As relações de poder em Salvador no século XVII: Um gesto de interpretação de José Alencar

Nesse trabalho, tem-se por objetivo aplicar pressupostos teóricos da Análise de Discurso filiada a Pêcheux com vistas a estudar a cidade do Salvador no ano de 1609 em uma perspectiva discursiva. Entre os pressupostos teóricos, destacam-se formações ideológica e discursiva, interdiscurso, memória discursiva e arquivo, sujeito. O corpus selecionado para esse trabalho é composto por recortes do romance As minas de prata de José de Alencar (1865), uma vez que são apresentadas as relações de poder. Alencar, enquanto formulador, é interpelado pela ideologia e é assujeitado à língua, para se constituir, em um sujeito que se filia a uma formação discursiva e exerce a função-autor, expressando um gesto de interpretação literário, o qual está vinculado à formação ideológica definida por Martius e, consequentemente, à formação discursiva do romantismo, que busca desenvolver a tarefa nacionalista de cunhar uma identidade nacional e perpetuar a história pátria na criação dessa imagem exemplar. The city of Salvador: a literary gesture of interpretation by Jose de Alencar

In this work, it is had for objective to apply estimated theoreticians of the Analysis of Discourse by Pe?cheux with sights to study the city of Salvador in its urban aspects and a discursive perspective. Among the estimated theoreticians, formations ideological and discursive, interdiscourse, discursive memory, archive and subject are distinguished. The corpus selected for this work is composed for clippings of first and the ninth chapters of the romance As minas de prata by Jose? de Alencar (1865), a time that in this stretch of the workmanship is presented “picture” of the related city, in a complex narrative, that if reports to the year of 1609. No silêncio da história, a ficção: a morte de Van Dorth

Nesse trabalho, tem-se por objetivo aplicar pressupostos teóricos da Análise de Discurso filiada a Pêcheux com vistas a estudar o discurso sobre a cidade do Salvador quanto a fatos da sua história, em uma perspectiva discursiva. Entre os pressupostos teóricos que se filiam a Pêcheux, destacam-se condições de produção, formações ideológica e discursiva, interdiscurso, memória discursiva, arquivo e sujeito. O corpus selecionado para esse trabalho é composto de recorte do romance histórico Dom Marcos (1976b), de Altamirando Requião. Escolheu-se como tema “a morte de Van Dorth”, retratada no arquivo e no texto literário em questão. Chega-se à conclusão de que Requião, na função-autor, dá às personagens históricas valor secundário e às ficcionais um papel central na narrativa, visto que estas determinam a focalização por parte do formulador, uma vez que é no silêncio da história que surge espaço para a ficção

DVD Escola de Língua Portuguesa: Qual discurso? Qual sujeito?

Neste artigo objetivamos discutir as marcas discursivas do sujeito apresentador/professor a partir dos enunciados extraídos do DVD Escola de Língua Portuguesa nº 14.  Trata-se de buscar identificar o discurso predominante na mídia DVD Escola, ao mesmo tempo em que contrastaremos esses resultados com as tendências pedagógicas da educação brasileira (Saviani 2008, Ghiraldelli Jr. 1991), bem como com aquelas que são discutidas na Lei de Diretrizes e Bases da Educação (LDB) e nos Parâmetros Curriculares Nacionais de Língua Portuguesa (PCN), acerca do discurso pedagógico, no âmbito do ensino de língua portuguesa. Para dar suporte à discussão proposta, valemo-nos dos pressupostos teóricos da Análise de Discurso, de linha francesa (AD), apresentados por Michel Pêcheux (1997a, 1997b, [1983]2008), Eni Puccinelli Orlandi (2006, 2007), Sirio Possenti (2003), Pedro Navarro (2006), dentre outros

Development of a bio-based adhesive from Protium heptaphyllum resin

In this work, a bio-based adhesive is prepared from Protium heptaphyllum resin. The resin is first characterized by 1 H and 13C nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy and the bioadhesive is then prepared using a simple mixture of the resin with linseed oil, catalyzed by cobalt octanoate, to induce crosslinking. The precursors and bioadhesive obtained are characterized by thermogravimetric analysis (TGA), differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) and Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR). The NMR analysis shows the presence of groups of triterpenes, such as α- and β-amyrins, and diols, such as brein and maniladiol. Thermogravimetric analysis reveals that the resin has less thermal stability than the bioadhesive. Mechanical tests indicate that the bioadhesive has greater adhesion strength compared to the commercial adhesive, reaching an average stress at break of 7.66 and 0.113 MPa for the wood and carbon steel substrates, respectively. One-year prospective clinical study comparing patient satisfaction and masticatory performance of mandibular overdentures supported by one versus two implants

There is a lack of clinical evidence on mandibular overdentures (MOD) supported by a single implant. Objective: To compare patient satisfaction and masticatory performance in MOD supported by one versus two implants in a two-group parallel randomized clinical trial. Material and Methods:Twenty-one patients wearing new maxillary and mandibular complete dentures (CDs) were randomly divided to receive one (GI, n = 11) or two (GII, n = 10) implants in the mandibular arch. Four months after implant placement, o-ring abutments were installed in the implants, and matrix attachments were placed in the lower complete dentures. Patient satisfaction with their dentures and masticatory performance were compared at baseline, 3, 6, and 12 months after the procedure. Data on patient satisfaction were analyzed using the Friedman test and the Mann-Whitney U test. Data on masticatory performance were analyzed using one-way repeated measures analysis of variance (ANOVA) and Student's t test (α=0.05). Results: Both groups exhibited a significant increase in overall patient satisfaction in all periods evaluated (p<0.05), except for GI after 12 months, which had values similar to baseline (p=0.74). Satisfaction levels of GI and GII were similar at baseline, 3 and 6 months, but GII showed higher satisfaction levels (p=0.01) than GI at 12 months. GI and GII exhibited a significant increase (p<0.05) in masticatory performance for all periods relative to baseline. However, GII had higher masticatory performance with dentures than GI, regardless of the period (p<0.05). Conclusion: MOD supported by two implants demonstrated better patient satisfaction in the follow-up at 12 months and better masticatory performance than MOD supported by one implant. &nbsp

Thermal treatment of açaí (Euterpe oleracea) fiber for composite reinforcement

This work investigated the effect of thermal treatment in an autoclave on the chemical, physical, and morphological properties of lignocellulosic fibers from açaí (Euterpe oleracea Mart), and the behavior of this treated fiber in polypropylene (PP) matrix composites with polypropylene-graft-maleic anhydride (PPgMA) as the coupling agent. The treated and untreated fibers were characterized by chemical composition, x-ray diffraction, FTIR spectroscopy, and thermogravimetry, scanning electron microscopy and tensile tests were carried out for the composites. The results showed that the thermal treatment modified the hemicellulose and lignin content and increased the fiber surface roughness, without compromising the thermal stability. The composite prepared with thermally treated fibers and PPgMA exhibited an increase in tensile strength but a reduction in tensile modulus. In conclusion, the thermal treatment of vegetable fiber is a promising technique for improving the performance of composites
