A Visual Language for Keyboardless Programming

    Get PDF
A visual language Show and Tell is introduced as a programming language for home information systems, integrating the computer capabilities of managing computation, communications, and database. It is shown that keyboardless programming is possible with Show and Tell. The language is implemented on the Apple Macintosh personal computer. The semantic model of the language is based on the concepts of dataflow and completion. A Show and Tell program is a partially ordered set of nested boxes and arrows. Traditional programming constructs such as subroutine, iteration, record structure recursion, exception, concurrency and so forth, are represented by two-dimensional graphical structures of boxes and arrows. The design philosophy, conceptual model, syntax, and semantics of major language constructs are described. Various research problems in the visual programming area are discussed

University of Missouri-Columbia 2010.Most of the nursing homes in the United States do not have clinical information systems at their facility due to which elderly people who reside in the facilities are not reaping the benefits that these systems are thought to have. Some Nursing homes that do have clinical information systems deployed are not primarily designed to support nursing care coordination. The purpose of this study is to explore the emerging need for Nursing Home Information Systems (NHIS) in long term care facilities and the promise they hold for increased efficiency, better accuracy, reduced cost, and improved outcomes. This study reports a pilot research done in development of a home-grown, web based, nursing home electronic health record (EHR) system for Aging in Place - TigerPlace; an independent housing with services facility, licensed assisted living facility, located in Columbia, Missouri. With Internet becoming an important topic in health care industry due to its capability for increased accessibility to information, a web based information system proves more beneficial to organizations. The emergence of World Wide Web technology constitutes one significant milestone on the road to efficient developments and deployment of clinically useful systems (Kittredge et al., 1996). Considering these benefits of web technology, this study first analyzes differences between traditional stand alone clinical systems and web based clinical systems. Further study concentrates on the need for TigerPlace facility to develop and implement a web based clinical information system, the process adopted towards developing the required system, its implementation and use at the facility, success of the system, and future enhancement possibilities for the system.Includes bibliographical references (p. 37-40)

Sistem Informasi Penjualan Peralatan Medis Pada Apotek Rakan Medikal Berbasis Web

    Get PDF

OMUS : an optimized multimedia service for the home environment

    Get PDF
Media content in home environments is often scattered across multiple devices in the home network. As both the available multimedia devices in the home (e.g., smartphones, tablets, laptops, game consoles, etc.) and the available content (video and audio) is increasing, interconnecting desired content with available devices is becoming harder and home users are experiencing difficulties in selecting interesting content for their current context. In this paper, we start with an analysis of the home environment by means of a user study. Information handling problems are identified and requirements for a home information system formulated. To meet these requirements we propose the OMUS home information system which includes an optimized content aggregation framework, a hybrid group-based contextual recommender system, and an overall web-based user interface making both content and recommendations available for all devices across the home network. For the group recommendations we introduced distinct weights for each user and showed that by varying the weights, the coverage (i.e., items that can be returned by the recommender) considerably increases. Also the addition of genre filter functionality was proven to further boost the coverage. The OMUS system was evaluated by means of focus groups and by qualitative and quantitative performance assessment of individual parts of the system. The modularity of internal components and limited imposed hardware requirements implies flexibility as to how the OMUS system can be deployed (ranging from e.g., embedded in hardware devices or more software services based)

The Development of Information System for Mental Health Nursing Interventions: A Literature Review

    Get PDF
Background: Technology is used for not only the development of the health industry but also the advancement of health services, especially in mental health nursing. The current service of mental health nursing needs quick and accurate actions and security of documentation. An information system is a form of technology which can provide a solution to improve the quality of mental health nursing services. Objectives: This paper aims to review some information system or application that was used in mental health and describe information systems associated with the patients’ ability in performing self-care also the outcomes of services. Methods: This study is a literature review which collected its data from journal articles published from 2000 to 2019, with keywords: mental health, information technology, and mobile application. The articleswereretrievedfromtheelectronicdatabasesofGoogleScholar,PubMed,Wiley Online Library, and Science Direct. Seven articles were included in this review. The theme of this study is the information system in mental health nursing interventions. Results: The results of the analysis show that technological development is applied in the information system of patient monitoring and independent actions in caring for symptoms of mental health disorders to increase the quality of mental health. Conclusions: The implementation of information technology on the documentation of mental health nursing service has not been extensively developed in hospitals
