Le Barzaz Bro-Léon, ou la tentative d'un nouveau Barzaz-Breiz : premières approches d'un fonds inédit de près de 1000 chansons en breton.

ISBN : 978-2-901737-83-8 ; ISSN : 1270-2412En 1906, un concours lancé dans les colonnes du Courrier du Finistère à l'initiative du jeune et dynamique vicaire Jean-Marie Perrot invite les lecteurs à envoyer les chansons en breton qu'ils connaissent et à en recueillir d'autres auprès de leurs proches. Il est précisé que les envois les plus intéressants seront récompensés par des prix et publiés dans un livre intitulé Barzaz Bro-Léon. Le titre prévu pour l'anthologie inscrit d'emblée ce projet dans la lignée du Barzaz-Breiz, le célèbre recueil de chants bretons publié pour la première fois en 1839 par Théodore Hersart de La Villemarqué. Pourtant, le contenu du fonds rassemblé par Jean-Marie Perrot s'avère très différent de celui qui compose le Barzaz-Breiz, et plus largement toutes les autres collectes du XIXe siècle. Ce constat s'explique avant tout par le mode de constitution du Barzaz Bro-Léon, qui est réuni grâce aux contributions directes des chanteurs sans l'intermédiaire de collecteurs. Cette inversion des perspectives, qui laisse place au regard que les interprètes eux-mêmes portent sur leur répertoire, conduit à s'interroger sur les méthodes qui ont fondé la recherche ethnologique dans le domaine de la chanson de tradition orale et sur les orientations mises en œuvre dans le travail d'enquête orale

Diversos factores contribuyeron, ya en el siglo XVII, a que la colonia pasase desde una situación inicial de privilegio a otra de declive. Con la entronización de los Borbones en España se producirá un cambio radical en el sistema político imperante, con repercusiones decisivas en materia económica. Si bien podemos afirmar que la principal riqueza de Santo Domingo en el siglo XVIII fue su ganadería, el cultivo de tabaco representó los nuevos deseos de cambio de las tradicionales estructuras productivas.Peer reviewe

BBC Experiments in local radio broadcasting 1961-62

In the early 1960s, the BBC was given the opportunity to demonstrate that it had the skills and resources to create localized broadcasting, by organizing a series of experimental stations across the UK. Although the output was not heard publicly, the results were played to the Pilkington Committee on Broadcasting, who were deliberating about the future direction of radio and television. Using archival research, featuring contemporary BBC documents, this paper argues that these experimental stations helped senior managers at the BBC to harness technological innovation with changing attitudes in society and culture, thus enabling them to formulate a strategy that put the BBC in the leading position to launch local radio a few years later in 1967

Christian ethics is not a matter of fixed and unchangeable laws. If we are to study its history we must follow a story of development and trace the evidence of an evolution. This is not something that should shock us as though its development were something that puts in question its changeless value. On the contrary, its value is confirmed by its evolution, because Christian ethics is essentially dynamic. From this intrinsic dynamism we are constantly pushed forward. As Christians we live under one commandment, the commandment of love given by Jesus himself which is the centre of the dynamism. If Christian ethics becomes static, it contradicts its very nature. Far from being a tradition that is to be upheld from age to age, Christian ethics is the means of criticising the traditions of every age and a means of searching lines of development for the futur

Conflicting belief systems: some implications for education

In this article the conceptions of knowledge and time within Christianity, secular humanism and traditional African religion are juxtaposed. In order to emphasise the vital role o f belief systems in the field of education, some educational implications are inferred from these different conceptions of knowledge and time. The need to create enough space within the South African education system so that parents will be able to send their children to schools where education is conducted according to their particular belief systems is also foregrounded

Perubahan Hubungan Lampung dengan Banten dalam Perdagangan Lada abad XVI-XVIII

Penelitian ini membahas tentang perubahan hubungan Lampung dengan Banten dalam perdagangan lada abad XVI-XVIII, dengan menggunakan metode penelitian sejarah yang meliputi empat tahap yaitu heuristik, kritik sumber, interpretasi, dan historiografi. Penelitian menemukan terjadi perubahan hubungan antara Lampung dengan Banten, dari semula berupa kerjasama antara kedua belah pihak yang sederajat berubah menjadi hubungan yang tidak sederajat antara penguasa (Banten) dan pihak yang dikuasai (Lampung). Perubahan ini dipicu oleh perkembangan Banten sebagai pelabuhan internasional terutama rempah-lada. Produksi lokal di Jawa barat tidak mampu memenuhi kebutuhan lada Banten, sehingga Banten harus mencari daerah lain di Seberang Selat Sunda untuk dijadikan daerah produksi lada. Dalam hubungan ini Lampung menjadi penyuplai utama lada bagi pelabuhan Banten. Untuk memenuhi kebutuhan lada, para sultan Banten mengeluarkan berbagai aturan (prasasti dan piagam) untuk mengontrol penanaman dan perdagangan lada, yang dibarengi pula dengan kontrol langsung di bawah punggawa Banten di Lampung. Semua usaha itu disertai dengan sanksi keras bagi orang yang tidak mematuhinya. Begitulah cara Banten menjamin kebutuhan ladanya dari Lampung.

The article analyses the interaction between blasphemous language and atheist content expressions expressed in the current vocabulary of the popular classes in the framework of Catalonia in the XVIXVIII centuries. Through the study of judicial documents draw up by the Inquisition in Barcelona and the literature of post-tridentine catholic moral reform will expose the various interpretations that raised the issue among jurist and theologians, while losing the different sensitivities of social groups and certain professions againts blasphemy and religious disaffection. An irreligious behaviour potentially attributable to the popular reasoning logics or catholic, jewish and muslin religious traditions inheritance in the construction of popular christian blasphemous phraseology.El artículo analiza las interacciones entre el lenguaje blasfematorio y las expresiones de contenido ateísta manifestadas en el vocabulario corriente de las clases populares en el marco de la Cataluña de los siglos XVI-XVIII. A través del estudio de la documentación judicial elaborada por la Inquisición de Barcelona y de la literatura de reforma moral católica postridentina se ponen al descubierto las diversas interpretaciones que suscitaba el tema entre juristas y teólogos, desvelándose las distintas sensibilidades de los grupos sociales y de ciertas profesiones frente a la blasfemia y la desafección religiosa. Morphometric and meristic comparison of local and Thai Anabas testudineus

Local and Thai climbing perch, Anabas testudineus are locally known as koi in Bangladesh. These two are important natural and cultured fish. This study was carried out the comparative investigations on morphometric and meristic of local and Thai A. testudineus.  Both the varieties were collected from different fish markets in and around Savar. The morphometric characteristics were higher in Thai koi than local and among them; total length, standard length (SL), length of 1st and 2nd dorsal fin bases, length of 1st and 2nd anal fin bases, abdominal regional length were found different. Proportion of SL and head length (HL), HL and snout length, SL and caudal peduncle length were different between the two varieties. Among the meristic characteristics; number of dorsal spines, dorsal fin rays, anal spines, scale on upper lateral line were found difference between local and Thai koi. The body spots and the colour at pelvic fin region were also different. The present study suggested that local and Thai koi are morphometrically and meristically different in many aspects
