A Framework for Semi-automated Web Service Composition in Semantic Web
Number of web services available on Internet and its usage are increasing
very fast. In many cases, one service is not enough to complete the business
requirement; composition of web services is carried out. Autonomous composition
of web services to achieve new functionality is generating considerable
attention in semantic web domain. Development time and effort for new
applications can be reduced with service composition. Various approaches to
carry out automated composition of web services are discussed in literature.
Web service composition using ontologies is one of the effective approaches. In
this paper we demonstrate how the ontology based composition can be made faster
for each customer. We propose a framework to provide precomposed web services
to fulfil user requirements. We detail how ontology merging can be used for
composition which expedites the whole process. We discuss how framework
provides customer specific ontology merging and repository. We also elaborate

Complete Semantics to empower Touristic Service Providers
The tourism industry has a significant impact on the world's economy,
contributes 10.2% of the world's gross domestic product in 2016. It becomes a
very competitive industry, where having a strong online presence is an
essential aspect for business success. To achieve this goal, the proper usage
of latest Web technologies, particularly schema.org annotations is crucial. In
this paper, we present our effort to improve the online visibility of touristic
service providers in the region of Tyrol, Austria, by creating and deploying a
substantial amount of semantic annotations according to schema.org, a widely
used vocabulary for structured data on the Web. We started our work from
Tourismusverband (TVB) Mayrhofen-Hippach and all touristic service providers in
the Mayrhofen-Hippach region and applied the same approach to other TVBs and
regions, as well as other use cases. The rationale for doing this is
straightforward. Having schema.org annotations enables search engines to
understand the content better, and provide better results for end users, as
well as enables various intelligent applications to utilize them. As a direct
consequence, the region of Tyrol and its touristic service increase their
online visibility and decrease the dependency on intermediaries, i.e. Online

Enterprise application reuse: Semantic discovery of business grid services
Web services have emerged as a prominent paradigm for the development of distributed software systems as they provide the potential for software to be modularized in a way that functionality can be described, discovered and deployed in a platform independent manner over a network (e.g., intranets, extranets and the Internet). This paper examines an extension of this paradigm to encompass ‘Grid Services’, which enables software capabilities to be recast with an operational focus and support a heterogeneous mix of business software and data, termed a Business Grid - "the grid of semantic services". The current industrial representation of services is predominantly syntactic however, lacking the fundamental semantic underpinnings required to fulfill the goals of any semantically-oriented Grid. Consequently, the use of semantic technology in support of business software heterogeneity is investigated as a likely tool to support a diverse and distributed software inventory and user. Service discovery architecture is therefore developed that is (a) distributed in form, (2) supports distributed service knowledge and (3) automatically extends service knowledge (as greater descriptive precision is inferred from the operating application system). This discovery engine is used to execute several real-word scenarios in order to develop and test a framework for engineering such grid service knowledge. Supporting user-oriented analysis for multi-view domain-specific visual languages

Copyright @ 2008 Elsevier B.V.The integration of usable and flexible analysis support in modelling environments is a key success factor in Model-Driven Development. In this paradigm, models are the core asset from which code is automatically generated, and thus ensuring model correctness is a fundamental quality control activity. For this purpose, a common approach is to transform the system models into formal semantic domains for verification. However, if the analysis results are not shown in a proper way to the end-user (e.g. in terms of the original language) they may become useless.
In this paper we present a novel DSVL called BaVeL that facilitates the flexible annotation of verification results obtained in semantic domains to different formats, including the context of the original language. BaVeL is used in combination with a consistency framework, providing support for all steps in a verification process: acquisition of additional input data, transformation of the system models into semantic domains, verification, and flexible annotation of analysis results.
The approach has been validated analytically by the cognitive dimensions framework, and empirically by its implementation and application to several DSVLs. Specifications and Development of Interoperability Solution dedicated to Multiple Expertise Collaboration in a Design Framework
This paper describes the specifications of an interoperability platform based on the PPO (Product Process Organization) model developed by the French community IPPOP in the context of collaborative and innovative design. By using PPO model as a reference, this work aims to connect together heterogonous tools used by experts easing data and information exchanges. After underlining the growing needs of collaborative design process, this paper focuses on interoperability concept by describing current solutions and their limits. Then a solution based on the flexibility of the PPO model adapted to the philosophy of interoperability is proposed. To illustrate these concepts, several examples are more particularly described (robustness analysis, CAD and Product Lifecycle Management systems connections)
