Mimicry in Achebeâs Arrow of God
The paper is an attempt to study Chinua Achebe\u27s Arrow of God through the lens ofHomi K. Bhabha\u27s concept of âmimicry.\u27African Trilogy is a significant picture of African people and the history of how they are lured into a new culture. We see in the trilogy an evolution of mimic men ÂŹâ how the native man evolves into an imitator. There are a lot of representations of mimic men available in the trilogy and they can be categorized into various phases of evolution of âmimic manâ according to their ambivalence and hybridity level of their contemporary culture and society. The paper concentrates mainly on the characters of Arrow of God like Oduche and Unachukwu as they represent the universal condition and behaviour of mimic men
Rotational properties of two-component Bose gases in the lowest Landau level
We study the rotational (yrast) spectra of dilute two-component atomic Bose
gases in the low angular momentum regime, assuming equal interspecies and
intraspecies interaction. Our analysis employs the composite fermion (CF)
approach including a pseudospin degree of freedom. While the CF approach is not
{\it a priori} expected to work well in this angular momentum regime, we show
that composite fermion diagonalization gives remarkably accurate approximations
to low energy states in the spectra. For angular momenta (where
and denote the numbers of particles of the two species, and ), we
find that the CF states span the full Hilbert space and provide a convenient
set of basis states which, by construction, are eigenstates of the symmetries
of the Hamiltonian. Within this CF basis, we identify a subset of the basis
states with the lowest -level kinetic energy. Diagonalization within
this significally smaller subspace constitutes a major computational
simplification and provides very close approximations to ground states and a
number of low-lying states within each pseudospin and angular momentum channel
Public International Law and the WTO: A Reckoning of Legal Positivism and Neoliberalism
This Article proceeds in five parts. In part one, I review the scholarly skepticism as to how far international law is law in the hard sense and show that this skepticism has always permeated the discipline. In part two, I go on to examine what has prompted contemporary scholarship to credit the WTO with helping international law grow out of the thin normativity often attributed to it. The analysis suggests that certain features of legal positivism customarily associated with law in its strict sense, which were alleged to be lacking in international law, are found in the institutional apparatus of the WTO. To test this hypothesis, in part three, I examine that apparatus in light of the tenets of three prominent positivists-Bentham, Austin, and Hart-and enquire whether they would have sanctioned international law had the WTO existed in their day. The conclusion drawn is that, even with the WTO, their views on international law would not have been different than what they were. This finding rectifies the myths that regard the WTO as a positivist enterprise. Part four of the article undertakes to demonstrate that neoliberalism is the driving force of not only the WTO but also the normative and structural global changes all around. To this end, the analysis conceptualizes neoliberalism and then demonstrates how the WTO serves the implementation of the neoliberal agenda. As a corollary, in part five, positivism and neoliberalism are critically juxtaposed and shown to stand in harmony with one another. The conclusion highlights the extent to which the findings can restructure the outlook of international lawyers towards the WTO
Performance Comparison of Multi Input Capacitor Converter Circuits
This paper analyze the operation of a multi input switched capacitor (MIC) converters using a couple of switches, diodes and capacitors for several levels. With two input sources it is possible to obtain 8 output voltage levels. Here, 5 topologies of switched capacitor circuits namely summation, subtraction, inverting, double and half circuits are simulated and their performances are analyzed. Multi Input Converters have a high regard for multiple renewable energy sources used in smart grid systems, especially for distributed generators. The effects on output voltage with variation in load for different frequencies are also analyzed. Hardware implementation of summation and subtraction circuit is carried out and the results are compared with the simulated result
A Comparative Analysis on the Role and Market Linkages of Gold Backed Assets During COVID-19 Pandemic
Gold is a traditional favorite investment avenue for investors all over the globe, particularly during the crisis period. Irrespective of the nature of the crisis, investors are allocating their funds to different gold-backed assets. This paper uses various globally traded gold-backed assets to identify its role and market linkages during the Covid 19 pandemic. Daily prices of assets from March 2020 to January 2022 were employed. DCC GARCH model is used to ascertain time-varying correlations and quantile regression was employed to examine the relationship between assets in different quantiles. Based on the analysis, safe haven property of all the assets is revealed and it is associated with the severity of the stock market crash as specified by the quantiles. Moreover, double exposure of gold mining stock results in different flights to quality. Co-movement of gold bullion, gold futures, and gold volatility index is visible during this crisis. Gold Exchange Traded Funds and gold-backed cryptocurrency offer diversification by decoupling with gold bullion in the portfolio. The paper highlights the importance of the choice of gold-backed assets along with gold bullion in the investment portfolio based on its role and market linkages
Plastic to Petrol
Perinjanam is a coastal village in Thrissur district in the state of Kerala, India. It is one of
the smallest villages in Kerala. Perinjanam Panchayath has been recognized as the first
Panchayath in India with âISO 9001 2015â certification. National Accreditation Board
of Certification Body (NABCB) has conducted valuation in two steps and was found
that the Panchayath has fulfilled the criteria suggested by Quality Council of India.
The Science Centre was established in 2006 under the Charitable Society Act with an
aim to undertake scientific experiments. Several Teachers and students are undertaking
science related activities in 5 buildings spread over 70 cents of land of Kodungalloor

plastic waste is burnt and distilled to make petrol and other by products. This is a part
of its endevour to find a low-cost and pollution free technology for processing non
biodegradable waste
