THE FUNDAMENTALS OF ISLAMIC BANKING AND FINANCE: A PROLOGUE

The raison d'être of this article is to supply basic insights on the origin and characteristics of the Islamic Banking system, its distinguishing features, and related contentious issues that have remained the subject of on-going debates among Sharia' scholars and members of the academia. These were analysed by referring to the principles of Muammalat (Islamic economic transaction), which are derived from the Holy Quran, Sunnah of Prophet Muhammad (p.b.u.h.), and Ijma’ (consensus) of prominent Sharia' scholars. Contrary to the conventional banks, Islamic banks are required to operate according to the principles of Muammalat, which are identified as the avoidance of Riba’, Gharar, Maysir, Hilah, and the promotion of ethical business practices such as justice, fairness and transparency. The 2008 global financial meltdown has created a unique awareness among banking consumers on the need of an alternative to complement the conventional banking system, which was viewed by financial scholars as suffering from a crisis of failed morality as a result of greed, exploitation, and corruption. Likewise, many may viewed that the Islamic Banking system is merely another attempt to capitalise on the pulling power of religion towards people, yet there are a number of interestingly unique features that accentuate it from the other banking alternatives. In essence, it is aspired that this article may assist fellow readers, especially those who are still new to this alternative financial system, in understanding and appreciating its unique features, and further stimulate future research in this field. Dan Lembaga perekonomian Islami merupakan salah satu instrument yang tepat untuk digunakan mengatur dan mengembangkan perekonomian, dan dismaping sebagai bagian dari sistem ekonomi, lembaga tersebut juga merupakan bagian dari keseluruhan sistem social yang ada

Pendidikan Moral sebagai Pendidikan Islam (Ditinjau dalam Perspectif Islam)

Moral education becomes the foundation in Islamic education to be able to develop and advance in the current era. Indonesia is one of the countries with the largest Muslim majority in the world so that in its development this moral education is important as a good Islamic education for the nation's generation. In this modern era, the problems that occur today are not only a lack of moral education in Indonesia, but also a lack of Islamic education so that these problems also develop together. This research uses qualitative research methods with literature study with descriptive-analytical research type so that in conducting research it will rely on articles, books, journals and other relevant news. In dealing with the problem of moral education, there are various things that must be studied, such as the improvement of morals and morals that originate from the al-Qur'an and hadiths so that this generation has a strong faith and Islam. In addition, improving technology and information is one of the most important things. Perencanaan Sistem Pembelajaran Pendidikan Agama Islam di Indonesia

Kegiatan pembelajaran merupakan sebuah kegiatan yang sangat diperlukan oleh setiap individu. Karena dengan melakukan sebuah kegiatan pembelajaran ini maka individu tersebut akan dapat berkembang dengan baik. Ketika kita membicarakan tentang kegiatan pembelajaran ini maka kita mungkin akan langsung mengarahkan pandangan kita pada kegiatan pembelajaran yang berlangsung di sekolah. Terlintas pandangan kita, bagaimana kegiatan pembelajaran di sekolah tersebut dapat berjalan dengan efektif? Hakikat Kecerdasan Emosi dalam Paradigma Pendidikan Islam

One important component of living in the midst of a community is the ability to manage emotions well. Goleman's research shows that  only about 20% of the remaining 80% of IQ success is determined by a related factor called emotional intelligence. In fact, it can now be seen that a high IQ is not necessarily successful and not necessarily a happy life. People who have a high IQ but are emotionally unstable and short-tempered often fail to define and solve life's problems because of their inability to concentrate. Emotions do not grow, do not become overwhelming, often make changes when facing problems and deal with others with so much conflict. Emotions are less processed, they are easily controlled by others, who are sometimes  very excited to agree on something, but turn into rejection in a short time, so it prevents the agreed cooperation with others. So the man failed.  In Islamic education, great attention is paid to this. The mission of Islamic teaching is to guide and guide the growth and human development of students from one stage of life to another to achieve an optimal performance score. Spiritual journey of Murut Tahol in Sabah and its effect to their headhunting practice

Religion has a strong influence on the world view of a society. It also affects the actions and practices of everyday life. Therefore, changes in the religion also result in changes in religious practice. This paper tries to see the impact of religious change on headhunting (antaboh) in Tahol Murut community, Ulu Tomani, Sabah, Malaysia. This is because, originally, these people are holding on to faith-based ancestral spirits. Headhunting (antaboh) that they practiced for a long time, is based on traditional religion and belief which has existed for many generations. However, having come into contact with the Lun Bawang people who are Christians, they eventually were drawn to accept Christianity as their religion beganning around the 1950s. Thus, the effect of changes in religion in this community is interesting to be discussed. At least we can assess whether the view that religious change gives impact on the culture of a community also applies to this community. The Methodology used in this study is qualitative in nature involving library research and interview key informants. The researcher also had the opportunity to be with this community on a regular basis from 2003 until today. The result of this study revealed that religious change of Murut Tahol community give significant effect to their headhunting practice

Pendidikan Dan Tenaga Buruh Bagi Memenuhi Keperluan Tenaga Buruh Berpengetahuan Dalam Era Ekonomi Baru

The study focuses on the two aspects of human resource development that is the demand and supply of knowledge workers in the new economic era based on knowledge and its relation to education. Specifically the objective of this research is to analyse the patterns and problems the labour market, to analyse the demand and supply of knowledge workers as well as to analyse the relationship between education and the supply of knowledgeable labour force. This research takes the form of a library research using secondary data collected from various sources and information from related agencies. Labour market analysis showed the low supply and demand for knowledge workers compared to other developed nations. The shift to an ICT based system of education forms a strong basis in moulding an information society which is a prerequisite for development of knowledge based economy. The South Korean experience showed that its success in creating an informed society as well as narrowing the digital divide is the prime factor for the success in its transition to a knowledge based economy

Synthesis and Characterization of PVA-Enzyme/GA/PPy/ PVC-KTpClPB-o-NPOE Indicator Electrodes, XRD Analysis, FTIR and Variable Signal Analysis

This study aims to synthesize and characterize PVA-Enzyme/GA/PPy/PVC-KTpClPB-o-NPOE indicator indicator electrodes, XRD and FTIR analysis and variable signal analysis for urea sensors. The method used is biosensor potentiometry with urease enzyme immobilization technique which analytes urea. Modify 6 mg of enzyme from the amount of 1 drop and 3 drops in 0.5 mL (50% water: 50% ethanol) in PVA solution and o-NPOE plasticizer in PVC-KTpClPB. The indicator electrode is designed in multi-membrane, namely PVA-Enzyme/GA/PPy/PVC-KTpClPB-o-NPOE. PPy was dissolved in H2SO4 at a concentration of 8 M. Modification of PVA-Enzyme/(GA 2.9%)/PVC-KTpClPB-(o-NPOE 61%) was carried out in one layer each. The number of enzyme drops to see the difference in the intensity of the XRD diffraction spectrum and the difference in the transmittance of the FTIR spectrum from the indicator electrode with multi membrane modified PPy with H2SO4 denoted H2SO4-1 and H2SO4-3, respectively. The best results were obtained on the indicator electrode with the notation H2SO4-

Characterization of PVA-Enzyme Coated Indicator Electrodes GA coated again with PVC-KTpClPB-o-NPOE UV-Vis analysis, variable signal analysis, sensor sensitivity and SEM-EDS

This study aims to characterize the phosphate buffer and urease enzymes through UV-Vis and SEM-EDS absorbance spectra using tungsten as an indicator electrode. The method used is a potentiometric biosensor with urease enzyme immobilization technique for urea analyte. A small detection range of 10-5-10-4M has been studied with PVA-enzyme coated indicator electrodes coated with PVC-KTpClPB. On this basis, the researchers increased the detection range by analyzing glutaraldehyde (GA) mixed with PVA-enzyme and o-NPOE mixed with PVC-KTpClPB. The best results of GA mixed PVA-enzyme at GA2.9% UV-Visible analysis. The best results were PVA-enzyme coated indicator electrodes coated with GA coated again with PVC-KTpClPB-o-NPOE SEM-EDS analysis on PVA-enzyme samples 3x coated with GA 1x and PVC-KTpClPB-o-NPOE 1x with o-NPOE variation of 61% and 66%
