Post-Ethnic Humanistic Care in Chinese American Science Fictions

    Get PDF
In recent years, Chinese American science fiction shows the integration of science, literature and humanistic care into an organic whole. Chinese American science fiction writers combine the elements of science and technology with the realistic social problems in their works to expose the dilemmas between the development of science and technology and human society, thus the issues of artificial intelligence ethics, technological alienation and the rights and interests of the marginal group have gradually become the central concern in Chinese American science fictions. In essence, the focus of Chinese American science fiction writers transcends ethnic barriers and shows a kind of post-ethnic universal humanistic care, which has a positive and practical significance for building a new world order of harmony and fraternity

Since the release of ChatGPT in 2022, the related research fields have shown an explosive growth trend. Given this, this study attempts to sort out the current research systematically results on ChatGPT in journalism and communication by the literature review to expand the horizon of future research. Journalism and communication scholars have carried out a series of research on ChatGPT from three aspects: journalism reform, media theory, and media ethics. These researchers made certain progress in theory and practice. However, the existing researches still have problems, such as unclear concept definition, single research method, and confusing research topic. Future research should base on the perspective of journalism and communication disciplines, expand research methods and enrich research perspectives, and constantly upgrade ChatGPT research from phenomenon discussion to theoretical innovation and academic exchange. Dilemmas in Legal Governance

    Get PDF
This article develops the issue of power and language in Artificial Intelligence governance through three dilemmas that should be considered in the design of regulatory systems. Some previous uses of this figure in the literature are described. The article inspects some design choices that determine how legal governance in AI can be engineered. Stemming from the conundrum that enactment of rights and the implementation of good or better government can be facilitated at the cost of increasing control over citizens through AI-based systems, the article formulates three dilemmas—normative autonomy, legal isomorphism, and modes of regulation. Beyond deliberative and epistemic democracy, it expands then the notion of legal governance, connecting the three dilemmas with the ethical and political stances of the concept of linked democracy

Data is the magic word of the 21st century. As oil in the 20th century and electricity in the 19th century: For citizens, data means support in daily life in almost all activities, from watch to laptop, from kitchen to car, from mobile phone to politics. For business and politics, data means power, dominance, winning the race. Data can be used for good and bad, for services and hacking, for medicine and arms race. How can we build trust in this complex and ambiguous data world? How can digital technologies serve humanity? The 45 articles in this book represent a broad range of ethical reflections and recommendations in eight sections: a) Values, Trust and Law, b) AI, Robots and Humans, c) Health and Neuroscience, d) Religions for Digital Justice, e) Farming, Business, Finance, f) Security, War, Peace, g) Data Governance, Geopolitics, h) Media, Education, Communication. The authors and institutions come from all continents. The book serves as reading material for teachers, students, policy makers, politicians, business, hospitals, NGOs and religious organisations alike. It is an invitation for dialogue, debate and building trust! The book is a continuation of the volume “Cyber Ethics 4.0” published in 2018 by the same editors

Modern technology has excelled at an unprecedented rate. The rise of artificial intelligence raises many ethical questions and concerns for humanity, as it has incited many pressing debates between philosophers, computer scientists, and social critics who share concerns for the future of humanity but conflict with one another regarding whether or not we should rely on technology to govern human affairs and control society\u27s infrastructures. Drawing from Martin Heidegger, Jacques Ellul, Hubert Dreyfus, and others, this project weighs out the probabilities and problems of the technological singularity posited by Ray Kurzweil, confronting our habits of addressing technology and the way we model ourselves off of computational AI. And then, finally, what it means to regain human agency and remain spiritually and ethically accountable for the roles we play

Etikus AI: Javaslat az európai uniós megbízható AI-szabályozás hiányosságainak áthidalására és a gyakorlati implementáció támogatására

A GPT–3 2020-ban gondolkodó robotként definiálta magát. Az AI fejlődéstörténetét a gépek egyre intelligensebbé válásával azonosítják, hátterében ugyanakkor az emberi faktor áll, az emberi elme szárnyalása. A gépek etikájának kérdése ugyanakkor kulturális etikusság kérdés is.
