oferuje bardziej atrakcyjne produkty turystyczne.
Turysta-gracz
kreuje obraz wirtualnej mapy gry.
Dokonano ewaluacji
wykorzystania gry do podniesienia atrakcyjności turystycznej badanych miast. Przeprowadzone
studium pozwala wnioskować, że grywalizacja wchodzi do praktyki turystycznej. Najwięcej portali
wprowadzonych do gry Ingress w badanych miastach stanowiły obiekty związane z kultem religijnym
aktywności turystycznej w najbliższym otoczeniu (regionie).A touristic sector aims at finding new communication technologies and uses of gamer rivalry to
provide more attractive tourist offers. Interactive games serve as one example of this. The game of
Ingress is an interactive game played in real time in a virtual reality on mobile devices. The game
board consists of a real map of the world, produced by Google Maps, with superimposed virtual
objects (portals). These portals are a reflection of real places subjectively determined to be important
by gamers. Game participants select sites whose main common feature is broadly defi ned attractiveness to potential gamers. The tourist/gamer creates an image of a virtual game map. Thus,
they become active participants in the creation of a tourist off ering. The gamer can infl uence the
offering by interacting with other gamers via mobile devices. Ingress game boards were analyzed
in the study for two small cities in the Voivodeship of Małopolskie – the towns of Krzeszowice and
Skała. Sites submitted by gamers were tallied and classified, and later placed on the game’s virtual
game board. In addition, the number of stationary historical sites was calculated using registry
data from the National Heritage Institute based on entities submitted by gamers to the game
board. The study evaluated the very use of the game as a tool designed to increase the tourist
attractiveness of the examined cities. It has been shown that gamifi cation becomes an element
of tourism development. In the studied towns, the largest number of portals submitted to game
of Ingress consisted of religious entities such as churches, chapels, figures of saints, sculptures,
and monuments. Most gamers are young people whose activity on the Internet may help increase
tourist activities in their closest vicinity or region
Tourism and Recreation: Contemporary Threats and Opportunities for Development
Praca recenzowana / peer-reviewed pape
International, Regional, and Local Aspects of Tourism
1,23 mld) i według prognoz UNWTO (United Nations World Tourism Organization,
Światowa Organizacja Turystyki) w 2030 r. wyniesie 1,8 mld. Jednak
wraz z dynamicznym rozwojem, przed turystyką pojawia się szereg wyzwań
związanych np. z zapotrzebowaniem konsumentów na bardziej wyspecjalizowane
rodzaje i formy turystyki, czy z koniecznością wypracowania przyjaznych
dla środowiska przyrodniczego oraz społecznego praktyk turystycznych. Inicjatywy
tego rodzaju znalazły wyraz w ogłoszeniu 2017 r. Międzynarodowym
Rokiem Zrównoważonej Turystyki dla Rozwoju.
W niniejszej publikacji podjęto próbę naświetlenia problematyki turystyki,
poczynając od jej wymiaru międzynarodowego w odniesieniu do wybranych
problemów, poprzez szczebel regionalny, kończąc na pokazaniu rozwiązań na
poziomie lokalnym. Przedstawione zagadnienia stanowią kontynuację rozważań
rozpoczętych w 2016 r. na łamach monografii pt. Turystyka i rekreacja:
Geography textbooks experience an ongoing change of their content and layout. Structure, content, and layout carry a specific educational concept and become the source of information available to students.
This paper aims at mapping student opinion on geography textbooks currently used in Polish lower and
upper secondary education. A total of twelve randomly selected lower secondary and fourteen upper
secondary schools facilitated the questionnaire-based data collection. The sample consisted of 2,681
student responses. Data collection focused, among others, on student opinion on geography textbooks
selected by their teachers, their usage during the process of teaching and learning, as well as their role
in motivating students to develop an interest in geography. The results show an overall positive evaluati on regarding textbook layout. In contrast, most students criticized content, tasks, and language.
Peer Reviewe

Motives for the choice of geography in Matura examinations in the context of Poland’s examination policy
The educational reform in 1999 introduced external examinations into the Polish system of education. The examinations are carried out on the basis of educational standards for individual subjects and subject groups. External examinations, especially new Matura examination, changed diametrically previous solutions which is a challenge to teachers, students and parents.
Being frequently chosen by students out of the group of optional subjects, geography has a large contribution to Matura overall results. Therefore, a question arises what makes young people decide to take Matura examination in geography. The study shows the results of a survey carried out among those Matura grade students who chose geography for Matura in 2012. The gathered results also allowed to estimate how the alterations introduced by Ministry of Education into the procedures of examination subjects’ choice influence students’ choice in relation to geography
Industrial geography issues in secondary schools geography syllabuses, selected teaching programmes and textbooks
This research employed the comparative analysis method in order to determine the range of industrial geography issues in secondary schools geography teaching programmes and textbooks. The aim of the research was to identify the factors that determine the choice and presentation methods of topics in industrial geography. The quantitative and qualitative analysis was conducted on the basis of a query of currently used state-approved teaching programmes and textbooks in geography for secondary schools (gymnasium, general, specialized, and technical secondary schools). In total, 15 programmes and 15 textbooks were analysed at the level of lower-secondary school, and 10 programmes and 10 textbooks at the level of upper-secondary schools. Generally, the issues in industrial geography are included in the II- and III-form programmes of both lower- and upper-secondary schools. The amount of time that the teacher can devote to industrial geography topics is rather small, and most often equals from 1 to 3 classes. Therefore it is crucial that the syllabuses and textbooks treat these issues in accordance with the contemporary trends in geography teaching methodology and with the industrial geography scientific state of the art. This article investigates how these assumptions are realized in relation to the industrial geography issues in the syllabuses, teaching programmes and textbooks
