Factors influencing information service quality of the information platform of Wenzhou Municipal People's Hospital
Along with the global trend of informatization, Internet has become a new
mainstream media form following such forms as print media, television and broadcast
media, via which people can access information services. As a country with the
largest number of netizens around the world, China enjoys improving social
information services based on the Internet. With such a large quantity of network
users, it is inevitable for China's hospitals at various levels to provide patients and the
public with information services by setting up their own official websites. This
research investigates the factors affecting the information service quality of Wenzhou
People's Hospital (WZPH) and by means of Delphi method, statistical analysis and
other research methods, formulates the Evaluation Indicator System for the
Information Service Quality of WZPH's Information Platform. The research applies
this system to the empirical research on the information service quality of the
hospital's website and then makes a comparative analysis between the research results
and traffic data of the websites of other hospitals over the same period. Next, the
research identifies the factors affecting the information service quality of WZPH's
website and finds out how the hospital may increase its website users and traffic
through improving its service quality.
This research starts with the determination of the objectives, significance,
research problems, framework, contents and methods of the research. In the following
literature review, the research sorts out papers on hospital websites and theories on
service quality, users' information needs and customer satisfaction in a systematic way.
Based on the literature review as well as expert consultations and theoretical review,
the research determines the approach to examining the information service quality of
WZPH's information platform and works out the initial set of evaluation dimensions
and indicators of the information service function and quality of the hospital's website.
Then, via two rounds of expert consultations, the research figures out the weights of these indicators and further assigns values to each of them. On this basis, the research
establishes a research framework and a comprehensive evaluation model for the
information service quality of WZPH's information platform.
In the end, the research conducts two surveys respectively on the information
service quality of WZPH's information platform before and after its overall revision
by using Hospital Website Information Service Evaluation Form and Virtual User
Questionnaire, and makes a correlation analysis based on the survey results and the
flow data of other hospitals' websites over the same period. The analysis draws a
conclusion that the website of WZPH, as the information platform of the hospital, is
the only carrier to deliver information service, thus playing a vital role in WZPH's
overall service quality. In other words, the website of WZPH affects the hospital's
overall service quality to a large extent. The comprehensive service function of
WZPH's website are important to the quality improvement of the hospital's
information service and directly affect the information service quality, the number of
users as well as utilization rate of the website
Improving GPs' knowledge of the benefits and harms of treatment to support decision making in multimorbidity: qualitative research and co-design of a novel electronic information resource
Background
General practitioners (GPs) regularly prescribe prolonged treatments for long-term conditions. However, GPs may benefit from further understanding of the absolute benefits and harms of these treatments, enhancing their ability to engage in shared decision-making and manage multimorbidity and polypharmacy.
Aim
To produce and evaluate a website to provide information on the benefits and harms of treatments for long-term conditions in a way that can be understood by GPs and potentially integrated into their practice.
Methods
The study consisted of three parts. First, a qualitative interview study and framework analysis with GPs exploring their attitudes to and understanding of the quantitative benefits and harms of treatments. Second, a participatory co-design process to design the website, coupled with a pragmatic approach to evidence collation to provide clinical content. Finally, an exploratory evaluation study of the website using online focus groups.
Results
The interview study reported findings on GPs’ understanding of quantitative information on the benefits and harms of treatments which informed the co-design research. The co-design research resulted in the creation of a website, www.gpevidence.org, which presents complex scientific information on treatment effect sizes and the nature and quality of the relevant clinical evidence.
The evaluation study showed that participating GPs were able to understand the clinical information on GP Evidence, and that in hypothetical scenarios this might change their prescribing practice. Some participants found some information confusing. There was limited evidence that this new information could be integrated into complex decision-making for multimorbidity and polypharmacy.
Conclusion
The aim of producing a website able to deliver information on the benefits and harms of treatments for long-term conditions to GPs was achieved. Further research is needed to evaluate the effect of GP Evidence in real-world practice
A Conceptual Framework for E-tailing Quality and Its Evaluation
The Internet’s influence in creating e-services has been revolutionary for retailer. Clearly, The Internet is fast becoming an important new channel for businesses in retailing, raising e-services as the emergent business paradigm in the industrialized world. Unfortunately, past research on measuring e-tailing quality is scarce. This paper provides a conceptual framework for e-tailing quality and discusses its evaluation. First, we summarize the main previous literature about service quality and e-service quality. Second, three analytical dimensions are identified: website quality, action quality and result quality, and each has its sub-dimensions. Each has different influence degree. Finally, we analyzing the evaluation way by comparing the online shoppers’ perceived and expectation e-service. Future recommendations are also offered
Web Accessibility of Indian University Library Website: An Evaluation with WAVE Website Evaluation Tool
The advent of new teaching-learning methods has brought a great demand for accessible educational websites. There is much research on the accessibility of the website on educational websites in recent years from different countries. A website serves as a communication channel for publishing information and services in higher education. It is expected that higher education institutions must provide access to their information resources and services to all its user in an equal manner irrespective of their physical disability. Hence, it should be mandatory for higher education institutions to include web accessibility as an important part of their websites. Libraries are the heart and an integral part of the higher education system. A library website is the main door from where learners are benefited by the information resources and services of an institute. This paper takes the issue of web accessibility of the home page of the library website for the top fifty universities ranked by NIRF (National Institutional Ranking Framework).NIRF is approved by MHRD (Ministry of Human Resource Department) and it ranks institution across the country in India. The home page of the top fifty Universities Library websites has been analyzed for accessibility errors and related issues with the help of WAVE (Web Accessibility Evaluation Tool). Results revealed that maximum universities had accessibility issues on their library home page
On the farm : an online virtual farmyard for pre-school and primary school children
University of Technology, Sydney. Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences. This thesis presents a detailed description of the research project that provided the basis for the development of a children website and the conceptual framework that was put into place as a basis for the project development. The website is targeted at young children aged four to seven and is intended to facilitate children's learning about the ecology of farm animals, provide an understanding of farm animals' life cycles and to develop in young children an awareness of the role of farm animals in the production of our daily food.
The data based on surveys and interviews with children and teachers in two countries, Australia and Taiwan, are analysed on the first chapter and use to inform the project development. This section also includes a critical survey of the relevant literature relating to appropriate pedagogical frameworks, children's computer literacy and a review of current online resources about farm animals targeting young children. The examination of the relevant educational theory is presented as a foundation for the development process and a critical review of currently available children's learning resources about farm animals is also presented in order to establish best practice design principles for the website which is final called ON THE FARM.
This thesis traces the development of the project from these theoretical bases through to its implementation and initial evaluation. As well as a detailed description of the development process and the provision of an initial evaluation of the project, this thesis also suggests that the learning model of ON THE FARM can form the basis for the development of high quality applications in the future. The application of this data could be applied to new technologies such as Augmented Reality (AR) and could include survey results showing the entertainment preferences of young people and a social-constructivist educational framework that was developed for the project. The final product provides a benchmark reference for the creation of online learning materials for young children, and has a rich potential for future development

Evaluation of state-of-the-art segmentation algorithms for left ventricle infarct from late Gadolinium enhancement MR images
Studies have demonstrated the feasibility of late Gadolinium enhancement (LGE) cardiovascular magnetic
resonance (CMR) imaging for guiding the management of patients with sequelae to myocardial infarction,
such as ventricular tachycardia and heart failure. Clinical implementation of these developments necessitates
a reproducible and reliable segmentation of the infarcted regions. It is challenging to compare
new algorithms for infarct segmentation in the left ventricle (LV) with existing algorithms. Benchmarking
datasets with evaluation strategies are much needed to facilitate comparison. This manuscript presents
a benchmarking evaluation framework for future algorithms that segment infarct from LGE CMR of the
LV. The image database consists of 30 LGE CMR images of both humans and pigs that were acquired
from two separate imaging centres. A consensus ground truth was obtained for all data using maximum
likelihood estimation.
Six widely-used fixed-thresholding methods and five recently developed algorithms are tested on the
benchmarking framework. Results demonstrate that the algorithms have better overlap with the consensus
ground truth than most of the n-SD fixed-thresholding methods, with the exception of the FullWidth-at-Half-Maximum
(FWHM) fixed-thresholding method. Some of the pitfalls of fixed thresholding
methods are demonstrated in this work. The benchmarking evaluation framework, which is a contribution
of this work, can be used to test and benchmark future algorithms that detect and quantify infarct
in LGE CMR images of the LV. The datasets, ground truth and evaluation code have been made publicly
available through the website: https://www.cardiacatlas.org/web/guest/challenges
A Holistic Approach to Unifying Automatic Concept Extraction and Concept Importance Estimation
In recent years, concept-based approaches have emerged as some of the most
promising explainability methods to help us interpret the decisions of
Artificial Neural Networks (ANNs). These methods seek to discover intelligible
visual 'concepts' buried within the complex patterns of ANN activations in two
key steps: (1) concept extraction followed by (2) importance estimation. While
these two steps are shared across methods, they all differ in their specific
implementations. Here, we introduce a unifying theoretical framework that
comprehensively defines and clarifies these two steps. This framework offers
several advantages as it allows us: (i) to propose new evaluation metrics for
comparing different concept extraction approaches; (ii) to leverage modern
attribution methods and evaluation metrics to extend and systematically
evaluate state-of-the-art concept-based approaches and importance estimation
techniques; (iii) to derive theoretical guarantees regarding the optimality of
such methods. We further leverage our framework to try to tackle a crucial
question in explainability: how to efficiently identify clusters of data points
that are classified based on a similar shared strategy. To illustrate these
findings and to highlight the main strategies of a model, we introduce a visual
representation called the strategic cluster graph. Finally, we present
