Palabras clave: Investigaci?n Acci?n Participaci?n (I.A.P), Escuela de Padres, Padres de Familia, Primera Infancia, corresponsabilidad, Formaci?n.The Participatory Action Comprometidos Somos Una Sola Luz was created with the purpose of being implemented with the Parents of the Preschool Unit at Colegio Tolimense located in the city of Ibagu?, with the purpose of encouraging the participation of families in the Training Schools, which are developed at the Institutional Level in response to the needs that emerge from the student population. According to that, the Participatory Action Research methodology was used as a working method where the social actors themselves focus a relevant work within the community to which they belong, following the statements made by Fals y Rodr?guez (1987): "One of the own characteristics of this method, which makes it different from all others is the collective form in which knowledge is produced, and the collectivization of that knowledge" (p. 18). Therefore, the process was started by applying a survey to 30 families (sample population) of the Transition grade in kindergarten, obtaining real data on the success, failures, difficulties and interests that have been presented in the development and participation of the Parental Schools. It is worth noting that "Parental Training Schools" are implemented in Educational Institutions in order to promote a common thinking, an exchange of experiences, a search for alternatives and solutions to the problems that arise in the process of training boys and girls, the acquisition of values and socio-cultural norms from Early Childhood, the communication and integration of responsible adults, echoing the criterion of co-responsibility that is assigned to family, society and the State in the school training and guarantee of children?s rights, as it is established in Article 67 of the Political Constitution of Colombia, hence, the importance of this Project. Evaluation and diagnosis of diseases of the muscles within the rotator cuff can be done using different modalities, being the Magnetic Resonance the method more widely used. There are criteria to evaluate the degree of fat infiltration and muscle atrophy, but these have low accuracy and show great variability inter and intra observer. In this paper, an analysis of the texture features of the rotator cuff muscles is performed to classify them and other tissues. A general supervised classification approach was used, combining forward-search as feature selection method with kNN as classification rule. Sections of Magnetic Resonance Images of the tissues of interest were selected by specialist doctors and they were considered as Gold Standard. Accuracies obtained were of 93% for T1-weighted images and 92% for T2-weighted images. As an immediate future work, the combination of both sequences of images will be considered, expecting to improve the results, as well as the use of other sequences of Magnetic Resonance Images. This work represents an initial point for the classification and quantification of fat infiltration and muscle atrophy degree. From this initial point, it is expected to make an accurate and objective system which will result in benefits for future research and for patients' health

Influence of intermartensitic transitions on transport properties of Ni2.16Mn0.84Ga alloy

Magnetic, transport, and x-ray diffraction measurements of ferromagnetic shape memory alloy Ni2.16_{2.16}Mn0.84_{0.84}Ga revealed that this alloy undergoes an intermartensitic transition upon cooling, whereas no such a transition is observed upon subsequent heating. The difference in the modulation of the martensite forming upon cooling from the high-temperature austenitic state [5-layered (5M) martensite], and the martensite forming upon the intermartensitic transition [7-layered (7M) martensite] strongly affects the magnetic and transport properties of the alloy and results in a large thermal hysteresis of the resistivity ρ\rho and magnetization MM. The intermartensitic transition has an especially marked influence on the transport properties, as is evident from a large difference in the resistivity of the 5M and 7M martensite, (ρ5Mρ7M)/ρ5M15(\rho_{\mathrm{5M}} - \rho_{\mathrm{7M}})/\rho _{\mathrm{5M}} \approx 15%, which is larger than the jump of resistivity at the martensitic transition from the cubic austenitic phase to the monoclinic 5M martensitic phase. We assume that this significant difference in ρ\rho between the martensitic phases is accounted for by nesting features of the Fermi surface. It is also suggested that the nesting hypothesis can explain the uncommon behavior of the resistivity at the martensitic transition, observed in stoichiometric and near-stoichiometric Ni-Mn-Ga alloys.Comment: 7 pages, 6 figures, REVTEX

Premartensitic transition driven by magnetoelastic interaction in bcc ferromagnetic Ni2MnGaNi_{2}MnGa

    Get PDF
We show that the magnetoelastic coupling between the magnetization and the amplitude of a short wavelength phonon enables the existence of a first order premartensitic transition from a bcc to a micromodulated phase in Ni2MnGaNi_{2}MnGa. Such a magnetoelastic coupling has been experimentally evidenced by AC susceptibility and ultrasonic measurements under applied magnetic field. A latent heat around 9 J/mol has been measured using a highly sensitive calorimeter. This value is in very good agreement with the value predicted by a proposed model.Comment: 4 pages RevTex, 3 Postscript figures, to be published in Physical Review Letter

Dissipative failure of adiabatic quantum transport as a dynamical phase transition

    Get PDF
Entanglement is the central resource in adiabatic quantum transport. Dephasing affects the availability of that resource by biasing trajectories, driving transitions between success and failure. This depletion of entanglement is important for the practical implementation of quantum technologies. We present an alternative perspective on the failure of adiabatic computation by understanding the failure of adiabatic transport as a dynamical phase transition. These ideas are demonstrated in a toy model of adiabatic quantum transport in a two-spin system

Residual-based adaptivity for two-phase flow simulation in porous media using Physics-informed Neural Networks

This paper aims to provide a machine learning framework to simulate two-phase flow in porous media. The proposed algorithm is based on Physics-informed neural networks (PINN). A novel residual-based adaptive PINN is developed and compared with the residual-based adaptive refinement (RAR) method and with PINN with fixed collocation points. The proposed algorithm is expected to have great potential to be applied to different fields where adaptivity is needed. In this paper, we focus on the two-phase flow in porous media problem. We provide two numerical examples to show the effectiveness of the new algorithm. It is found that adaptivity is essential to capture moving flow fronts. We show how the results obtained through this approach are more accurate than using RAR method or PINN with fixed collocation points, while having a comparable computational cost

Sensitivity analysis using Physics-informed neural networks

The paper's goal is to provide a simple unified approach to perform sensitivity analysis using Physics-informed neural networks (PINN). The main idea lies in adding a new term in the loss function that regularizes the solution in a small neighborhood near the nominal value of the parameter of interest. The added term represents the derivative of the loss function with respect to the parameter of interest. The result of this modification is a solution to the problem along with the derivative of the solution with respect to the parameter of interest (the sensitivity). We call the new technique to perform sensitivity analysis within this context SA-PINN. We show the effectiveness of the technique using 3 examples: the first one is a simple 1D advection-diffusion problem to show the methodology, the second is a 2D Poisson's problem with 9 parameters of interest and the last one is a transient two-phase flow in porous media problem.Comment: 22 pages, 11 figure
