggregation operators in the research area of group decision making. According to the H-classics method, this research area is represented by 87 citation classics, which have been published from 1988 to 2014. Authors, affiliations (universities/institutions and countries), journals, books and conferences, and the topics covered by these 87 highly cited papers are studied. The authors would like to thank FEDER financial support from the Projects TIN2013-40658-P and TIN2016- 75850-P

A hesitant fuzzy SMART method based on a new score function for information literacy assessment of teachers

As two powerful and flexible tools for decision-makers (DMs) to model the complex cognition, the hesitant fuzzy set (HFS) and hesitant fuzzy linguistic term set (HFLTS) allow DMs to express their opinions with several possible membership values or linguistic terms on the objects over each criterion. The aim of this article is to develop a novel score function of the HFS and HFLTS including hesitant degree and fuzzy degree information. For this purpose, the notion of fuzzy degree of the hesitant fuzzy element (HFE) and hesitant fuzzy linguistic element (HFLE) is introduced first. Then, considering both the hesitant degree and fuzzy degree information in expressions, the new score function, namely the Score-H&FD, is designed. Based on which, we extend the classical SMART (simple multi-attribute rating technique) method to the hesitant fuzzy environment. As a result, the hesitant fuzzy SMART (HF-SMART) method is developed in this article. Afterwards, we apply our proposed approach to assess and rank several teachers concerning information literacy. Finally, sensitive analysis and comparative analysis are carried out. The results show that the proposed method in this article has substantial advantages and applicability

Multiattribute Decision Making Based on Entropy under Interval-Valued Intuitionistic Fuzzy Environment

Multiattribute decision making (MADM) is one of the central problems in artificial intelligence, specifically in management fields. In most cases, this problem arises from uncertainty both in the data derived from the decision maker and the actions performed in the environment. Fuzzy set and high-order fuzzy sets were proven to be effective approaches in solving decision-making problems with uncertainty. Therefore, in this paper, we investigate the MADM problem with completely unknown attribute weights in the framework of interval-valued intuitionistic fuzzy (IVIF) set (IVIFS). We first propose a new definition of IVIF entropy and some calculation methods for IVIF entropy. Furthermore, we propose an entropy-based decision-making method to solve IVIF MADM problems with completely unknown attribute weights. Particular emphasis is put on assessing the attribute weights based on IVIF entropy. Instead of the traditional methods, which use divergence among attributes or the probabilistic discrimination of attributes to obtain attribute weights, we utilize the IVIF entropy to assess the attribute weights based on the credibility of the decisionmaking matrix for solving the problem. Finally, a supplier selection example is given to demonstrate the feasibility and validity of the proposed MADM method

A Method to Determine Generalized Basic Probability Assignment in the Open World

    Get PDF
Dempster-Shafer evidence theory (D-S theory) has been widely used in many information fusion systems since it was proposed by Dempster and extended by Shafer. However, how to determine the basic probability assignment (BPA), which is the main and first step in D-S theory, is still an open issue, especially when the given environment is in an open world, which means the frame of discernment is incomplete. In this paper, a method to determine generalized basic probability assignment in an open world is proposed. Frame of discernment in an open world is established first, and then the triangular fuzzy number models to identify target in the proposed frame of discernment are established. Pessimistic strategy based on the differentiation degree between model and sample is defined to yield the BPAs for known targets. If the sum of all the BPAs of known targets is over one, then they will be normalized and the BPA of unknown target is assigned to 0; otherwise the BPA of unknown target is equal to 1 minus the sum of all the known targets BPAs. IRIS classification examples illustrated the effectiveness of the proposed method

Intuitionistic fuzzy generalized probabilistic ordered weighted averaging operator and its application to group decision making

In this paper, we present the intuitionistic fuzzy generalized probabilistic ordered weighted averaging (IFGPOWA) operator. It is a new aggregation operator that uses generalized means in a unified model between the probability and the OWA operator. The main advantage of this new operator is that it is able to deal with probabilities (objective information) and ordered weighted averages (subjective information) in the same formulation. Moreover, it is also able to deal with uncertain environments that can be assessed with intuitionistic fuzzy numbers. Furthermore, it uses generalized means providing a very general formulation that includes a wide range of situations. We study some of its main properties and particular cases such as the generalized intuitionistic fuzzy ordered weighted averaging (GIFOWA) operator and intuitionistic fuzzy probabilistic ordered weighted averaging (IFPOWA) operator. We end the paper by applying the new operator to a group decision making problem concerning the selection of investments. First published online: 26 Jun 201

Continuous intuitionistic fuzzy ordered weighted distance measure and its application to group decision making

    Get PDF
The aim of this paper is to develop the continuous intuitionistic fuzzy ordered weighted distance (C-IFOWD) measure by using the continuous intuitionistic fuzzy ordered weighted averaging (C-IFOWA) operator in the interval distance. We investigate some desirable properties and different families of the C-IFOWD measure. We also generalize the C-IFOWD measure. The prominent characteristics of the C-IFOWD measure are that it is not only a generalization of some widely used distance measure, but also it can deal with interval deviations in aggregation on interval-valued intuitionistic fuzzy values (IVIFVs) by using a controlled parameter, which can decrease the uncertainty of argument and improve the accuracy of decision. The desirable characteristics make the C-IFOWD measure suitable to wide range situations, such as decision making, engineering and investment, etc. In the end, we introduce a new approach to group decision making with IVIFVs in human resource management. Zadeh's fuzzy set theory incorporates the impreciseness of data and evaluations, by imputting the degrees by which each object belongs to a set. Its success fostered theories that codify the subjectivity, uncertainty, imprecision, or roughness of the evaluations. Their rationale is to produce new flexible methodologies in order to model a variety of concrete decision problems more realistically. This Special Issue garners contributions addressing novel tools, techniques and methodologies for decision making (inclusive of both individual and group, single- or multi-criteria decision making) in the context of these theories. It contains 38 research articles that contribute to a variety of setups that combine fuzziness, hesitancy, roughness, covering sets, and linguistic approaches. Their ranges vary from fundamental or technical to applied approaches
