Consensus-based control for a network of diffusion PDEs with boundary local interaction
In this paper the problem of driving the state of a network of identical
agents, modeled by boundary-controlled heat equations, towards a common
steady-state profile is addressed. Decentralized consensus protocols are
proposed to address two distinct problems. The first problem is that of
steering the states of all agents towards the same constant steady-state
profile which corresponds to the spatial average of the agents initial
condition. A linear local interaction rule addressing this requirement is
given. The second problem deals with the case where the controlled boundaries
of the agents dynamics are corrupted by additive persistent disturbances. To
achieve synchronization between agents, while completely rejecting the effect
of the boundary disturbances, a nonlinear sliding-mode based consensus protocol
is proposed. Performance of the proposed local interaction rules are analyzed
by applying a Lyapunov-based approach. Simulation results are presented to
support the effectiveness of the proposed algorithms
Consensus Control for a Class of Linear Multiagent Systems using a Distributed Integral Sliding Mode Strategy
In this paper, a consensus framework is proposed for a class of linear multiagent systems subject to matched and unmatched uncertainties in an undirected topology. A linear coordinate transformation is derived so that the consensus protocol design can be conveniently performed. The distributed consensus protocol is developed by using an integral sliding mode strategy. Consensus is achieved asymptotically and all subsystem states are bounded. By using an integral sliding mode control, the subsystems lie on the sliding surface from the initial time, which avoids any sensitivity to uncertainties during the reaching phase. By use of an appropriate projection matrix, the size of the equivalent control required to maintain sliding is reduced which reduces the conservatism of the design. MATLAB simulations validate the effectiveness and superiority of the proposed method
Leader-following Consensus Control of a Distributed Linear Multi-agent System using a Sliding Mode Strategy
A distributed leader-following consensus control framework is proposed for a linear system. The linear system is first transformed into a regular form. Then a linear sliding mode is designed to provide high robustness, and the corresponding consensus protocol is proposed in a fully distributed fashion. When matched disturbances are present, it can be demonstrated that the system states reach the sliding mode in finite time and consensus can be achieved asymptotically using Lyapunov theory and the invariant set theorem. Simulation results validate the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm
Decentralized Output Sliding-Mode Fault-Tolerant Control for Heterogeneous Multiagent Systems
This paper proposes a novel decentralized output sliding-mode fault-tolerant control (FTC) design for heterogeneous multiagent systems (MASs) with matched disturbances, unmatched nonlinear interactions, and actuator faults. The respective iteration and iteration-free algorithms in the sliding-mode FTC scheme are designed with adaptive upper bounding laws to automatically compensate the matched and unmatched components. Then, a continuous fault-tolerant protocol in the observer-based integral sliding-mode design is developed to guarantee the asymptotic stability of MASs and the ultimate boundedness of the estimation errors. Simulation results validate the efficiency of the proposed FTC algorithm

Fixed-Time Connectivity Preserving Tracking Consensus of Multiagent Systems with Disturbances
This text studies the fixed-time tracking consensus for nonlinear multiagent systems with disturbances. To make the fixed-time tracking consensus, the distributed control protocol based on the integral sliding mode control is proposed; meanwhile, the adjacent followers can be maintained in a limited sensing range. By using the nonsmooth analysis method, sufficient conditions for the fixed-time consensus together with the upper and lower bounds of convergence time are obtained. An example is given to illustrate the potential correctness of the main results. © 2020 Fenglan Sun et al

The paper also explores the subject of study or system used during the research which normally employs multi-robot, multi-agent, space flying, reconfigurable system, multi-legs system or unmanned system. Another aspect of this paper concentrates on the topology employed by the researchers when they conducted simulation or experimental studies
Terminal sliding mode control strategy design for second-order nonlinear system
This study mainly focuses on the terminal sliding mode control (TSMC) strategy design, including an adaptive terminal sliding mode control (ATSMC) and an exact-estimator-based terminal sliding mode control (ETSMC) for second-order nonlinear dynamical systems. In the ATSMC system, an adaptive bound estimation for the lump uncertainty is proposed to ensure the system stability. On the other hand, an exact estimator is designed for exact estimating system uncertainties to solve the trouble of chattering phenomena caused by a sign function in ATSMC law in despite of the utilization of a fixed value or an adaptive tuning algorithm for the lumped uncertainty bound. The effectiveness of the proposed control schemes can be verified in numerical simulations.<br /
