A Modular Programmable CMOS Analog Fuzzy Controller Chip

    Get PDF
We present a highly modular fuzzy inference analog CMOS chip architecture with on-chip digital programmability. This chip consists of the interconnection of parameterized instances of two different kind of blocks, namely label blocks and rule blocks. The architecture realizes a lattice partition of the universe of discourse, which at the hardware level means that the fuzzy labels associated to every input (realized by the label blocks) are shared among the rule blocks. This reduces the area and power consumption and is the key point for chip modularity. The proposed architecture is demonstrated through a 16-rule two input CMOS 1-μm prototype which features an operation speed of 2.5 Mflips (2.5×10^6 fuzzy inferences per second) with 8.6 mW power consumption. Core area occupation of this prototype is of only 1.6 mm 2 including the digital control and memory circuitry used for programmability. Because of the architecture modularity the number of inputs and rules can be increased with any hardly design effort. This work was supported in part by the Spanish C.I.C.Y.T under Contract TIC96-1392-C02- 02 (SIVA)

Asynchronous switching control for fuzzy Markov jump systems with periodically varying delay and its application to electronic circuits

    Get PDF
This article focuses on addressing the issue of asynchronous H∞ control for Takagi-Sugeno (T-S) fuzzy Markov jump systems with generally incomplete transition probabilities (TPs). The delay is assumed to vary periodically, resulting in one monotonically increasing interval and one monotonically decreasing interval during each period. Meanwhile, a new Lyapunov-Krasovskii functional (LKF) is devised, which depends on membership functions (MFs) and two looped functions formulated for the monotonic intervals. Since the modes and TPs of the original system are assumed to be unavailable, an asynchronous switching fuzzy controller on the basis of hidden Markov model is proposed to stabilize the fuzzy Markov jump systems (FMJSs) with generally incomplete TPs. Consequently, a stability criterion with improved practicality and reduced conservatism is derived, ensuring the stochastic stability and H∞ performance of the closed-loop system. Finally, this technique is employed to the tunnel diode circuit system, and a comparison example is given, which verifies the practicality and superiority of the method

Robust Multimode Function Synchronization of Memristive Neural Networks with Parameter Perturbations and Time-Varying Delays

Publisher Copyright: IEEE Copyright: Copyright 2020 Elsevier B.V., All rights reserved.Currently, some works on studying complete synchronization of dynamical systems are usually restricted to its two special cases: 1) power-rate synchronization and 2) exponential synchronization. Therefore, how to give a generalization of these types of complete synchronization by the mathematical expression is an open question that needs to be urgently solved. To begin with, this article proposes multimode function synchronization by the mathematical expression for the first time, which is a generalization of exponential synchronization, power-rate synchronization, logarithmical synchronization, and so on. Moreover, two adaptive controllers are designed to achieve robust multimode function synchronization of memristive neural networks (MNNs) with mismatched parameters and uncertain parameters. Each adaptive controller includes function r(t) and update gain σ. By choosing different types of r(t), multiple types of complete synchronization, including power-rate synchronization and exponential synchronization can be obtained. And update gain σ can be used to adjust the speed of synchronization. Therefore, our results enlarge and strengthen the existing results. Two examples are put forward to verify the validity of our results.Peer reviewedFinal Accepted Versio

The present report contains an overview of the literature on decision tables since its origin. The goal is to analyze the dissemination of decision tables in different areas of knowledge, countries and languages, especially showing these that present the most interest on decision table use. In the first part a description of the scope of the overview is given. Next, the classification results by topic are explained. An abstract and some keywords are included for each reference, normally provided by the authors. In some cases own comments are added. The purpose of these comments is to show where, how and why decision tables are used. Other examined topics are the theoretical or practical feature of each document, as well as its origin country and language. Finally, the main body of the paper consists of the ordered list of publications with abstract, classification and comments.
